Let's write a recommendation "do not mine on moneropool.com" at the first 'intro' ('sticky') page of this thread!

As i know few times in past happened that moneropool.com, blocked new users to join it, only the ones that mined there in past was able to. this they do until their hash power fall under 35%. I am sure will do the same. When price falls, hash power decrease and is hard to them to modify. Is not good that pool owner would actually kick people off, if that is possible at all. This thread dont need recommendation you proposed, just pool owner should be alerted. As it is right now is perfect, first are posted pools which gives all fee to developers. More should go mine there.

It is down to 38% now. Not ideal, but not terrible either. Also, don't forget that the numbers can often be misleading because network hash and pool hash use different methods of measurement.

Yes, from what i read here what people posted in past, that more RAM you have more it gets used. Least i saw someone said, run it on 3gb RAM.

No, daemon uses same RAM as it did back in May to me. And devs spend quite of some money to support what they do, not to mention they do it for free.

But, if feel i'm trying to spread FUD, then I feel sorry for you. Unlike most people here, i'm not in the tech industry. I'm just having an issue with my one PC which has bitmonerod running on it (nothing else, windows 7 w/ 8gb ram).

Do you know how to access Task Manager? Control Alt Delete, then select from menu. List the items by increasing memory usage, and monitor the top entries on the list while starting the daemon.

RAM usage is continuing to get worse as well. I have 7.67/8GB in use now and rising as it's syncing.

Hmmm... first post on the thread. Could you post a screenshot/snip of task manager (if using windows) or top (in linux) to demonstrate this?

i checked mine also. on 8gb ram uses 4.4gb. seems same as Quicken.

Ok I set virtual memory higher and my system is stable. I took it off the set number and checked the box that allows the system to automatically set the virtual memory size. stable now, thanks. End User Error

My win7 system with 8GB froze several times when syncing if i was doing other stuff. It was ok if i left alone during sync. Once synced, I could then use normally. Problem went away when i upgrade to 16GB.

This is POOL version.

Catalyst 13.12 is required for best performance and compatibility. Catalyst 14.x is supported as well (usually 14.x is about 1% slower than 13.12).

Set "GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT" environment variable as "100".

For multi-GPU systems, set Virtual Memory size in Windows at least 16 GB:
"Computer Properties / Advanced System Settings / Performance / Advanced / Virtual Memory".

This miner is free-to-use, however, current developer fee is 2.5%, miner mines 39 rounds for you and 1 round for developer.
If you don't agree with dev fee - don't use this miner, or use "-nofee" option.
Attempts to cheat and remove dev fee will cause a bit slower mining speed (same as "-nofee 1") though miner will show same hashrate.

This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx and 2xx, also 6xxx and 5xxx. No nVidia support.

This version is for Windows x64 and Linux x64 only. No 32-bit support.

Linux version also requires AMD APP SDK installed. Linux version has been tested in Cent 6.5 and Ubuntu 14.04.

I run bitmonerod/simplewallet on a windows laptop with 4gb ram - and have no problems whatsoever, even when i have not run the daemon for a week and need to resync the blockchain i have no issues. i also have browser open and irc client and all functions fine.

No question bitmonerod does use a log of RAM (gigabytes) so that plus other applications could certainly run out in 8 GB.

A good solution is to enable virtual memory as explained in the post after yours:

There has been a series of users having their bitcoins stolen when using their bitcoin wallet through tor. Tor's exit nodes can see your data. It's explained in the article.

Do not post your addresses online, for this is the only address you have. I've seen many people doing so; dood if you don't mind revealing your address, what's the point of using XMR anyway?

Simply knowing someone's address tells you nothing about their balance or their transaction history.

This is small misunderstanding. Monero addresses are safe to post online, list in a public directory etc. They don't appear on the blockchain, and the only thing you can do with an address is send coins to it. You can't identify transactions that were sent to the address.

Of course, nothing is ever quite 100%, it is possible there may be bugs or flaws. However, that is the intent of the design.
