That does not justify it , did you hear me say 'model train people have good hobbies , you don't' ? I believe hobby should be cheap , and if you buy 1-2-5 or whatever less than 500 bucks , thats a hobby , thousands of dollars is not a hobby , if you are selfish enough to spend thousands of dollars for a toy train , you are jerk , spend that for good of people . On the other hand if you spend thousands of dollars with the intention of break even (ROI =/= BREAK EVEN) well kudos try that , otherwise I don't respect your choice of spending that type of money for a hobby.
Seansoutpost have a deal you could feed someone for 1 meal for 1.25 dollars , THOUSANDS mean lets say 2500 and thats what 2000 meal? Oh COME ON , you mean you rather spend 2500 on a toy train than feed people for 2000 meals?
4500 for a metal detector would mean 3600 meals for people , you are a gentleman and a scholar for selecting the right one.

I do not understand this 'hobby' deal , I mean this is a business , this is not a hobby , if you are rich enough to consider this a hobby ,
People spend thousands modifying their cars. Cars which end up worth less than a standard car when they go to sell. People spend thousands buying bicycles to ride along the road, when a £90 Chinese bike would do exactly the same thing. Hobbies are all, without exception, a way of 'wasting' money. Because you go to work to earn money, so you can spend it. That's the point. If you didn't want to spend money, there'd be no point in going to work in the first place.

I'll add my little rig to the list. Nothing wild or crazy, just 36 little BE's. I'll be adding some Red Fury's and a Drillbit Thumb to the mix (hopefully) next month. That Setup sure would look good with some different colours

That Setup sure would look good with some different colours Yea, I'm interested in seeing how well these Bitfury thumbs perform compared to the BE's. My only complaint so far with the BE's is I have one in that rig that puts out an extremely high number of hardware errors compared to the rest. Now, if I get one of those little "bitcoin man" figures with the Fury's I ordered I'll post a pic of him holding one while standing over the little BE's.

Then I got a Nexus 4. It's big, but it's a dream. The keyboard never misses or misplaces a stroke, and I can read everything from a good distance, even with my bad eye (injury a year ago. Left eye is junk). It's really slick, and I can't say anything bad about it. I always thought big phones were for people just following the trend, but they really are nicer and more usable.
You're right, this is OT: just one thing: I have a nexus 4, too and it does have a couple of drawbacks compared to other top-notch phones.

My oily erupters have gone 20 days since their last breath of air. They are still doing well in their new environment, which looks a bit different to the first iteration. https://i.imgur.com/yFitRRr.jpg

Just because YOU believe hobbies should be cheap doesn't mean that the rest of the world does. Keep your beliefs.

What's the tower of heat sinks behind them?
Unrelated old server CPU heatsinks for any electronics / gadget projects that need them. They are really good for cooling high power MOSFETs etc.

Just because YOU believe hobbies should be cheap doesn't mean that the rest of the world does. Keep your beliefs. I'd like to add to your response to Professor (HA!) James, if you don't mind? Just because a person has expensive hobbies doesn't also mean that they don't give to charity too. Face it, some people have money they can frivolously spend. But I bet most of us also give to worthy causes. And why on earth would you visit a forum for BTC (and a thread specifically about people's rigs) just to give them a lecture about wasting money? What did you fucking expect to see here?! Photos of us serving meals in a soup kitchen? Btw, you must be the first 15 year old professor in the world. Congratulations on that great accomplishment! Now leave this thread and never return.
