A community driven and decided massive buy wall would be a nice way to secure the price of HYP if everyone agreed to buy at a certain price (2k for example) we could get several BTC worth on one order creating a nice wall for HYP.

Yeah that would be nice! +1

My balance is not correct on the hyp.cryptocoinexplorer.com as there is a transfer to my wallet that is confirmed in my wallet but not listed.

The address it was sent from shows a balance of 0 on cryptocoinexplorer as it should.

There's no point to increase/decrease price. Stability and volume is much more important, and these two only come with more people that use and trade HYP.

The short answer is yes Cheesy

Noise23 and I are actually working on this problem right now. He has pushed some minor changes to git, but I don't know if they're committed yet. They should help to mitigate the issue.

Wrong. This was a very educational week in the history of High Stake.

HBN and CAP have negligible volume...
And both have high stake rates in the 100-200% range...
But BOTH have maintained PRICE since July, that's 4-5 months (HBN flat, CAP up).

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/pair/hbn/btc/cryptsy/6-months

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/pair/cap/btc/cryptsy/6-months

But HYP has crashed by 50% in 10 days...
So what happened in the last 10 days in the High Stake niche?

BALLS demonstrated what happens to a coin with ZERO "inflation control"...
The coin staked 13%/day, but price would drop 25%/day...
So a coin with ZERO "inflation control" is completely worthless... and will go to zero fast.

Then BALLS hard forked some creative "inflation control" that kicks in within weeks...
And the price doubled... and is holding at higher levels.

But HYP has crashed by 50% in 10 days and is mired at all-time lows. Why?

The High Stake niche is actually quite sophisticated...
It's not a bunch of babies that want free coins... or cool wallets... or special functionality for whales.

The High Stake "enthusiasts" are saying that HYP "inflation control" is inadequate...
The simple Hard Cap could have been designed by a 10 year old...
That "inflation control" MUST be more sophisticated and kick in faster...
And it must be brought in line with HBN/CAP sustainable levels.

Ill be adding some commits to HYP for this as well. I don't see HYP clients connecting to TRK, but apparently some of them are. I have a daemon running with version 1.0 of HYP, w/ 125 connections, none of them TRK. So hard to pin point it exactly, but Noise23 and I are pming some solutions, ideas, and boundaries for each coin to operate in.

Hmmm, I haven't heard much of these complaints myself. And also don't think short run market volatility means much, I am more into long run analysis I suppose.

Did you see that I just sold 1 HYP for 1100 sats, and then bought 1 HYP for 1200 sats.. 9% gain in 30 seconds! The market has spoken and decided HYP is the champion and has the best methods of inflation control!!!!  Tongue

I think Balls is a blip in the curve. It was and is obviously there for shock value, and made a splash. Whether or not this has anything to do with HyperStake, I couldn't say.

I actually think the cap on inflation by block will work out well in the long run. Remember, Zer0Sum, the coins whose stability you note are much older than HyperStake and have had time to find their proper market price. HyperStake will still, to some degree, be affected by trends affecting new coins. HBN and CAP, not as much.

I suspect the price drop has more to do with the beginnings of maturity, as people are probably regularly selling a portion of their stakes now, as they have built a sizeable enough stake to take some profit. This means that there is more supply available at this time, which will have a downward pressure on prices. Of course, it will probably also go in waves, as people realize that the more they have, the more they can stake in a day, and onward. Pretty soon the nominal 750% will drop pretty dramatically as practically every block hits max subsidy. It's not overly simplistic, it's simple elegance.

I don't think so. The most effective things are usually the simplest ones. Let's take NVCS. It isn't a very successful attempt to make a well balanced inflation control, IMHO, and low volumes of NVCS coins are the best proof of it. If we limit an inflation in a progressive manner like in NVCS, we will create a situation where the tragedy of the commons kicks in. The price will stay at a sustainable level or even rise, but the interest will fall. It means that the main incentive to invest and stake will move to the background or even dissolve completely. It can cause dumps and create a necessity in merged mining (Dogecoin merged mining is a good example of the tragedy of the commons).

We are trying to look at coin generation principles from a completely different angle. Inflation isn't bad when it strengthens network security settling coins in miners wallets for staking. And that's why an inflation control shouldn't start right away. By the way, inflation is already almost on its extreme point (around 660K per day ATM) because we probably won't see all 960 blocks per day reaching max subsidy of 1000 HYP.

To summarize, a steady generation of 700K-960K HYP per day will contribute not only to total money supply, but to the difficulty (which comes from the total number of staking stacks and their weights), so the total number of coins in free circulation will be much less than estimated.

This is Monday, this is HyperLoan time

This time, no less than FOUR winners - this is the maximum; there won't be five winners for week five.

(update: Swag should not have been accepted, because he had not been cleared of his scamming accusations - I stand corrected and added, as an exceptional measure, a fifth winner - if Swag does not send the 4K back at the end of the 30 days period, though, he will be added on the wall of shame, which will provide more visibility to his scamming reputation, so he'd better send them back anyway).
Winners are:
+2 wickedsick - pFVxQp6VhMFDgjS9kqtcPG57Qce51uKEpf
+1 denis72 - p8o4HNTBoiimkmnWSh2Cy8g326EtDuXAV1
+1 UroCEO - p65vV1RHVBMVQtAqGFBksrBipGhSuWSEkj (on IRC)
+1 Swag - pMWV9QohbMNV954p72gccGKeAGftgscRHa
+3 awangn6600

Why some +3 or +2 did not win? Because they either did not give me their address or their address was not empty (address with 0.6 or the like are OK, as these is people who thought that adding some HYP from faucet was necessary, whilst it is not).

What you, as a winner (not just a candidate) will have to do:
1. If not already done, create a dedicated address in your wallet and post it on the forum, so that anyone can track the progress. If you don't know how to do so, just ask on the forum Smiley
2 Once you have received the 4K HYP, you will start posting on HyperLoan logs about your feedback. It can be just one posts several posts tracking your increasing understanding of HyperStake, questions... and of course, everyone can post there too.
3. At the end of the 30 days, you will send the principal (4K) back to the originating address pHypLoanFPWT6awN1TYRQ4v3wD3yY1n8KT (courtesy of iDunk).

Happy loaning, happy stacking!

HyperLoan round 5
What is HyperLoan?HyperLoan logs

How to increase your chances:
  • Every week, you get a +1
  • Contributions give you an edge. This is subjective, you could win above a +10 with an excellent contribution
  • Being recognized as active or worthy by the community
  • Dedicated address in the list (not necessary to populate it with faucet): priority
  • Other?

How to decrease your chances:
  • Having less than 100 posts at the time registering will get a -1

Candidates:

(delisted: kliown)

What you, as a winner (not just a candidate) will have to do:

1. Create a dedicated address (if this is not already done) in your wallet and post it on the forum, so that anyone can track the progress. If you don't know how to do so, just ask on the forum Smiley
