Have a feeling we're about to see some movement on mintpal; looks like there's a small shakeout happening

I will say... that was a 0.9 btc shakeout.  Wink

this "movement" is happening since months. hopefully there is real movement (upwards) in the near future...
People keep saying that, but I have the feeling that XC will stay stable on 140k and than after a view months it will drop.

But that is just my feeling.

Shit guys, just roll with it...trying to lighten up the mood in here and boost moral. People are freaking out and being aggresive with each other, no reason to be condescending towards other community members. @CryptoGretzky, no kidding it wasn't a real shakeout. Think I'll shake myself out of the thread for a couple days til people regain their normal composure and politeness.

I think the quietness and calmness before really got people agitated.   They needed to vent it out. Wink

Another random thought of what could be build on top of XC. Sharepoint like lists hosted on XCloud. Maybe even relational lists? Maybe even scripted automated workflows.

Also maybe meta and master data structures. In a sense creating a product database but of words their relations and definitions. So if I create a topic in an XClist I could assign meaning to that word and others could strengthen that meaning by voting.

Or just create XC4chan with anon lists

Hey,
..just an idea, but what do you think,...will it be possible to install an Client direkt into a Modem?
The modem runs 24/7 a week,...I think only nerds will run an RasperyPi or have a Computer which is every time online.

In Germany most oft the modems are from "AVM" and called "Fritzbox",... this modems integrated phone-server, FTP-server,.....and a lot more. (I think in other countrys your modems also give you a lot of functions like this)

And it´s possible to go root and install your own Software.

Of course,... you can´t create an Client for every modem,.... I just tell you my idea after a glass of wine  Roll Eyes ...so forgive me my bad english  Grin

Haha had the same idea just 30 minutes ago. And i thought that it could work with the Torstick/ISO. My modem is also a Fritzbox and i use it for having my music available for all my online devices.
But maybe someone with knowledge can answer this.

would be nice but as the sources are closed and the code depends on boost and qt, this wont work (even with all sources available). your modem also gets no updates and is therefore a gapping security hole and not a good place for your wallet

btw it should work on a RasperyPi when the sources are available

Why it will not be possible to get updates to the "Modem-Client" like on an PC-Client?
For example,... you register to a special newsletter which only send you an email when an update for your client is awaylabel.
So you are anonymous, an it´s on your own head to install the update or leave it.

I'm new to XC. Have Mac client on my pc and wife's pc. We exchanged addresses/pubkeys but when we try to send msg, we get error msg: "message encryption failed". Is this due to known bug in Xchat or is it something I may be missing? I have 710 XC in my client, wife has zero right now. thanks

If you are both on the same internal network (home network)  that won't work as it goes out to other nodes to be mixed and tries to connect to the client coming back in.

I have said what needed to be said. You trolls can go play now.

Stop attacking respected XC supporters who merely voice their opinion. Some of us are here since May, and we have the right to give our opinion on decisions made by either the dev team or the foundation. If our opinion is different than yours that doesn't mean that we are trolls or fudders. Ignoring criticism by devaluating the source is a sign of immaturity.

I have kept silent until now, but I have had enough of this. I appreciate your efforts for XC, but the way you present yourself the last couple of pages is unworthy of an XC foundation member.

Couldn't have said it better.

+100 on this.
One person keep making non-factual statements against a community is trolling. But an entire community speak out against one person is a public outrage.

This “silverkinguk” guy’s disrespectfulness and authoritative tone has clearly caused an outrage here. XC team member shouldn’t allow to speak to our community this way.
But those are just sentimental issues, let’s focus on the real issues here, the “collaboration”.

I encourage our community to go over the Qibuck thread and learn more about them. You can see that Qibuck is a much inferior coin and this “collaboration” does not make any sense. This “silverkinguk” guy and that qiwomen are the co-founder of Qibuck. It seems that he is much more invested in the Qibuck project than he is with the XC community. Is he doing what’s best for XC or is he doing what’s best for him and Qibuck? There is clearly a conflict of interest here.
It does appear to me that this guy is using his title of “XC foundation member” to promote his own coin. What has he really done for the XC community anyway? Does he really deserve to be on the XC team?

I think we should have a voting system in case like this. For every 1000xc you hold, you will have 1 vote. We as a community, should be able to vote on whether or not we want a “collaboration” with his coin, and whether or not we want this person to be on the team. NO one person should have the power to just come in here and tell everybody to shut up and listen to him.

I don't know about modems but I've been thinking about the Raspbery Pi. Does any1 here now if that is possible?
Could you use the torstick on a Pi? What would it run on?
Would be a nice and cheap way to set up a XNode etc.

I promise you that this collaboration will be hugely to XC's benefit.

The details of it will be announced tomorrow.

Personally I'm not of the opinion that silverkinguk conducted himself ethically. However this isn't to assert that the people who attacked qiwoman last night and who repeatedly criticised the collaboration acted ethically either. It was a shameful mess all round.

It has also been made known to me that some people associated with XC have been fudding other coins, and this is completely awful. We loathe FUD wherever it may be found and XC does not support it or associate itself with it in any way.

If anyone here has fudded any other coin (including QiBuck), I ask you please to publicly apologise (both here and on its thread) and to publicly state that your actions have nothing whatsoever to do with XC.

XC has slowly but surely won back credibility after the FUD launched at it by a competitor did it so much damage. Why make a mockery of what XC has fought hard to put behind it?
