Something strange happening to wallet. Keeps producing " ? " over 100 already?
PoW reactivation will happen in about a week time - 27/28 September - block 577850
dont mine now!

Forgive my ignorance, but... Wont we get to block 577850 faster if I continue to mine? It just means all these blocks won't belong to me or already belong to someone else?

and then rethink the meaning of the words POW is disabled until block 577850

What happens to all the block between now and 577850 if nobody mines them? Do I need to recreate my blockchain?

the blocks are generated with POS

if u have a wallet with coins in it
just unlock it for pos minting

there is no resync required
if u update to new wallet before block 577850 is reached

if u dont update early enough u will need later a full resync (or download of actual blockchain)

minting question.

If you run the SAME wallet on multiple machines does this increase your chance of minting a coin ?

Please note: if you somehow managed to create an longer block chain with the old wallet, the new wallet will refuse these and disconnect you.

So if you are disconnected, please download a new block chain -- either from the network or from one of the announces in this thread.

I see few nodes trying to send bogus blocks.

minting question.

yes

but u wont earn more rewards
u just improve the luck aspect which wallet will be able mint next block a bit

over all it doesnt matter if u mint the block today ot tomorrow
but basical it allowed have the same wallet active minting multilke times

once a block minted its minted for all wallets run the same wallet.dat so
u cant earn double rewards and mint coin-age twice

maybe somehow related i have this question to community

we could have a android wallet unable to mint pretty easy

would it be acceptable for u to be required run a pc wallet for minting and a android wallet that can be used as easy and always in ur pocket payment solution?

going for pos able android wallet would need lot efford and still pos have lot disadvantages on mobile devices like power useage and data traffic

Just like to give a shout-out to cryptonit and danbi!
This coin first got me into crypto and though I now spend considerably more time on other currencies, this is the only one I trust and buy and hold.
If it wasn't for cryptonit and danbi, this coin would of fallen away as far as I can see, not to take away from other believers efforts. I will continue to support this coin and invest as I may! Thank you very much guys!

So can coins earned by minting in turn mint new coins ?

If so then I guess there would be a benefit to minting as soon as possible to get coin age ?

can minting be run by GPU ?

that make no sence for pos so no posibility to do that
there is only a simple hashing involved done by cpu
the biggest part who will be able mint next block is decided by the coin age (to be exact coin-weight) of involved coin pile in ur wallet

please read here if pos and minting coins  is a miracle
http://bit.diamonds/community/index.php/topic,46.msg376.html#msg376
most devs dont understand pos full as described there so no shame if it confuse u at first read
if ya spend time u will understand mechanics

but its not required

the easy explaination open wallet one or two days a month for a few days in minting mode
and u will claim ur pos rewards is all u need to know if u not love to dig in deep into technical terms and cryptocoin mechanics

Earn more than, who has more coins in his wallet.
if you take one wallet with 1000 coins and two wallet with 500 coins, then in theory, there should be no difference between the income in these cases.
Many people now do not realize that soon mining mode Pow will be not available and will be only in the mode of production of POS if in your wallet a lot of coins you will be rich.
Diamond is the quick coin. It is much faster than the slow NVC and PPC moreover, the number of coins in the system is limited, be only 4.3 million coins.
This cost-effective and environmentally friendly system.

Very good question that I have never seen a clear answer for anywhere.

Two wallets with 100 DMD, one open 24x7x365, and the other 1 hour each month, what are the minting returns for each at the end of one year?

Diamond Wallet 2.0.4 is here  Smiley
This update is mandatory.

Windows:
/download

Mac:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/diamonddmd/files/diamond-qt-2.0.4.dmg/download

Source:
https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond

This version comes with:

1. Transform Block pacing security from POS to POW to have same protection level.

2. Configurable destination address for change, generated in send transactions. Especially useful for pools and exchanges, to eliminate the wallet bloat.
Can be set in diamond.conf as a parameter.

PoW reactivation will happen in about a week time - 27/28 September - block 577850; until then it's business as usual.

Wallet updated  Wink

We're waiting for PoW reactivation. Really good job.

yes i need to know this, does compounding effect the outcome. I'm guessing it does. And if it does the sooner minting happens the better hence my earlier question regarding number of pc's (or GPU) to power it.
