XChat received much hype when we released it (without group chat) and it worked flawlessly.
Seriously?

Seriously? well, I would separate "flawlessly" from "optimally" at its core sense, but yeah it didn't involve any of the group chat client bugs we have been facing the last coule of days. I chatted with at least 4-5 different members through the group-less chat client and it was always instant, as well as featuring a crashless wallet.

It scares me to see people saying that this is a "buying opportunity." I have seen that in many investments in the past and it only serves to pacify as the price continues to decline.
I followed vertcoin from $1.10 down to $.30 before selling & was happy I did when it hit $.04. It's all perspective. Those early to the party have no risk and aren't stuck (like you). They can afford to sell at a profit or get out at break even. I think that no-one here considers the price to be realistic at present. This, to me, suggests that there'll be a lot of resistance to the price dropping much further - and probably only in wild idiotic single dumps like just now.
Those who have already purchased at a higher price naturally think the price being lower than what they valued it at is too low. The problem is - those making the market decisions in a bear market are potential buyers (vs a bull in which sellers do). These people view things different than hodlers do. People who view XC as undervalued now probably ran out of buying ammunition back when they thought it was at a discounted price (vs severely undervalued as they perceive it now) While the blocknet & supernet are interesting ideas from a theoretical standpoint crypto gets so little use that exchanging between coins to use a certain coins feature is almost unheard of. If I do druge deals, dipping in and out of any altcoin is going to cause massive massive slippage (like 20 - 50% of a $100K deal). So the anon feature is pretty much useless without volume. It's a bit like building an empty city. People using altcoins are not using them for their features - but speculating on their future. So to make it possible to use all altcoin features from a single integrated wallet for people who are all betting on their individual coins just doesn't process with me as something that will be a gamechanger. Edit: While I'm not exactly bullish on XC for a variety of reasons. The fact that the main developer will be sidetracked by developing this blocknet instead of focusing on getting everything working well on the main coin (debugging group chat, making solid releases for Mac/Linux (you guys sell a torstick for gods sake), releasing opensource code to get buy in of community) would make me suspect that he's running low on personal funds and needing an alternate funding source (blocknet ICO) which seems to follow the altcoin reviews. This would further concern me. Since the open sourcing & XC completion appears to be being put on the backburner for blocknet then price decline would make sense.

No, slippage will be no problem at all when the fees are micropayments.

People overestimate "whales". I've known a few people who have lost tens of thousands of dollars trading altcoins.
I distinctely remember a previous Darkcoin "whale" selling 100 btc worth of DRK at .0099 btc....It was bought in one shot and the price jumped to .0245 btc a few days later(Or to clarify, before Bitifinex added DRK to their exchange, but they announced it before)
Some whales are horrendously stupid. So please, don't put them all on some high pedestal.

Another one of my buy orders just triggered. Freaking awesome. I might get another mixer up and running later this week. Someone is dumping and people like me are buying. Can't wait for some news later today.

As a small investor there are only two coins in this Alt world PnD madness that long term really interest me. The pace of development with XC is unrivalled that's what drew me. I think marketing could be brushed up but on the whole i ask myself, what is better than XC

Reading comprehension is fundamental.

Maybe I put it wrongly. People who aren't stuck (In the same way that you are not stuck since you got in early)

Nice! Hey everyone, why not chip in? - the entry needs a lot of filling out, and if I do it I'd have a conflict of interest. You can use XC's press releases. They're all linked in the PDF version of the OP on page 1 of this thread.

Honestly it's nice to see all this guys coins get distributed among many supporters instead of sitting in some dude's wallet waiting to manipulate everyone.

So the thing to do is declare the price irrational - and declare it with your buy orders.
I have to disagree with this comment. We don't know what a rational price for crypto is right now. These aren't cash flow products where we can back into a range for what a rational price should be based on risk free rates, expected risk adjusted returns, earnings projections and over 100 years of historical data. For all we know, the current crypto values could be irrationally too high. Based on how easy it is to clone any of the open source coins, it's possible that the added value that innovative features have on a coin will always gravitate to 0 in the long run.

I think some feel like anonymity has no longer a big upwards potential since there are so many coins offering anonymity or at least claiming it. this perception is fundamentaly wrong imo.
true Anonymity in crypto that really carries on with satoshis vision and doesn't give up core advantages of bitcoin is still in its child shoes and the roi is gigantic if you happen to catch the one bringing it first.
i think XCs ad hoc mesh mixer will be this milestone once its really bulletproof and ready for mass use. this point is just around the corner.
all this chat , storage , backed by ganja type of shit is nice but true privacy in satoshis sense is bigger than all combined. If i was 100% shure of a coin to bring this, and i'm like 99% with xc , i would buy everything up to ten dollars and wouldn't even think one minute about it.
XC is privacy the satoshi way. not a step back.
