do you have to type the address you want to send coins to by hand?
seconding this question. there doesn't appear to be a paste function in simplewallet.exe

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

To paste, do a right click.
CTRL+V will not work.

Right click does nothing, Ctrl+v doesn't work... but nice, that worked. Thanks Smiley

Is there any way to set the mining threads in one batch file?
Opening 8 or 16 batch files is really a pain...

Is there any way to set the mining threads in one batch file?
Opening 8 or 16 batch files is really a pain...

Small mining guide for people using moneropool.org

Create these 2 batch files in the same map as your simpleminer.exe

start_simpleminer.bat
Code:
:while1
    simpleminer.exe --pool-addr=moneropool.org:5555 --login=YOUR_PUBLIC_ADDRESS_HERE  --pass 123
goto :while1

start_pool_mining.bat
Code:
set /p var="Number of threads: "

set /a "x = 1"
:while1
    if %x% leq %var% (
        start start_simpleminer.bat
        set /a "x = x + 1"
        goto :while1
    )

*********************************

To start mining, just double click "start_pool_mining.bat" and type in the number of threads you want to use.
If one of the threads disconnects, it will automatically try to reconnect.

we tested  the pool and find 6 blocks.
But just 3 block balance.
And pool can't pay so much.

I seen my balance +16 at a moment but soon I can't see this.
PLZ tell me why..

do you have to type the address you want to send coins to by hand?
seconding this question. there doesn't appear to be a paste function in simplewallet.exe
Right click on the title bar (the blue bar you are using for moving the window). Then click on edit -> paste. There are other ways to do the same - for example right click again on the title bar, then properties and then select "quick edit". Now you could paste just by right clicking the mouse on the windows and you could select with pressing the left mouse button....

What's the hash rate stats of some AMD and Intel cpu's?

Really hoping a gui version of the wallet is coming out soon....

Quote
Bottom line is that our network still only corresponds to ~7,000 modern quad-core CPUs. Believe me, that's not a lot. There are plenty of people who could easily whip up that many CPUs by themselves and do so legally (or at least discreetly). An easy example is server admins who could dedicate unused clock cycles to mining. Save the conspiracy theories for when we're at over 100,000 CPUs.

I see a lot of talk about server admins in this thread; there is little to fear. The large server farm managers are watching the power bill. The security team are watching the ports. Running untrusted code, opening firewall ports, wasting power - it's more than the admin's job is worth. There are some fringe areas like high school computer labs, research centers, ngos, etc where the admin has no oversight, but they are responsible, and have to ask themselves if the power cost is justified, and probably will only do it as an experiment - not long term.

Cool thanks.

How do these pool payout? Stats aren't clear about that on them. I'm on a pool that found a block, but I didn't get paid anything and I'm hashing ok.

This all seems to be too botnet friendly.

There was a block 9 minutes ago and I didn't get paid. Don't know what's going on either myself.

I think so, yesterday. Blocks are flying left and right on there so we'll see some time soon Smiley

I know pool mining is still very fresh but would be nice to get access to some better stats.

It took some time on moneropool.org. 30 - 60 mins maybe?
