Not only did i invest in the ipo. I have recently purchased more Smiley.
Shame about the launch, But the team has added 40% new code. So problems were bound to arise sooner or later and problems are there to be solved which the Dev team is busy doing as we speak. On the plus side i am happy i was able to pick up some more cheap coins.

I have faith in Syscoin and i am certain that i will have a great ROI.

To the Dev Team- Ignore all the moaning and just do your thing Wink

There are people that took their ICO and sold it, they should get a refund?
No.  They chose to sell.

There are people that bought coins on exchanges, they don't get a refund?
All coins should be re-purchased by Moolah at .00000518.  So yes, even non-ICO holders should be able to exchange back for BTC.

basically, Moolah should have to purchase the entire supply at ICO price.

yes, some people will feel like they are getting screwed - thats not avoidable.

Again, this would take a WORKING blockchain!!  We don't have one right now!!

The problem is how everyone's wallet interacts with the blockchain, having forked (4+), people throwing big hash mining solo and on pools etc, this was a time bomb waiting to happen.  I would wager that dev's here did not have the experience of the bitcoin launch.  That one forked too and they found the problems just like these guys are with client version reporting and disconnects, addnode use of nodes that had not been updated yet was a multiplier.

Just some kind advice to the dev team.  Please rename the syscoin.conf file example in your zip file.  Some of us got hosed by that by just a ctrl+c/ctrl+v on client updating.

As for authorized nodes, use a URL with DNS and round robin.  Only one node to add at that point for all authorized and quick gen of peers.dat file.

Hello. Please excuse my ignorance, quite new at this, don't have experience w/ wallets, mostly hold coins on exchanges for trading.

What is the procedure w/ this new fork for those with coins in wallets?

Do we have to download wallets again?

And if so how do we protect our coins? Export a backup and import it into the new wallet?

Will we have to input nodes again manually or will the new wallet be ready to go?

Any help/guidance is much appreciated.

Still have faith in Sys, want to see it succeed.

You just back up your wallet.dat to a safe place (ideally multiple safe places). It's found:

Windows: %APPROAM%\Syscoin
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Syscoin/
Linux: ~/.syscoin

As long as you keep that file as safe as you can you will be able to retrieve your funds. You can also run `dumpprivkey SysCoinAddressGoesHere` from the console window and securely record your private key for that address too. That means even if your wallet.dat gets corrupted, you can still access your funds by importing the keys into a new wallet. Bear in mind that you need to record the privkey for any address that contains funds to keep your coins safe.

You're asking me if I have a problem, while at 44 years old you are saying you want to throw rocks at someone's mom?

Thanks for the chuckle:-)

You keep your wallet.dat file (which should be backed up) and delete everything else in the folder before installing the new wallet (+/- a new .conf file with specific nodes if it is required).   The coins are not affected.
