Isn't 2 billion coins quite a lot? Maybe that explains the low price...

See this is why I still feel max coins should be reduced to 1 billion over 20 some-odd years as opposed to 2 billion over 80 some-odd years. Won't change anything about the coin whatsoever, but at least it will make people stop bringing up this damn (false) criticism.

At least I thought about doge and the huge amount of cheap coins flooding from the huge amount of coins. I guess SYS  is then different (haven't mined it so don't know) but it isn't really explained in the OP.

Yea, it's tough to notice unless you take the time to look at the mining structure and do the calculations yourself. Basically, even after 15.5 years of mining there will only be 828,633,600 coins on the market. So unless you're worried about 2 billion coins 86 years into the future, there's nothing to be concerned about.

for those that still have sync issuse with Win wallets,This is what worked for my wallet last night and seems to have worked for several others;

delete everything in the appdata folder EXCEPT wallet .dat,create a .conf file with this,then restart.

addnode=54.186.125.97
addnode=54.186.248.126
addnode=95.211.57.109
addnode=192.99.10.27
addnode=37.187.71.108

31.220.4.41 updated node, block 3531
how do I make it work on a mac then

Just something that might work for you guys have issues.
I just tried this on a fresh build of windows 8..

Perhaps you are in the middle of some of the underhandedness being directed toward the coin and resources. I am not accusing you, forgive my poor choice of wording. What I mean is you might be subjected to attacks against the coin and its resources, not that you are the attacker.

Did you get the raw file and manually put the software in a folder, or did you run the installer? It's possible that there's some previous files in a different location messing it all up?

Did you follow the steps here? --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587080.msg8429313#msg8429313
Including the part about killing the possibly still running background process?

Are you getting as far as the GUI and just not syncing? Or are you not seeing the wallet load at all?

Sorry to ask about it, but I don't think I saw you post about it before. It wouldn't surprise me if I missed it.

for those that still have sync issuse with Win wallets,This is what worked for my wallet last night and seems to have worked for several others;

delete everything in the appdata folder EXCEPT wallet .dat,create a .conf file with this,then restart.

I've done everything that people have suggested and still can't sync. Should I just wait for the next version of the wallet?

Yes, followed everything here, wallet opens ok but I just keep seeing "No block source available". I'm not in a hurry to access my coins so can wait it out but others seem to have synced ok. The debug file shows all the nodes getting disconnected.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Thank you. I was waiting for dude to notice it himself. Guess I expected too much.

And the funniest part... It's my post with all the help that keeps getting quoted. I wrote it.

It's right in the middle of the posts you keep quoting. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587080.msg8429313#msg8429313

So SYS is currently criminally undervalued. Nice to know this.

Dude, really? You've been quoting it yourself. YOU. Yes, YOU.

That clip was pasted just above your question. Read just above your post at the time. Dev paste-quoted my link to somebody else, just above you.

Yes, my original post was a couple pages earlier, but had been referred to and quoted a few times afterward. Including just above your whiney boo-hooing.

Do we need to video-cam us browsing the forum and clicking the links and reading the questions/answers - then post it on YouTube, just so you can grasp the thing?

Thank you. I was waiting for dude to notice it himself. Guess I expected too much.

After finding a few blocks, I cannot find anymore.. Seems like the wallet is stuck, I tried restarting it several times to no avail..

Known issue ?

There are some issues with the wallet at the moment. Pools are reporting tons of DDOS attacks and it does seem rogue blocks are being introduced into the network from whoknowwhere..

This is causing some issues with the wallets.. We are in the process of fixing this and hardening.

How can I create new offer in marketplace? If I'm trying to create one I got error: "Error creating new offer: This transaction requires fee of at least 0.00......".
Any tips?

You need coins to do that. Basically service fees

When I was trying to create new order I had 0.25 SYS. Wallet should informs user about insufficient funds. What's more it should also informs what is a cost of creation new offer. I'm using Windows wallet.

Yes, pool.syscoin.met hasn't paid out in 4 hours. Probably time to switch back off mining SYS. Sad

Please can you work with Serraz and Khaos to get the merge mining working? That way at least when there are wallet troubles I'm still getting LTC not wasting my electricity mining nothing.  Undecided

@DEV, I created two aliases (a and t) but I can't find them in wallet 0.1.2 , just disappeared, the tx id, is there a way to get them back?

Just in case people don't know.

Here is a list of commands and descriptions :
https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/blob/master/COMMANDS.md

In most cases you have to call it in the following order
new then followed by activate

But do be careful, the fees are quite high initially in order to avoid attacks on the blockchain.
They will be lowered on a sliding scale over the next 90 days..

As most of these services are a first in the crypto world we need to do some price discovery and see how everything works out and if we need to adjust..

Fee schedule here :

Just finished the service fee tiers doc:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x8dv0pGyRCeT8aXIEQpgNiq0ENxJKwEO_PmZqnxJERk/edit?usp=sharing

The only thing I am not sure about is if offers aka marketplace will be priced per kb or per offer; the sheet has them priced per kb. Please take note of the scaling value of Syscoin from 1k - 1.5k satoshi and the decreasing cost in USD of the services relative to that increase in value. This shows 6months but as you can see in a few places and via the blockheights this is compressed to 90days. Open to feedback! Lmk if we got any numbers wrong but almost all formula driven (for sanity purposes, this doc alone represents many hours of work).

If you want to play around with commands :
...
..
how does one go about using the marketplace anyways.

The marketplace uses the "offer" commands. This is intended for devs to build on as business opportunities for them (of course once we iron out the smaller wallet issues listed above). Remember all services cost fees so if you want to play with these for free - use the testnet. In the console type "help" you'll see a number of "offer" commands. These commands are used to list/view/buy items on the Syscoin blockchain. If you type "offernew help" for example it will tell you how to create an offer, after which you will need to activate it before it can be purchased by others using "offeractivate".

We have a boilerplate market for devs started (https://github.com/syscoin/sysmarket) who want to start building on this- we are happy to take pull requests related to this front-end to bootstrap people and get them going. It uses the Syscoin JSON RPC and admittedly lacks documentation which we will add over this week. We're also adding more functionality to the QT wallet itself related to the market, but the QT wallet is intended to be a "reference client" so it just mirrors the daemon commands.

OK update, apparently all pools are having issues and getting a ton of orphans, so mining time is being wasted. Would be nice to at least be notified so we could switch to another coin while it's worked on, the status says everything is fine "happy mining" and it seems that it is far from fine, no really cool not being transparent so miners can make an informed decision if they want to risk mining or not. You get your facts right. It was there then and you just wouldn't look.

Enough. I'm finished with you. Don't ask me any stupid questions you should research yourself. I never used profanity toward you, yet the first time you addressed me, you called me a prick.

I even backtracked to find out what caused this whole thing and why you won't stop dogging me.

That's it for me. I wash me hands of the whole thing.

Thank you for that, it's the right thing to do, and I know this is not the pool ops fault, but pools have to take responsibilty to warn people of potential problems with the back end so they can choose to keep mining there or not knowing all of the facts.

pool.syscoin.me doesn't agree, their attitude to it is "meh". Really bad attitude on their IRC channel basically they think people should jsut "get over it". Roll Eyes
