Watch Dooglus work on the new CLAM client live: https://www.twitch.tv/dooglus1

Any news on the new client? Thank you.

You can see X, Doog and Conor working on it here: https://github.com/nochowderforyou/clams/commits/2.1.0

We need more volunteer coders contributing code and helping.

Here is the list of shit left to do:

* wallet import testing
* gitian building
* finish updating docs
* check staketo, split, combine, etc
* dust threshold issue  ( Transation amount too small (0.0000001  < 0.0003)  )

there's still an issue with the dust threshold being too big:
Code:
$ cc2 sendtoaddress xXXxXxxXXXxXxXXXXXxXXXXXXXxxxxxXxX 0.00000001
Transaction amount too small (0.00000001 < 0.0003)

SUP CLAM BUTT Smiley
fantastic, there are a lot of updates here, this will provide a positive impact to the project, they also do not forget about the expansion of the network of partners for better marketing.

BTI is looking to dooglus for endless salvation===>  NAKOWA is in our telegram *cough-wink*  Cool Cool Cool

There is Just-dice.com, there is FreeBitcoins.com, Bit-exo.com and a few more that stake for you.

Bitpop is an exchange that stakes your coins too.

Running your own wallet is a good call though if you can.

Yes, but he asked for "safe" places. It's generally not considered a good idea to store your coins with a third party : "not your private keys = not your CLAMs" as Andreas often says (or something like that, anyway). I don't know of any reason not to trust the listed third parties, but it's safer to control your own private keys.

Somebody is staking their coins directly into the Just-Dice staking wallet.

Here's an example: http://khashier.com/tx/2c54d03bc4d0eaaa097b19f447fe90e202950bc118252a96ddb6265a09f9dcb3

It splits the 1 CLAM reward into 2222 separate pieces and gives them to Just-Dice. I don't know if it's someone's idea of a denial of service attack or what's going on. It seems very unlikely to me that someone accidentally set "splitsize=0.00045" and "rewardto=xJDCLAMZ..." in their CLAM config file.

The address is staking pretty often. It has sent us 23 CLAMs worth of dust so far in less than 24 hours.

It stopped as soon as I posted his. Now he's staking to his own address.

Dear Santa CLAMS,

Depends how much it would cost in fees to convert all that dust to mud. Can outputs that small even be spent? I seem to recall some coins will reject transactions with an input value being less than the minimum tx fee, but I can't see anything like this in the CLAM source. Obviously an output of that size can be created, because it's right there in the blockchain. Comments, dooglus?

Comments, dooglus?

Funny you should ask. I spent a few hours figuring it out. It turns out that you can fit 677 outputs into a transaction before hitting the 100kB tx size limit. Each output is worth 0.00045 CLAM, giving a total of 0.30465 CLAMs. The tx fee for a transaction of that size is 0.01 CLAMs, so you end up with 0.29465 CLAMs. The fee is 3.28% of the total value, so it's worth paying. Here's an example of a 100kB transaction paying 0.01 CLAMs in fees to clean up 677 dust outputs and earning 0.29465 CLAM for doing so: http://khashier.com/tx/99abca5af7990b578e481a5d85dd9d6ccd57c9faf1e19180fc8e995ecadb257c

I could instead have let the staking wallet see the dust and automatically merge it in 100 outputs at a time as it stakes. That way you don't pay any fee at all but it makes staking slower (it takes time to sign 100 outputs) which probably increase the orphan rate - maybe that was the goal of the spammer in the first place, to slow down JD's staking so he would get a bigger share of the stakes. That is how the spam from the first 7 spam transactions got cleaned up before I noticed what was going on. Here's an example of a regular stake pulling in 99 dust outputs when a 35 CLAM output stakes: http://khashier.com/tx/b6d340915eb58d51925b6d2f4d633f4b6a59610dc65f80234dc9742b60053c25

FreeBitcoins.com has launched our "swap" tool that allows people to trade BTC, CLAM, and DOGE between the 3 of them.

http://swap.freebitcoins.com

The max amount of coins you can buy at once will be growing over time.

(site is functional, but we are still finding and fixing "easter eggs".  All feedback is appreciated.)

Real world on Just-Dice
An invested deposit from Jan 2018 yields ~30% (29.4)

This is the 2018 bear so .... currently a whopping USD loss and a modest BTC gain.

Can't confirm the CLAM client results at this time.
Should be slightly better if you consider site commission but JD performance will also vary on the profits from house edge.

Running your own client is definitely more erratic in rewards as you might expect. Your Keys, Your Coins.

Rule of thumb used to be (a year or so  ago) 1k Clams gets you a clam a day. Likely need a few more for that same return now.

The difficulty now is 228801, so you need aprox. 2000 clams to stake once a day. 100 clams will get you a coin each 20 days, give or take. But the difficulty is varying wildly in the last months, ranging from 100000 to 250000
