Read most of the discussions. Not giving Aussies a bad name, GES has a main office in Australia.  Just ensuring the validity of this Uro. Can you explain why they want people in this 'community' who are all in the business of making some money to fund this???

Well isn't that like saying Overstock or Newegg should fund bitcoin projects just because they accept it as a currency?

I think they are the ones taking a risk here, offering to exchange millions of pounds of Urea for a digital currency, to me 4 companies offering to even back a crypto coin is doing more than enough IMO.
+1 are you going to call the ceo of newegg next time a bitcoin release candidate is submitted.  personally if i was the ceo of some company and we were going to use new technology in an novel way and 100 dudes from the internet called my cellphone id be pissed...

$MAID & $BTC other than that some short hodls and some long held garbage.

As a routine user of the BitcoinJ based wallets for Bitcoin and Dogecoin on a mid range quad core Cortex A7 device with 1GB RAM - I can tell you that its very laggy because the app has to actually find and connect to network nodes as well as perform SPV header verification. This situation is going to be worse for lower tier dual and single core devices with 512MB RAM.

We can port BitcoinJ to Uro in about 3 days. But the usability is not that great (and BitcoinJ is never going to work on non-Java platforms like iPhone, Windows Phone, etc...). We could port CoinPunk to Uro in about 3 days, but these web account storage services are routinely attacked. This is why we want to go towards a more modern solution that is fast, has dedicated operators looking after the infrastructure on redundant hardware, and conserves battery life, bandwidth and time for users lacking in these resources.

Uro: A Real Long Term Currency, 1 URO = 1 metric tonne of Urea N46 fertilizer[/url]
Urea N46 tracks gradual increases in energy and food prices over the long term.

URO ON BLOCKCYPHER CROWDFUNDING INTITIATIVE

BlockCypher is the most cost effective and scalable infrastructure for building secure lightweight wallets and other apps around a blockchain cryptocurrency. We have tested BlockCypher extensively over the last month (on their BTC port) and have found it to be the most reliable and fastest API for mobile wallets. For Uro, BlockCypher is the ideal solution for delivering secure and high performance wallets for low speed internet connections. BlockCypher allows us to do the following without directly communicating with the Uro blockchain from mobile devices (A slow, bandwidth intensive and battery draining exercise, as any BitcoinJ based android wallet user can attest):

1. Create transactions in the cloud at high speed, then sign them on the device: fast and safe
2. Display latest transactions when the user wants to see them, instead of constantly listening for new transactions: saves battery
3. Fast, cloud powered single shot transaction broadcasts via the cloud: saves bandwidth and time
4. Redundant servers running in datacentres: high availability without latency in waiting to connect to nodes

The cost of setting up Uro on BlockCypher is a once off $6000 while the monthly redundant cloud hosting cost is $200. This is significantly more affordable then APICoin, who charges $1000 per month. The CEO of BlockCypher, Catheryne Nicholson, has agreed to help us in transparently facilitating the crowdfunding by coming on to the forum (or other crowdfunding platform we choose as a community) and posting an official BlockCypher BTC address so that all donations/pledges go directly into funding BlockCypher's Uro port.

As a community, lets brainstorm the best way to quickly crowdfund CypherBlock for Uro so we can get Nuro released as soon as possible. BlockCypher will also usher in a whole new era of app opportunities for anyone that wants to develop for Uro. Post your comments here and on reddit.

Recommended points of discussion:

a. Which platform: here on the forum or elsewhere?
b. Promotion: tips and strategies.

Alternative API discussions are also welcome as long the functionality is on par with or better then BlockCypher.

I would love to support this initiative. But as a community, knowing a bit of background on how URO came into place will go a long way in gathering support for the crowdfunding.

Issue an asset on http://counterparty.co or use http://swarmcorp.com/

i think the issue is having a very basic mobile app.

Looks good. Where would members deposit funds?

vegetarian: currently still deciding amongst the options: here, counterparty and swarm are the options suggested so far.
BlockCypher will post their BTC address to the platform we decide on.

Heads of companies are always pushing their product especially when they get started. They don't push their product through so called employees....Richard Branson...look at major enterprises even digital currency such as this one.  Director of GES is not here pushing their Uro and is not available to answer questions Huh One post says Nilesh Nair is the Director of GES. Where is he on this forum Huh

Most commodites have some investment from the companies, otherwise, they don't get it off the ground. Can't expect a community who have little knowledge about the companies etc as other members have noted.

Coins or products don't get pumped if community has answers and the community don't post unnecessary things or inappropriate responses. Just genuine questions. Why worry if you have a legitimate currency???

Did you do any other research on urocoin instead of asking questions here? I am sure if you did you would have been able to point out Nilesh Nair from the picture (it's the surfer).
Also, did you invest or do you plan to invest in urocoin? If not, what is the reason you are so active in this forumthead?
