My best guess, somewhere between 2K and 3K HYP. Difficulty keeps going up, so anything beyond that will risk hitting the max reward limit. If difficulty starts dropping, you could would also do well with slightly larger blocks (up to ~4K), but it's unlikely that the average daily difficulty will drop.

Yes, difficulty is on its way up right now.

Here is a chart of difficulty since block 100k (smoothened and averaged).  It seems to be much more volatile lately, but on a clear path up in the last week or so.

So far, I am unimpressed by the code (I just finished compiling it on Linux), but I also that with success people with better coding ability can come. So you still have a chance You are helping reducing carbon footprint, which is good (you could have avoided generating extra carbon footprint by just forklaunching Maieuticoin, but well... what is done is done.

No. Because TEK is a hybrid and HYP is a pure POS coin. They don't really directly compare in security. The POW network difficulty... welll, I'll just pull the json.

As you know, I'm heavily into both of these coins, and I'm not going to badmouth either one. Honest comparisons are good, but on this one it's apples and oranges. I think HYP is the best secured and best functioning pure High PoS coin, but it's security is actually several orders of magnitude lower than TEK from a purely technical standpoint. Granted, it's harder to mount a 51% attack on HYP or any PoS coin that it would be on a pure PoW coin. But hybrids are the most secure of all, AND continue to function if something goes wrong with one of the proofs of work.

Both coins have strong merits and some problems. I have a strong position in both, and I consider them both worthy of it.

Not making excuses here, but I would suspect a lot of the comments are reactionary to the blatant attack on HYP and few weeks back (and still in progress). Sadly it seems everyone is jockeying for the top spot in the POS coin world. Hopefully everyone will calm down and worry about their own coin soon enough.

Actually yes we have seen both Thundertoe and Palmdetroit join in on the FUD thread a month or two ago, which to be honest I wasn't all that surprised. Tranz, definitely not, he is way above that. iGotSpots, not sure don't really follow his posts on bitcointalk.

At the end of the day... don't care, get over it. People can and will post what they want. Just another normal day on bitcointalk, one of the most dramatic user bases in existence.

mtwelve, not sure if you figured this out yet, but using the checkwallet and repairwallet buttons in the tools menu will get rid of your orphaned stake.

Yes right now your preference is not stored to the wallet.dat. I will be adding this soon. If you restart your wallet, it will go back to default of 1,000 unless you set it again. I should have this ready for the next wallet version.
