So I'm out eating dinner with the kids and I look over and see a Nike advertisement. Why would they want to use this technology or other Nike type companies? I'm not a techie, just trying to understand this announcement.

I think it is more realistic to assume companies like cryptocurrency news sites, cloud mining sites, mining gear companies, exchanges etc. would be the ones advertising.

Maybe in a few years when crypto is "mainstream", and potentially thousands and thousands of people are using their XC app throughout the day, then larger brands would start displaying ads.

If you're wondering which companies will buy in-wallet advertising, yeah, probably the above.

If you're asking who'll buy XC content services for serving normal websites, well, everyone, since it'll be cheaper than Google.

Yup.

Bitcoin is building the ecosystem. XCurrency is building the application. I wish I would know XCurrency earlier. Web 3.0 will be a revolution on internet because people are really eager the privacy. The first section of the announcement said the Web 3.0 is starting with in-wallet ads for QiBuck. I think I will stay tuned tightly at this thread & XC partnership QiBuck.

I believe there will be more excited news in the next few weeks.

I guess the next release of XC is the new UI. Hope the dev could give us a due date of the new UI release.

Thanks.

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/xcurrency-begins-selling-highly-anticipated-xchat-tor-stick/2014/08/07

Im reading that XC will be (or already has) unveiled "TorStick" which seems to be a physical product..

Can anyone knowledgeable elaborate on this "Tor Stick" and how it's used?

Im doing a research project on XC and there doesn't seem to be much information around on this. Very interesting coin so far though team, One of the most unique that I have seen!  Smiley

The TOR stick is a USB Drive with the XC logo for those who want an official TOR STICk... However, you can download the ISO onto your own generic USB drive and they both function the same.

Now with that said, Tails is a linux bootable live cd with all of this enabled. So you are good to go right off the bat.  You can install TOR onto any browser in windows.

XC Tor stick is just that, a bootable linux distro with tor enabled and the XC wallet installed.  Once you understand how the onion router (tor) works you can see how you can tag other services onto it.

Cool, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Doesn't seem to be as complicated as I thought it was  Grin

Oh WAIT so XC is doing what ethereum is TRYING to do - and without the IPO.  Oh, and XC already has the product to show for it.

Feel bad if you bought Ether IPO.

No.  XC is not trying to do what Ethereum is trying to do.

And Ethereum has already delivered a development language, dev tools, browser, and touring blockchain all pre-launch.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVupNB_uFwk

I'm happy you guys are proving blockchain advertising or whatever.  But it's not the same as a touring complete blockchain that Eth's trying to build.  Why does everybody in crypto turn into chearleaders with pom poms and have no clue what's going on?

*Grunt*  And no.  Before I get accused of shilldom - I don't own any Ethers.

Blockchain advertising is just the FIRST app to utilize the XC architecture... XC will allow distributed bloc chain based apps.. same shit as ether man.  The difference is.. ETHER still does not exist  XC does

unprecedented possibilities lie in XC!

I think that XC is doing what Ethereum is planning to do, in the general sense of utilising the blockchain for web 3.0, smart contract, etc. However:

- XC has launched already.

- XC has realised the importance of privacy and has incorporated this into its core architecture. As far as I know this is not a core focus in Ethereum.

- XC does not plan a Turing-complete scripting language; instead, there will be other ways (which I won't disclose now) for third parties to harness XC's platform.
If understand it correct this tech I still in development. If so, any ETA?
Also can you clarify the entry of information?  In the website or API: Are we talking about a wallet api to store  or a website?

How about the data
, will it be stored in the chain or some hash/index to proof its unaltered? If so what are the limits?

Will this change anything in regards to a mobile wallet, eg blockchain size?

The content won't be stored on the blockchain, since that'll cause some crazy bloat. If I'm not mistaken it'll be indexed on the blockchain, retrieved through accessing the blockchain, and stored (encrypted) in local storage available to Xnodes.

Here you go, XC explorer: http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/#!rich

The first one is better IMO.

Thanks, just woke up & only have my phone to follow the news
I like external storage,  no real size limits.
Did synechist also mention the api somewhere,  can we use our own wallet to upload to the network?

Good question. Our initial technology will allow advertisers and other clients to buy XC's services via a webpage or API, and so there will be ways and means to filter content.

On a side note: for now I'm happy the XC wallet shows no advertising,  we had a lot of hacks distributed by adverts on major news side the last couple of years in Holland.

Still fantasizing about services around this tech, how about proving you where the first to create something?
Just upload it to the chain and it's there nicely time stamped with the assurance it is not changed in any way?
You only need to download when your claim is disputed.
