We currently have significantly more the security on the network dollar-wise than we have market cap Smiley

This about it, we have 14,000 TB on the network according to: http://burstcoin.eu/charts/estimated-network-size

If every TB = $30, 14,000TB * $30/TB = $420,000

Our market-cap is currently $300,000

Let's see a proof of stake coin do that!

How much BTC do you need on bter do be able to vote? If it's small amounts, it might be worth it to "hire voters" by giving them some BTC...

Hi
Is there another HDD mining coin similar BURST?

Nope, not yet

HDD mining is a business where the first-mover coin has a giant advantage, as plotting is power and time expensive, so for a miner to move to some other coin, it would take a much higher ROI on the other coin than on burst.

So i think developers are having second thoughts launching new HDD mining coins cause they know burst have this very big first mover advantage. Much more profitable just to buy a pile of burst, then spend time improving it.

Or it would allow you to use the same plots...

I buy private Nvidia miners. Send information and/or inquiries to my PM box.

That's an interesting idea...  I think you need to accumulate "BTER points".  You get them via trading, as long as you have more than 1000 BTER points, you can vote 1 every hour.  Which at  5000 BTR per BTC gets expensive.  But if you were to say give someone .01 BTC, they could trade it back and forth between some coin on there and build up to that many BTER points.  If you accumulate more you can get up to 10 votes per hour.

idk.. wouldn't be bad if people in the community started using them for any other coins they trade, accumulating points, then continue to vote on a regular basis.

See, the problem is... Elmit can't fix it. He also seems unlikely to hire anyone to fix it. Basically it seems that he is trying desperately to ignore the problem for long enough and hope that it goes away.

I find it hilarious that he gives me a ton of shit for having a pool back at the beginning that was hosted on a Windows server. Claiming he's a linux man and inferring that he's smarter than me.

Who has a functioning pool, assets that are transparent, and the trust of the community?

Elmit,

Ignoring things doesn't make them go away. If you're hoping that people just take your pool's word for the payments and never check, keep dreaming. See, unlike you... when I kept getting people telling me that the payments were not on the blockchain, I did two things: 1. Offered that I pay said payment to them out of my pocket (Which I have not once seen you do.) and 2. Told them that I would look into it and get the problem resolved. I did both in some cases.

See, the thing is... people respect honesty, and they respect you when you say "yea, I understand that there may be an issue with my payout system, and I apologize for that. I am doing everything that I can to resolve the issue and updates will be posted shortly. If you feel you're owed BURST from missed payouts, let me know what you feel you're owed, and if my calculations are close to yours, I will give you that BURST. I'm sorry you've experienced issues. Have a great day!" They do not, on the other hand, respect dishonest people running a dishonest pool and attempting to ignore problems into submission.

As you can see, the information on the issues with not only the code of the first open sourced uray code, but also in particular YOUR pool, is HERE IN THE OPEN for everyone to see. So eventually every miner on your pool will know that you don't give a shit to fix the VERY IMPORTANT and SERIOUS PAYOUT ISSUES on your pool. After all, who cares about PAYOUTS right? They aren't important.

Get real man, it's already bad enough we have to deal with a scammer like you being part of the BURST community at all, let alone spamming the blockchain with your advertisement messages and now having a pool that gives fake payments. Do yourself a favor and back out of any position of "power" now, before you end up with issues that are WAY too big for you. If those issues aren't already accumulating.

People in the crypto community are VERY TIRED OF SCAMMERS, and most certainly will not deal with scammer style behavior from an already known scammer.

My advice is shut all of your pools and assets down until you fix this, and or do the responsible thing and pay your people out of your own pocket. Have a great day.

It is possible to understand what devs are working on???
last release was on 06 February 2015...

many thanks

I understand that you refer to technological work that is being done. I'll will describe a little of what I know, but also point to that development is being done within the two other areas: PR and software

Focusing on the technical side, I'd say it quite obvious that, at least, vbcs spend a lot of time implementing ATs in qora. Read Qora's thread and press releases; we also retweet some of their Twitter activity to show what is going on. The goal is, of course, to do the worlds first ACCT - between qora and BURST. Technically, BURST is ready for ACCTs as I understand it, but no other coin so far is. When AT is implemented in qora history will be made when an ACCT is done between the two blockchains. Where the researchers are in the process, I francly don't know (and if I knew, I probably wouldn't understand it well enough to explain it).

In between PR efforts and pure technological research, we have been put extensive work into writing a proper white-paper for BURST. In my opinion, it has been real bad that we haven't been able to point to a white-paper as other coin's do which present innovation way less than those BURST have. The paper is lengthy and will show the uniqueness and potential with BURST. It is due for release within two weeks (see mczarnek's posts).

On the software side major work is also being pursued to make adoption, plotting and mining of BURST much easier than it ever been before. This is of course a considerable task to complete, but it does move forward.

Besides the technological and software development, we continue our work on translating sites and thinking of ways of promoting BURST in, say, China or Russia. Translations will be presented as the translations are completed and we also are able to do some promotional work within that language area (see my sig).

The PR team will of course present the results of research as they become available. However, here we also have the funding problem described in my sig: To really do a good job with PR, we are in need of money so please donation your change to the improvement. Donation to the technological and software teams are of course also highly welcomed.

I'm sure I've missed some stuff, but that is the major things on what is going on behind the scene atm. Smiley

Holy cow, BURST was voted second in this competition, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1000833.0 voted ahead of really big coins like ripple. Burst is poular and has widespread acceptance, we'll mob the floor with most other much higher marketcap altcoins.

With this kind of end user support, burst marketing department might consider doing a campaign for voting burst into some more exchanges - that might allow more traders to be able to trade burst.

We could, and would gladly do that (as when we get the Chinese site, we'd need an Asian exchange), but atm we have zero money for PR. We have the BTC collected for the next press release secured, but those will be used for that. Since we mostly need BTC, setting up a CF isn't going to solve it.

We did get a generous donation from a Russian guy, but those BTC are invested and will soon bear fruit. As of now, we are paying all expenses by ourself, and that is far for ideal... I'd estimate I donated a more than million BURST by now, and that just me of the crew members.

I'll put a BTC address for your change BTC in my sig together with a BURST address, and hope that more community members and crew will do the same. I can promise you total transparency of who donates and what the money is spent on, reported in a thread at BurstForum.

On the .info-website, we are also planning for a "Hall of Fame"-wall for donors as their generosity is very important for the growth of BURST, not least internationally. So if you donate some sats, please PM me or email your nick, tx and sum so we can give you proper credit in the future.

Regards

EDIT: Put up temporary Hall of Fame at http://burstcoin.info/about/ and a spending thread on https://burstforum.com/index.php?threads/donate-to-the-pr-team.783/

Just made a 250,000 BURST donation as well as a 2500 transaction fee (for the miners.) BURST is amazing. Let us continue to make it moreso! Thanks!

edit : btw, the link to byte.enterprises doesn't work from the about page, and there is no link to burst.ninja. Can we add both of those things? Also, I have a few grammatical corrections that I will send your way. Smiley Overall it is great!

Thanks for your continues support! Updated Hall of Fame and links Smiley Se my sig.

However, I'd be great to see some other names but the usual suspects when it comes to donation. If BURST should reach it's full potential wide-spread support is needed.

And you do not have to do as crowe and send a massive quarter of a mill: Many donations of 1K BURST and 0,02BTC will together give us strength (and your name on the Hall of Fame as a token that you financially supports BURST).

EDIT:

0,799BTC on 17SrpSXT6Zv1DvtyoSaSM1mzGhCMX7szRg [note: I put unconfirmed on this one; I only donated half of that sum and have no idea why it shows the double)
275,000 BURST on BURST-NUKZ-MDJR-G7VD-BQ5A6

As this is so important for how we are able to present the innovation our researchers and crew do, I pump this again. We have a lot more than 15,000 BURST wallets out there, but so far only two members have donated...

I'll put this as clearly as possible: Without economic help from the community, BURST will not reach it's full potential. Donating is an investment in the coin's future value. For how to donate, see me sig.

Blago,
when your miner encounters this condition: "Unexpected end of file xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_100000000_xxxxxxxx_xxxxxx" i don't think the memory is released/cleared the same way as if a thread finishes normally.  Does this make sense or am I imagining this? thanks!

I'm going to throw another option out there for another coin that is implementing ATs. Horizon.

This coin is doing great lately as well, with over 40BTC volume on polo right now and price going up 15% or more the last few days.

I am also friends with someone in the same position I am in BURST, in Horizon, HZ. So he can help us to do an ACCT with that coin as well, and they are supposedly gettinc close to AT release as well. Very exciting stuff going on, for sure!

Also, just because burstdev hasn't posted an update in a few minutes, doesn't mean he's not doing anything. He is online daily and working every day! This coin is going to be the future of crypto, it's a difficult job! But we have a very capable team.

Smiley

Interesting and great news Cheesy It's obvious that I been away a bit to much lately to stay updated.

I did also forgot stuff....

A very nice task being completed is crazyearner's amazing guide to BURST plotting and mining. Atm it is undergoing review by the team, but I pretty sure if someone reads that guide and follows it carefully will not have any problem with BURST. Hopefully this can bring new users to the community until the new softwares are available. Smiley

Another software development in focus, but I forgot, is an Android wallet!

There are literately so much in the pipeline of BURST that it is hard recall them all. If you think you can contribute to PR, software or core developing, drop us an email; otherwise you can always help us be donating Wink

Just sent a donation your way.

H.

Don't hold me to two weeks.. And it's mostly a comparison of POC vs POS and POW.  It's got some whitepaper elements to it though and covers how Burst does things and issues with algo as well as how we make them non-issues.
