Mine at Jonny's Pool

Has anyone hit renting with nice or west hash?  I have spent quit a bit of coin attempting it.  not 40 or 50 maybe 10 btc

Curious to know how many of the  41 blocks have been hit by nice-west hash rentals.

For instance  727miner used MRR

I threw 3 BTC over the past 2 weeks on and off from westhash about 0.0097avg, no wins.

Does anyone have a calculation how many TH should one rent for a day to have an equal chance (50%/50%) hitting or not hitting a block?
Easy... To have a 50% chance of hitting a block in a day means you would want enough hash to expect to find a block in 2 days...
Code:
47610564513 * 2^32 / 172800 = hash rate = 1.1833669995801 PH/s
So you'd need to rent just about 1.2PH to have a 50% expected chance of hitting a block in a day.

I was wondering if anyone would do a group hash rental on westhash. Divided we have a lesser chance, but together there is a greater chance.

Question.  I know on the P2P forms they recommend that we set the cgminer options to = queue= 0 or 1 what or recommended for the solo pool for best performance.

Thanks

CK, is your server's datacenter having issues tonight? I've had alot of my rentals failover to their backup pool (kano's) several times over the last couple of hours. Just curious if you saw anything or not?

Seems ok but I'll give the pool a kick in the arse to bring it in line with current code just in case.

Thanks, they're all back and happy now. I think MRR temporarily blocks a pool for 10 minutes if it can't connect to it (not sure what their threshold is) so it could be on their end, I just noticed it happened a few times tonight.

With all the recent bug tracking I was doing on Kano's pool and finally sorted the problems, this pool had ended up in an intermediate code point between the old and new when I last restarted it so it probably wasn't running ideal.

so the million dollar question is - If I mine with 1 Ph for 24 hours, does it have the same odds as 2 Ph for 12 hours for finding a block?  I know it appears to be the same but I would suspect that there is actually a difference - but I am not a statistics guy Smiley

Ck we need your help to learn the secret of solo mining .

the Role to find a block is

Power or luck

If we choose power so we have to rent about 1p a day .
If we choose Luck so we can link our miners and rentals to 10 pools.

If I Rent a V P S   server for 1 month with full performance and create 10 solo pool then Link my 10 miners divided to them 1 miner run in 1 pool
(OR RENT 100 T a day and divided 10 T for 1 Pool )  dose I will have great chance to got at least 1 lucky block ?

Thanks very much

the secret is renting hash from a good source at cheap prices.  If you can rent a 100 th at about 0.0101 the math is in your favor.  If you pay 0.0105 or more the math is against you. It is not very complicated.

Im Talking about other side  THE LUCK

Many here loosing too much money like me in renting hash and due to some users have many btc to spent so the winner is the power

so all other power gone ( wasted ) . Its too bad to know that about 10 btc spent daily in solo pool as a wasted power .

I want you all imagine that 400 miners worked in this environment and only one will win and 399 miners worked many days and generated a wasted power.

My point is

1st miner will solve the block in 2 days
2nd miner will solve the block in 5 days if the 1st didn't .
3rd miner will solve the block in 10 days if the 1 or 2nd didn't.
...etc

If each miners run separately in own pool sure it will solve the block , and we will save the power .

10 solo pools is lucky than only one . many miners will wins

And 10 solo pools fees (server fee ) not cost more than 200$ / month.

Well consider this, if you rent 100Th for 6 hours or 200Th for 3 hours ypu still have the same chance overall. It is mote about how much you put in. If you put in 12.5BTC you have in theory a 50% chance of finding a block. Only if the hash cost is .0101 per TH

There is no secret to luck. You are gambling and there is no way to make luck. You are only lucky or unlucky after the fact.

a question..
I have 20 rigs on mining rig rentals as cafeg..

I've just sent 4 of the s3's over to ck's solo pool hopefully to get lucky Smiley

Is it better to send the rigs direct to ck's pool instead of going through mining rigs proxy ?

MRR's overhead is quite small but unless you really need MRR between you and the pool for some other feature then I would always recommend the most direct connection regardless of where you mine as every tiny bit of latency matters in the event of finding a block to avoid losing a potential orphan race.

Ck I am not sure if PrivacyBTC understands the concepts of solo mining.

If you spend 12.5btc renting 1ph at .0101

you could win  over  150 blocks with spectacular good luck.

You could win 0 blocks with  average luck.

Assuming the software and the pools along with all the gear working correctly .   the 12.5 btc above should have a 50% or 52 % chance hitting your pool 1 time in 29 hours that you would get for that rental.

And it has an unreal tiny chance of hitting 150 blocks in that time. super luck close to impossible .

I think he does not understand game theory math behind the odds. (assuming all conditions are correct)
