If someone could tell me how to sync the wallet that would be great.
Download a bootstrap. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=623147.msg9772191#msg9772191Also for syncing I noticed, that having multiple connection to other nodes creates "ERROR: ProcessBlock() : already have block XYZ" and trigger lookups for Orphan blocks which slows down the synchronisation. I usually reduce the maximum connections while synchronizing to have only one source and not get ERRORs and ORPAHNS. Set maxconnections=1 in clam.conf and restart the client Note: There is slight chance you get connected to some malicious node and you download forked chain, but I never encountered that. Plus after you finish syncing you can check the hash of the last block with some public clam block explorer. Note 2: The sync takes some time to finish, depends on the CPU of you machine (it basically verifies whole chain on the fly) - it can take few days (when I tried to sync using Raspberry Pi in January, it took a week to fully sync) I have downloaded the bootstrap and copied it. But my wallet stops importing at block 1,775,795 ( 1 year and 12 week (s) behind ). The " importing blocks " has also disappear from my wallet , What should I do ?

If you already have enough capital, you can allocate funds from the following bounty to invest in ICO, or coin that you think is good. Do not be easily influenced to make investments that offer high profits.

Another Poloniex withdrawal - another withdrawal ERROR I am starting thinking that the issue is in the high amount of the withdrawal - too many inputs in transaction leading into the error. I'll try smaller amount next time and let you know it it helps. (After the support credit the coins back) EDIT: Coins are back, it took only 7 hours now. The support is getting better. :-)

"already have block" means that the Clam tries import block from bootstrap, but its already in the DB (maybe from the previous run). Its a bit strange, as the bootstrap from the link should have 2467400 blocks. Anyway - after finishing bootstrap it should start syncing from the network. Do you have at least one connection?

Those errors probably are from the network sync - I get a bunch of the same "already have block" errors when syncing any substantial amount (for example, after the client being shut down for a month). For some reason, it appears the client is asking multiple peers for the same block, or range of blocks, even though it already has them. For example, my debug.log contains this 38 times: ERROR: ProcessBlock() : already have block (orphan) 2035698dc4b0cf0617085d8448442a2ab6b3e63caa4ebcd01316186efe4736f7Doing some quick counting, there are over 4000 different blocks which arrived 5+ times during the one sync.

I noticed similar "already have block (orphan)" when I was syncing last time. I think its because its getting same block from different nodes at different time. I "solved" it by reducing number of connections in clam.conf maxconnections=1 When the clam is connected to the only one other node, this orphans completely stopped appearing.

Hi, I consider running Clamcoin service providing daily blockchain snapshots because its the quickest way to get new wallet synchronized. I had to recently re-synchronize my node and it was slow and painful process. So I can imagine that it could be helpful for a Clam newcomer to get the wallet ready in shorter time.
PROS + Wallet is synchronized immediately after downloading/unzipping snapshot
CONS - You have to trust that the snapshot is providing correct blockchain
So my question is - Do you guys think its generally good idea? - Is it actually running somewhere already and I just missed its existence? - Are there any drawbacks I haven't considered?
Thanks
Guys, can I get some feedback? Do you think its a good idea?

Yes. Xploited has been busy rebuilding /swap for FreeBitcoins.com, but we are almost done and will move back into finishing the CLAM update. We need more talent contributing though. Kinda sucks being a few person-show, but progress is being made slowly but surely.

YoBit is a scam from as far as I can see. I remember watching the volume on their games and thinking "no fucking way" too. I think it is safe to assume coins there are not safe. We have reached out to them and have gotten no response for a very long time.

I have downloaded the bootstrap and my clam wallet is now up to date. But when I search the wallet address: xJCN6a8jiBj1hEEdnmJf43UJUGzwn7Fd3W on https://prohashing.com/explorer/Clam/it says "No block hash, transaction hash, block number, or wallet address was found. " I have also created a new address, same response. Tried sending some test coin from Poloniex, still pending.

Hi, that is normal for any cryptocurrency - when there is no transactions, the address is "something like invisible" for the explorers. Its because the amount of possible addresses is so huge, it would be impossible to add all of them. But some explorers can at least validate, that the address is valid. The Poloniex withdrawal is just painfully slow - you have to wait. I sent you some*, so you don't need to wait for your address appear in the blockchain explorer - use it wisely for exploring with the Clam - welcome and enjoy! *Sorry for the typo in the Clamspeech :-)
