Yeah right, better to wait for whatever it's awaits him after winning the fight, let Maloney push his way to challenge or ask for the fight as long as Donaire will get decent earnings then so be it.

Taking care of his finances while there's still plenty of time for him is the best decision for the Donaire,
win the fight and take a good amount of offer next.
Yeah but most of us will be a lot happier if he will going to win this fight. We all know donaire from his wins to his losses, though sometimes I am thinking that maybe he should rest, but then if he still can fight other boxers and his team is still able to improve his stats before then no problem at all. I just say that he is already a winner to us, a champion whether he wins or he lose Donaire is Donaire.

Just the same with all those legends who continue to bring pride even they are no longer on their primes but still manage to win a fight and become a champ it's really a good way of showing love to the sports.

On Donaire's end, it's another edge if he will take the belt I mean if he become a champion again then
expect to have another money fight before he will retire his gloves right?

I don't think Donaire will retire as long as he can still make money. As long as he remains a champion, he will see it as an opportunity to earn more before retiring. Most boxers retire when they can no longer win and sell their fights, but Donaire's journey may be different since he is still considered a dominant fighter despite his age.

Undoubtedly, in the world of boxing, money plays a significant role. While Donaire is undoubtedly popular, he is not as wealthy as the boxers in the upper division who become champions. Therefore, he will likely take this opportunity to continue fighting and making money at the same time. The outcome of this fight is essential, as if Donaire were to lose, he may not consider continuing his boxing career.

One reason though is that he campaigns in the lower division and the money is not as big as lets say in the premier weight which is 147 lbs. But I read that Donaire and his wife has a good investment with the money that Donaire earn in boxing, so maybe they will have enough money even if Donaire decided to retire for good. So still a win win situation for him, if by chance he lost and decided to quit, he will have a good life. And if we wins, then obviously he will fight another day to defend that belt and make a payday for him.

It's very important for a boxer to learn how to manage their finances. Donaire is lucky to have his wife as his manager, as the money will not go to someone else. With good investments, their wealth has likely grown and they have already prepared for their future, even without the money they are earning from boxing.

So, he may retire as a champion if that's his goal. However, if he still has a passion for boxing and believes in himself that he can win, he might choose to stay in the sport for longer.

I might have to agree but there is a thin line between making money and risking your health. Floyd for example has this philosophy of "health comes first, and truly blessed to be one of the legend in boxing who didn't get hurt in his career because of his good defense.

On the other hand, Donaire has his fair share of losses and just like in his last fight with Inoue, he was knockout cold.

So him and his wife should make the right decision as to continue or not as it might take a toll on him later in life, just saying. No amount of money can pay if your body and mind will be affected by boxing when Donaire age.

Good thing for Donaire as he and his wife are well-aware that they won't be staying forever in this sport, putting up good investment, making sure that after his career in this sport was over, they can still maintain a convenient lifestyle.

We have seen how Manny Pacquiao live his life now and for sure that's the best example for all those fighters
who will have that same privilege. They need to make sure that before over spending the money they've got
something that will allow them to still have a comfortable life away from boxing.

Pacquiao is a good example of a successful post-boxing life, due to his careful management of his finances. However, in terms of net worth, Donaire is not as wealthy as Pacquiao with a reported net worth of only $5 million according to an article.

Donaire just have to be smart in investing his money since he already have enough to invest.

May the best man win. I hope Astrolabio wins so it could be easier for him to unify with Donaire or any other future champions.

Astrolabio winning that match might result in Moloney hiding in embarrassment. They avoid Nonito Donaire and then choose another path but on that chosen path, they failed just because they think it was the easy opponent waiting for them.

But personally, I want to see Donaire vs Moloney in the future and the only way is by unification match if both of them will win their respective matches.

Let's see what will be the result of their respective fights.

I'm honestly hoping for that same situation where Moloney will meet his fair share and that's a loss towards another Filipino boxer, Astrolabio.

It's not totally impossible because they are choosing the safest way and probably, they will underestimate his opponent that will result into a lot of errors inside the ring. I believe that Astrolabio can upset Moloney considering that he got an unpredictable KO punch, just like what he did to his recent opponent Potapov in their battle to have the WBO Inter-Continental.

Let's see, if I'm not mistaken, this Filipino went under the radar in this division, same with Reymart Gaballo (although he lost to Nonito already). So if this two can win their title eliminator or for the vacated belt, then it's good for the Filipino fans as it's possible that they might get 2 titles in the bantamweight.

But of course all eyes is on Nonito right now, in this fight he will be the favorite to become the next champion.
Right, Nonito Donaire is the hotshot in the bantamweight division right now because among all boxers lift in the division, he is the most known. But does this bout have its date already? Tried searching for it across the web and nothing popped out. The last rumor I've heard on this fight is that it will happen in Summer in the US.

Quote
And maybe later if there is time, he can deal with Moloney as he avoided Nonito but the chances are low for them to see each other in the ring because Arum doesn't want to work with Probellum.
That is not yet sure because I'm still having a doubts on his talent and who knows, the Filipino boxer whom he is facing will upset him and will give him an embarrassment. So probably, if that happens, we will see a Filipino vs Filipino fight.

Safe to say that Nonito Donaire also got his own share of investments that he has made all through out his career in the boxing industry, we might not know about it because most of his life are private and not as transparent as his fellow countryman, Manny Pacquiao. But it's undeniable, Manny Pacquiao is just on a different level and he already secured his family in terms of wealth up to his great grandkids in the future.

Hard to compare the wealth of those two, I mean we all know that Manny campaigns in the 147 lbs, which is a division that offer a lot of money, and once he became the cash cow of boxing, anyone that he fights is guaranteed a cool $1 million that's why everyone wanted to fight Manny during that time and even if they lost, biggest paycheck for them.

For Nonito though, it's very path for him, bantamweight/super-bantamweight, less money. But the most important thing is that he brings everything at 100% during a fight. And if he has invested that money that he won from boxing, then good for him.

For Nonito though, it's very path for him, bantamweight/super-bantamweight, less money. Butthe most important thing is that he brings everything at 100% during a fight. And if he has invested that money that he won from boxing, then good for him.

Most important is that he brings honor to the country. They reach the level of success due to the support of the fans that motivates them to train hard to win. Money is just the secondary prize, and they deserve to get a lucrative paycheck because they provide entertainment to the world. There's nothing I can criticize about these two great boxers. They are clean boxers and are not boring to watch.

So, regarding the upcoming fight of Donaire, I'm sure we will be entertained again.

I don't think Donaire will retire as long as he can still make money. As long as he remains a champion, he will see it as an opportunity to earn more before retiring. Most boxers retire when they can no longer win and sell their fights, but Donaire's journey may be different since he is still considered a dominant fighter despite his age.

This isn't a good way to end a career if Donaire thinks this way.
Donaire may have enough money, investments, and properties to sustain throughout his retirement, but he's only fighting beyond 40 because it is his passion to step into the ring.
If you think about money, you might end up being knocked down in a career ending fashion because the burning passion in your heart being a fighter was already replaced with money.
So, I hope it's not gonna be the case for Donaire.

I think that's every athletes goal, not just this boxers, but any sports that they can bring honor to their country, they will do it. But this is a very different league though, I mean it's not that they are in the Olympics representing their flag, this is all professional now, and this is their job. I might be in the minority here, but I don't believed those boxers who says that they fight for their country in the pro ranks, they are fighting because they want to earn money simple as that. And that's why there are boxers who despite their age keeps fighting. Or even former boxers who came out of retirement to box just to scratch that itch one more time and then still make money.

Agreed because without Inoue and Casimero, Donaire can win vs. anyone in the bantamweight division. It would create a good storyline if in his age, he can unify all the championships hehehe.

In any case, I do not know anything about this Alejandro Santiago. What would be everyone's prediction on the odds for the both of these fighters if the sportsbooks begin offering them?

Yes, it's a huge chance for Donaire to be a champion again or even unify all the belts. I think that's what he is doing now and taking advantage while there are no boxers that can be a threat in the division that can probably face him. Well, if time permits, Nonito will and can surely unify all the belts at 118. For now, let's see him fight because his last fights weren't that flashy anymore.

Regarding about Alejandro Santiago, you can see his record here: https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/637333

Not unless Nonito Donaire will lose this fight against Santiago, I will still stick to my personal belief that Donaire can stll dominate the bantamweight division despite his age now that Inoue is now out of the said division. Seeing the current rankings at the 122 across all boxing organizations, it's only Jason Moloney for can give a tough fight to Donaire.

But seems Moloney still recognize Donaire's power and try to delay the time they will face soon by backing on the fight. It will result for them to meet each other at the possible unification fight if they will be both become champion but at that time will happened, Donaire is aging more.

I agree, Donaire even at his age, is going to be one of the biggest punchers in this division and most likely hard to beat byt those rank players. Only Moloney will have a chance by he doesn't want to fight Donaire yet, as you have said he might be waiting for Donaire to age more.

But seems Moloney still recognize Donaire's power and try to delay the time they will face soon by backing on the fight. It will result for them to meet each other at the possible unification fight if they will be both become champion but at that time will happened, Donaire is aging more.
We might see this fight down the road, there has been a huge shakeup in Probellum, the once Bob Arum is accusing that is being run by Irish Mafia and that's why he refused to work with them with Richard Schaeffer and Donaire was still under that promotional company.

Now that Richard is out of Probellum, he brings himself Donaire and Stanionis. So maybe if both will win their fight, we might see the unification fight in the future.

Yes, that's what I'm trying to say, it's a business, and boxers knows that, and one reason why we call this sports prize fighting. Because there is a price for every fight, and boxers are looking for that biggest payday for them every match they had. So for me, it's a job for them and they have to earn big since it's their health that is also at risk. We've heard horror stories of boxer dying inside the ring or right after the fight.

On the side of bringing pride, yes, I also agree that it's part of it since these sports are worldwide and
being known all over the world is something that most, if not all, fighters desire to achieve.

This could be just reward if they become a world champion, thus they have the pride of carrying their countries pride. But in the beginning, if they are still climbing the ranks, it's the belt and the money is their main ambition.

This seems to be the strategy Moloney is employing, instead of fighting him now as it was speculated he decided to follow another route hoping that even if Donaire wins his fight against Santiago he can buy enough time for the abilities of Donaire to decrease to the point he can beat him, personally I have never liked those delaying tactics and if Moloney does in fact takes years to face Donaire then I hope that will be enough time for a new star to appear on the division and to not let Moloney get away with it.
