There's so much irrelevant, confusing info surrounding all of this. Bottom line it for me: are XC transactions really anonymous or can they be traced? I'm not interested in future promises, I'm asking about right now, this minute.

What's the hurry?

I think you must ask: Is the dev working in the right direction to create a true anon currency?

I really don't know, im not a member of XC community

Monero is the best coin for anonymous transactions currently. It uses ring signatures and has been out for a couple months now. Darksend has also been functioning for months but it is not as sophisticated.

XC at launch had a central mixing node that is basically the same as a coin mixer site except you just connect right to the mixer from your wallet (very unsophisticated, requires trusting the dev). I believe it's currently disabled. That is probably what they were using for yesterday's test release. I think there is some misinformation that it was using "xnodes".

As a commenter said above, it is primarily the fact that loljosh developed the coin which makes me suspect that bold claims of coming up with this new xnode software are lies from atcsecure.

Are DRK really anonymous or not ? I also hold DRK but havent seen a video or someone show that it works... But BIIIG focus on that XC has to work... lol

Can you show that DRK is anonymous ?

Check this.

DarkSend Beta Version 3 is Live!

Last night I figured out how to make DarkSend completely anonymous. What's even better is it's simple and elegant. Before I had said I thought I could get to 95%, I think now with this model I can get to 99%+.

So what's new? Check out the V3 announcement PDF: http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkSendv3.pdf

The wallet release is on track for tonight.

It will be mainnet ready, and have the XNode code in the wallet.  It is fully decentralized.

Just to clarify somethings as well - REV2 will have a solution to the bad actor problem.  Using a dynamic learning trust system, the wallet will choose the trusted nodes over the bad actor nodes.  This also will be tied into the fee system so it will also be incentive based.

I will also be laying out a very high level roadmap of what’s next, what’s coming and long term plans.
As part of this process, I will be putting together a complete business plan, which will be release later this week.

Also if your running an XNODE your 1000 XC's will not stake.  There is a feature in the wallet - reserve balance - which basically prevents those coins from staking.  Xnodes will need to use this feature so that the coins are available for the Xpool.

ATCSECURE

What the meaning of no staking == Xnode use your money to send real payee, after receiving input from user X.
No addreess to time gap. 2 ~ 3 blocks.......

There's so much irrelevant, confusing info surrounding all of this. Bottom line it for me: are XC transactions really anonymous or can they be traced? I'm not interested in future promises, I'm asking about right now, this minute.

What's the hurry?
That is the answer of one who is a scammer or one who has been scammed. The Dev promised it was anon now, if it's not the whole thing is a lie.
I take it that' a no, I feel really sorry for anyone who lost money on this.

As I stated in the beginning, a primary focus will be bringing XC to the retail marketplace and putting XC on the Point of Sale/DEBIT/VISA Network... These features will be added to the wallet, and as part of the Mobile Android wallet as well...  The mobile wallet will also have NFC support for P2P transfers mobile to mobile... all of this will be in the roadmap coming out tonight

Oh with this ??

.. Well he can hire someone to fix ..

People are questioning his promises, the price is tanking, trust is waning, and suddenly instead of in 3 weeks he is already ready with anon xnode implementation? My alarm bells are ringing. This reeks of pump and dump.

I don't think people are dumb enough to fall for this twice, are they? maybe I should buy some quick, ready to shit all over my fellow man. Then, I can feel like such an accomplishment - I just made 50 grand, immediately cash out in fiat and enjoy a week in the Bahamas then back to work, thinking up the next scam.
This scene makes my stomach turn.

Thankfully it looks like whatever support XC has today will be overshadowed by Darkcoin's. Justice will prevail.

Looks like Darkcoin is on Bitfinex orderbook:

Note: I am not a fan of any particular digital currency. I am simply a day trader and opportunist trying to make the most money. I am simply rooting for whichever technology is the best. I currently think that is Monero.

I've bought in and out of the XC market numerous times, it's a nice day trader coin.  Nobody knows if the dev is real, if he's a Nigerian prince, if anon technology will be released, or if dafuq virus will blow up your computer.  All people know is that the price is either going to increase or decrease by a lot, same as every other coin.

I don't think there's much mystery here. Bank was the same scam, just much less sophisticated and thought out. What's that trading at now, 10 sat?

You're right bank was the same scam (if this is a scam). To be fair that can not be conclusively determined at this point, but that's the point of all this.

chaeplin has clearly shown drk and xc are no more anon than any other shtcoin. I find it comical that the only coins that can send transactions anon are the cryptonote coins and their prices are falling. No one really cares about the end result, all they care about is the hype so they can profit FIAT off of others. The only real value anon transactions have is people who want this seeking out these coins for use in real transactions, not this trading bs.
I swear, it's bad enough people lost on XC, but buying/holding drk coins for $10+ ea? that is insanity.

Have you looked at a Darksend transaction? It's way more advanced than XC is (only taking a few clicks to figure out who sent... wtf + the staking is broken). And there is a huge anon improvement coming in Darkcoin RC3 in a few weeks, it was just added to Bitfinex too.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

Yeah, he proved how much more elegant and anonymous Darksend is.
An investigator could figure it out with one more transaction between the same 2 parties. Not only that, he can narrow it down pretty well with the first one.

Imagine this: a REAL developer, you know - a pro not a rip off artist in cahoots with whales and exchanges, comes out with something that the real world finds useful. We all get in early and all get rich off of a REAL investment. No smoke/mirrors, no slaughters. That's the only reason I'm watching the scene, waiting and hoping for a coin that could actually take bitcoin's place. The rest of this is nothing more than amusement that I'm happy to say I'm not profiting from. The fucking vampires will get theirs in the end, kharma is for real.

Traders can just as easily lose money as they can gain it. There is nothing evil about trying to profit from market movements. You can earn peace of mind, I'll earn some money.

I don't have a problem with your typical trader trying to play the market, but if you are in on the scam, pumping it up then dumping at a point pretty much agreed on with cronies, you are scum. Shit. Lower than excriment.
