Just saw the notes on psu's...I've been using units I get from Centrix/Kickasspower that are 1KW HP server bricks, using blade connector adapters. One powers two S3s, or two of them power an S7 (one supplying two boards w/6 PCI's, the other supplying the third board and the controller w/4). I would suspect it would handle an S9 just fine as well (as each brick is only having to put out less than 80%), but won't know until I can try it. They're cost effective. Now that I'm shipping units off, however, that's a moot question. I'm letting Cryptoboreas use their units.
Also glad to hear that board issue got tweaked.

Your English is better than that of the majority of graduate psych students I taught...for whom it was supposed to be their first language. Congrats to you. I've been at this for a while with 9 machines and still have to hit a block. Welcome to ckpool/kano.is.

my batch 2 s-9's are shipped. so the solar array will go from 25th to 50 th . I am hoping the new fans ordered will help to keep the gear a bit cooler.
Mine too Can't wait to plug them to kano.is My S9 Batch 3 is up and running on kano.is...the speed and HW errors of each board were looking good and holding right at 12.87 THs (13THs on the pool) for about 45 minutes. The temps on each board were about 57, 87 and there were only about 3 errors on each board. Then the 3rd board dropped to zero and eventually dropped out of the picture. Now I have about 8.3THs total running with the first 2 boards. Soft reboots have not revived that dead board yet. I may have one of those with a faulty board and I have Toomim looking into it for me... that sucks. as always try a lower freq. Thanks Phil, I lowered the frequency to 550 and that board came back to life...whew! It doesn't seem to like running at 600. I'm going to let it stabilize overnight before I do anything else to it. In the morning I'll try different frequencies to see how close I can get back to 600. It's holding right at 12.66THs on the Kano pool at the moment but it's only been running about 30 minutes so far. EDIT: It is now up to 12.97THs on the Kano pool...if it stays like that overnight then maybe a frequency of 550 will be alright! The specs for an S9 Batch 3 is 12.93TH/s ±5% That ±5% hashing range is 12.18THs and 13.58THs so even at a lower frequency it's right in the mix there. The HW error rate is 0.0008% so that is looking great! I'm glad to see that we got that long block out of the way... Well, it's been 24 hours with my S9 and the third blade simply will not work. We first dropped the frequency to 550 to get it back online but it eventually dropped out again. Then we dropped to 500 to get it going again and it eventually dropped out again. Now we can't get that board to hash at all and I will have to start trying to figure out how to get this thing replaced...bummer! We disconnected the power from the bad blade and now it's just hashing on the 2 good blades...

Drumsticks received, block replied ... and almost 4% txn fess on that one! First block for Dashun99 She was about half hour late.... so I have given her a slap on the wrist for being late... LOL She said she will do better today and give us more green blocks! WOW... look at that TX fees! BTW, a bit off topic, anyone can recommend a good remote power "off/on" control adapter? I found this... but there must be a better solution out there... https://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-Controls-Electronics-Anywhere-HS100/dp/B0178IC734

I think they are cheaper, and they don't require you to wear the mark of the beast have a smartphone. The range of the remote might be an issue, though.

I used my ipad to control it. it is okay but how much power will you run on it? hint it will get too hot running an s-7 as i did that over night. I would not run over 1000 watts in it. If I could find it I would mail it to you as you don't need a smart phone to run it. A wifi based ipad will run it while you are in your home on your home network.

Let me know if anyone finds some of these for 220VAC and the appropriate wattage for S7/S9 and I will buy 50 of them. Are there any other methods other than smart PDUs that can be used to remotely restart a miner?

Block by josephtran2, his 6th Kano Block! EDIT: Phil, the PSUs used by the Toomim Brothers Data Center (and on my S9) is an HP DPS1200FB... well that is rated 1200 watts so it really is not good enough try a down clock to 475 frankly I would tell Toomim to pay for repair as he should know better then to use a 1200 watt psu to run a 1350 watt piece of machinery S9 Specifications: 1. Hash Rate: 12.93TH/s ±5% 2. Power Consumption: 1275W + 7% (at the wall, with APW3 ,93% efficiency, 25C ambient temp) 3. Power Efficiency: 0.098 J/GH + 7%(at the wall, with APW3 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp) the batch 3 needs a 1600 watt not a 1200 watt the batch 2 needs a 1600 watt not a 1200 watt the batch 1 needs more power then 2 or 3. about 1343 iirc I am using the dps2000bb and am going to test the dos1800bb along with the dps2500 the three above 2500 = 2320 watts------waiting to test 2000 - 1975 watts------ works with zero issues 1800 = 1680- watts------ waiting to test.

Hello,
Technically, if the S9 really use 1275W At the wall, it's use 1275 x 0.93 = 1185W on 12V. So a good quality 1200W PSU is enough but be the smallest unit you can use.
But usually, best efficiency is obtain at the half of power. At full power, you usually loose between 1 and 2% efficiency.
So a gold PSU used at 50% is very near a platinum PSU used at 100% (and will probably be more reliable)
