Wow 12 ghash with usb's for about 9k$.While I can appreciate the low power cost I think id try to just go with a blade for 6500ish. Nice setup tho.

$9k ?! What is this fiat you speak of ? Have been reinvesting Bitcoins i've mined over the last couple years into upgraded hardware Wink

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XN24GY/ -- Fans used. Not sure these make a significant difference in cooling, but I guess it's better than no airflow at all.

In that case very nicely done!

I'm giddy as a schoolboy. Just got all my USB Block Erupters set up and hashing. Just had to share this here.

Why did you elect to go with 36 USB miners at a cost of over 72 BTC versus just getting a blade that hashes at the same rate for 50 BTC?  Huh

( Had three ports that would not accept any Erupter USB that was plugged into it, but worked fine in any other slot. *shrugs* )

That giant window fan is actually to exhaust my kitchen/whole apartment but it obviously helps suck all that miner heat outside as well!  That's an old iPad 1 on the wall I use for kitchen stuff but it makes a nice VNC terminal...

I'm likely using the same hardware that you have. Can you (or have you in another thread?) let us know what software you are running these with? Are you on a windows machine?

Thanks in advance!

judging by the picture its cgminer 3.1.1 (bitminter) and .bat would indicate windows

Most computer fans blow air in the direction of the back of the motor. The fans in the picture are likely blowing air to the cards.

If you are going to quote pictures remove the IMG tags.

For example:

Turns into:

Everyone can still see that it is there IF they want to click on it they can. Now, they don't have to scroll through a bunch of reposted pictures so you can say, "Oooh, cool."

Received 2x USB Block Erupter sticks from the Europe group buy today...

I decided to test one on my old Asus Eee 700 PC (laptop) which has a 2GB SSD HD - 800 Mhz CPU - 512 MB RAM - running Windows XP.

This is a special laptop - as in 2009 I used this very machine to generate 'a few extra Bitcoins' - Yes really!  Shocked  Cool

With it's 800 Mhz processor this laptop probably generated somewhere around 1000-ish Bitcoin's, which are now in full circulation ofc. It ran 24/7 for several months (2 of these laptops actually on/off), until 100's of new nodes arrived on the Bitcoin network and the difficulty level got to great.

Any prizes for Rig-of-the-Week? Nah - thought not! Grin

I was a very early Bitcoin adopter - I mined and sold over 12,500+ BTC before they reached just a few cents! I bought a slice of a rather famous Pizza!? and donated 500 BTC to the first Bitcoin Faucet. Got a bit lost along the way... logged out 2010... logged back in 2013... I did 'find' around 25 BTC (in old wallets and sites), which is better than none! <> BBR - CBX - CURE - DASHEMCGAP - GRC - LTC - MINT - NMC - NuBits - PPC - SLM - START - XPM - <> This is not investment advice! <>
