700 dead in self defense against rocket attacks is less sanctionable. Besides the Arab league and other Muslim and 3rd world countries sanction Israel and some European countries dont buy products from Israeli settlements.

israel initiated this latest round of festivities when it re arrested 100s of hamas in the west bank and carried out extrajudicial killings in its search for the murderers of 3 settlers which as it turns out were done by isis and nothing to do with hamas

You mean the US is a republic - and not strictly a democracy ? Its sort of odd this, don't you think, given that the US's foreign policy for the last 50 years has been based (ostensibly at least) on spreading "Freedom and Democracy" throughout the world. And now you are telling me that the US isn't even itself a democracy. You couldn't make this stuff up 

 Well, as fascinating and instructive to the debate in hand as that might be, the point is that whatever you wish to call it, the US is definitely not a country whose Middle Eastern foreign policy is one being dictated by the people of the US.

   You could, I suppose, make a strong arguement that says the geopoloitical positioning of Israel in the Middle East serves US interests - and so the US pro Israeli lobby is merely preaching to the converted.

   But this just kind of takes us around full circle. Who then is answerable for the genocide in Palestine ? Israel, the US Govt., or the US pro Israel lobby ?
