Basically I am glad that it works on a hardware I chose running a software I've written and still everything works OK Smiley

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

My small rig.

5870 on a Gigabyte M68MT-D3p

The cut-off bottles are there as ducting to direct cool air in from the front (1x80mm ingress) and hot air out (120mm). I keep the side panels closed and this ducting reduces the graphics temp by 1 degC. $0 and 20mins of cut and trial and cut.

I was trying to use the PCIE-1x with an extension to plug in another 5870 but I cannot get any response with 'lspci -v' or 'aticonfig --list-adaptors'.
I even did the wire routing as mentioned here:
http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=42
By connecting B17 pin to ground. No luck.

I set this up yesterday. I have 3 Raedon 5850s, but one one is set up so far. I was lucky, got all of the cards for $170 each. The most expensive part was the power supply, at $250. I'm going to set this up so I can control it from my mac, so I won't need the display, keyboard, or mouse. It also has no disk, I'm running it from an 8GB thumb drive. I should get about 1 ghash when it's ready, which is pretty darn good.

Is that Ubuntu with persistence or did you install straight to the thumb drive? I can confirm that once you have tweaked the cards you should get up to and a bit over 1 Ghash/s as well.

Time is money. This means that if you have spare time, you can use it to make money.

Modular, open, and stack-able miner case.

Awesome. I installed Ubuntu straight from the thumb drive. I don't know what Ubuntu with persistence is.

I leave! I will give the BTC
This increase of difficulty on 80 % has made for me unprofitable to continue.
It is ready to give the last 3.85 BTC to the one who will send me 0.1 BTC (I will send on the same address)

You don't look totally trustworthy, this is your first post, and you have bad grammer. Scammers often have bad grammer for some reason.

Tell you what, I am ready to give you 0.1 btc, send me 3.85. 1HX4zSn3yQpVH3v9Sv5TNwMqbfXoBbMuNf

Anyone willing to fall for that probably deserves to fall for that... "I really don't like/want money, so I tell you what. You SEND me money, and I promise I will GIVE you all my money." the logic doesn't even make sense.

Awesome. I installed Ubuntu straight from the thumb drive. I don't know what Ubuntu with persistence is.

Essentially allows changes to persist across reboots on a LiveCD type installation on a thumb drive.

Maxxx, if you need Ubuntu USB with persistence, follow this tutorial

Ah perfect! Straightforward tut. Thanks

Some people will say I spelled the word grammar wrong, but some people will say I was actually referring to Kelsey Grammer. It all depends on interpretation.

I got my first dedicated rig yesterday afternoon. (picture above)

CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.93GHz (second hand)
Memory: 2 GB DDR2 (second hand)
Mainboard: Some cheap second hand board with PCI Express port (I don't know what it is exactly...)
450W second hand power supply
-- Above four: CN¥430 or ~US$66.24
A NEW CPU fan: CN¥30 or ~US$4.62
Storage: Used old micro-SD card read + one NEW 8 GB micro-SD card (CN¥80 or ~US$12.32)
Network: No WiFi adapter onboard, so I am currently making my old AirPort Express work as an WiFi client, connect it to the wired ethernet port.
Video adapter: Sapphare ATI Radeon HD 6870 (with two mini DisplayPorts, two DVIs and one HDMI output): CN¥1580 or ~US$243.47
Display: Apple Cinema Display 27" shared with my MacBook Air
Keyboard and Mouse: n/a
System: Ubuntu 11.04 running on micro-SD card (system boot very slow Sad )

Total cost: CN¥2120 or ~US$326.68
Performance: 247 Mhash/s
