Is it possible to merge mine more than two coins?

Do I just add the extra node & wallet address for each coin or can I only merge mine two coins?

Thx

No, you can merge mine only two coins,unfortunately

As for your second question, yes, if you want to merge mine FCN and one of the other cryptonote coins, you'll need to run the daemon and wallet for FCN and for the other coin as well.

OR, if you get SoloMiner, you can merge mine ByteCoin and FCN without having to run either daemon locally.

I actually think that FCN is a valid option. (not because we're in the FCN thread Cheesy)

This coin is the one and only merged mining coin in CryptoNote so far. It's not expensive atm and has a bright future, since it didn't even hit pools yet. And as we all know: merged mining coin without a MM pool is not as good.

Basically, what I'm try to say here is this: this coin have a good room for development and developer himself seems very nice and active. Maybe he lacks a little bit in marketing but it can be fixed with a strong community which seems to be gathering here.

This is pretty much it, everybody knows about the positive side of MM, same amount of work, double the coins etc. etc.

this one is really awesome, especially a white version, it's like a reversed solar eclipse, very well done.

tired of identical bitcoin forks? try out BCN - no ASICs, no transaction tracking https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512747.0

Sorry for the noob question, I don't understand what is a "block explorer"? Why is it needed? Does FCN support it? Huh

Sorry for the noob question, I don't understand what is a "block explorer"? Why is it needed? Does FCN support it? Huh

From https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Blocks :
Quote
Data is permanently recorded in the Bitcoin network through files called blocks. A block is a record of some or all of the most recent Bitcoin transactions that have not yet been recorded in any prior blocks. They could be thought of like the individual pages of a city recorder's recordbook (where changes to title to real estate are recorded) or a stock transaction ledger. In all but a few exceptional cases, new blocks are added to the end of the record (known in Bitcoin as the block chain), and once written, are never changed or removed. Each block memorializes what took place immediately before it was created.

As far as I know, all cryptocoins, like Fantomcoin, Bitcoin, etc., all use their own form of a blockchain to record transactions and other data. You can see the link above for more details. Although it's specific to Bitcoin, the same principles apply.

Edit: For example, if you go to www.blockchain.info (has a blockchain explorer for Bitcoin), you can search by lots of criteria, including your BTC address, transaction hash, etc. Simply put, a blockchain explorer helps you to find and see data in the blockchain.

Fantom coin was launched 5/6/2014 17:45 GMT
http://fantomcoin.org/

Vote for FCN to be added to exchange here https://comkort.com/vote#FCN

FCN were added to the swaphole.com exchange!

Ongoing Logo contest can be found HERE

SoloMiner discussion topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=611121.0

Bounty for the OP translation: 20 FCN for each post.

Specifications:

- PoW algorithm: CryptoNight (64-bit CPU-only);
- 60 sec blocks;
- emission curve 22 => 50% coins will be emitted in 6 years;
- block reward decreases according to the formula (264 - 1 - A)*2-22*10-12 where A = supply mined to date;
- difficulty retargets every block;
- merged mining with Bytecoin (BCN), Monero (BMR, MRO), QuazarCoin or any CN based coin. New blockchain needs no additional hashpower - it uses Bytecoin/BCN, Monero/MRO, QuazarCoin/QCN blocks or shares as PoW. Miners are free to choose "donor" chain they like. In case other chains based on CryptoNote will appear they also can be used as "donor" chains.

First merged mining instructions for those who doesn't like GUI:

First of all be sure of two things:

1. Launch Bytecoin's/Bitmonero's/QuazarCoin's daemon and wait till its synchronization.

2. Start FantomCoin's daemon. The process is very similar to BCN's: launch command line, navigate to the right folder and launch fantomoind.exe . Use "save" command after synchronization  Wink

3. Create FCN's address. Again it is the same process for BCN, MRO and QCN: open another instance of command line, navigate to Fantomcoin’s folder and generate new wallet with “simplewallet”.

simplewallet --generate-new-wallet=example_wallet.bin --pass=12345

Here “example_wallet.bin” is the name of the wallet (use .bin file extension) and “12345” is the password for your new wallet.

4. One more command line is needed. Navigate to Fantomcoin's folder and launch minerc.exe using the next command:

minerc --node1=127.0.0.1:8081 --node2=127.0.0.1:24081 --wallet1=%your BCN/MRO/QCN address% --wallet2=%your FCN address%

--node1=127.0.0.1:8081 is IP and BCN's daemon port. If you want MM with MRO you need to use this one: --node1=127.0.0.1:18081 instead
--node2=127.0.0.1:24081 is IP and FCN's  daemon port

5. Enjoy merged mining!

Merged mining with GUI:

1. Start daemons and make sure they are synchronized with the network. Use save command after it.
2. Start GUI miner. Add BCN/MRO and FCN addresses to the right field. Click "Start"
3. PROFIT!

Really really good explanation. One question: what is the daemon port for QCN?

If minerc says found nonc(something) height xxxxx and same height xxxxx is listed in blue on Daemon is that a found block =good? Asking because i've had it come up 3-4 times but nothing has added to wallet . Im merged mining with QCN and have had little luck with 127hr.
