News: BIP91 seems stable: there's probably only slightly increased risk of confirmations disappearing. You should still prepare for Aug 1.

mini, mini, mini.... rig

One Raspberry Pi +Mojo board.

After 3 shares... (only 2 minutes)

There is an LX9 on it? Does that even have enough programable parts to fit a hashing engine?
Last time i've seen those FPGA's hashing was in development hashing around 5 to 6 Mh/s...?

Finally got my Jalapeno in the mail today. Paid a total of $163 USD on Sep 1 including shipping, no upgrades, running at 5.1 GH/s. Even came with a mug. Seems like a good deal compared to what ASICs are going for today.

The batch 1 Avalon underneath the Jalapeno also turned out to be a really good deal.

Looks lik you got a fair amount of rigs there Wink Block Exploders to the left and BFL FPGAs in the background? What are you hashing at?

I haven't tuned the software on these rigs for minimum overhead and I haven't overclocked the video cards yet either. Currently the farm is running at ~6GH/s or ~500MH/s for each 7970. I built it as fast as I could to get the mining started so they are currently running Ubuntu desktop. Ultimately I plan to create a Gentoo USB install that automatically tunes and mines each rig.

i like how you've stripped away half the cases - did you just drill out the rivets on some cheap/old cases?

That's exactly what I did. I used a dremel and just drilled out the rivets on the sides I wanted to cut away. I had to use some tin snips to cut away some of the bottom of the case as the 3rd video card would have used up a 9th PCIe slot which the cases didn't have. The cases are new and were about $25 each which is probably cheaper than some of the custom case builds I've seen.

So why exactly did you buy cases at all? Waste of money..

some people have said that buying the GPUs and mining with GPUs is a waste of money...

personally i think its a great idea as the case comes prebuilt with the motherboard tray and PSU mounting already done - the rest of the cases is scrap (and can be wieghed in for small change Wink) and at the amount he's hashing at the $75 on cases will be earnt back in 5 days Wink it would have taken minutes to strip the cases down - i wonder how long it takes to build the 'custom' open air rigs that i see on here.

if only i'd had the same idea for my rig Cheesy (i have loads of old cases)

does having the dummy plugs on all the GPUs increase hashrate?

Pretty much what you see in the picture - 102 GH/s all clustered around that A/C. I have another 10 Gh/s of odds and ends (GPUs, USB Erupters) scattered at other locations.

i suspect that there are still people who want to mine BTC with expectation of holding them til the value increases Wink didnt you read the post about each BTC being worth 13k Huh Wink

If you are counting on the exchange rate increase to make your mining profitable (i.e. you will not make the invested BTC back) it's better to just keep or buy the same amount of BTC you would otherwise have invested in mining.

Yes, a Xiling Spartan 6 LX9 inside. I see that btcguard calcutate bad hash rate at beginning..., sorry, now in this pool and in my cliente run at 5.2 Mhash/s aprox.

See my client

Thanks Mojo for this board (link), and inesperated use.
Thanks kramble for a functional port open fpga source mining to this board.

About 5 minutes to attach the 10 standoffs and four posts.  Smiley

what GPU you use with this USB Block Erupters. And where can make order for USB Block Erupters ?

Great ! Thank you a lot!

I'd love to start by buying one, and some time after at least more two, 6, and so on, but I've kept my self away since I've read somewhere there was an minimum amount and since I live in Europe.
Am I mistaken and can I buy at least one or two?
How long would it take to arrive?

Thank you folks.
