Best share I have gotten since the last block is 11093834673.459869. I am gonna go do my lucky block dance out in the warehouse where no one will judge me.
LOL... my best share since the restart of my rPi back in December with the 5 U2s attached to it running cgminer is 9.1M.  Pretty sure no amount of lucky block dancing is gonna help me out there Tongue... gonna have to figure out what to sacrifice next to the block gods... apparently they're not too happy with the goats so far.

My neighbor's annoying tiny dog (always goes nuts when I go by) is still a virgin.  It's giving me ideas right now.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Raining cats & dogs my Doberman was really annoyed, he doesn't like rain. So when we arrived at the park, he jumps out of the car, grabs the first tiny dog in sight, throws it in a mud pool, and runs off.. Ever saw a Doberman with an evil smile? I did.. Cheesy

Next block is mine.. Hehe..

New Bitcoin user here, just getting into the solo mining lottery with ~240GH coming online soon.  Can't win if you don't play.  I've read through this entire thread, but sure I'll have questions when my gear arrives.

Prior to the arrival of my ASIC mining gear I wanted to try to connect to the pool as a test, just to see if I could do it.  All I have available to use as a miner is the gpu on my graphics card.  I don't expect to accomplish anything with just a single gpu obviously, I only wanted to see if I could connect to the pool.  I tried using GUIMiner to connect, but am not having any luck.  This is what I'm seeing:

2015-02-18 23:10:52: Running command: poclbm.exe MY_ADDRESS_HERE:1x3@solo.ckpool.org:3333 --device=0 --platform=0 --verbose -r1

Yes, everything. poclbm is totally unmaintained and almost certainly does not even have a compliant stratum implementation, and setting up and getting GPU mining working has absolutely nothing in common with ASIC mining so it's a useless learning experience. If you want to see if you can connect, just grab the latest cgminer and connect to the pool without any hardare at all. Anyway your username should just be a btc address with or without a worker extension (not sure what the ":1x3" is you put there).

 Huh Huh Huh Huh
Pool url user and pass are unknown for cgminer Wink
Having usb devs connected does not have anything in common for testing pool connection
Mikestang,  read cgminer README first
And add pool

Perfect, thank you.  Cheesy

Old user here, different user names to protect my privacy.
I am going to pull my rig. Moving tomorrow, and I'm probably not going to be back up again.

So.. Con, thanks for your great work, and your solo mining initiative. Kudos.
It has been fun. No blocks to the rescue though Smiley

I did read the README, I have added a pool and my username at the command line, it appears that I successfully connected to the pool, just without any mining devices, which is what I was hoping to accomplish (command line noob). I'm not sure I understand your comment.
