Very nice. Unfortunately I can't make any structural modifications to the room as I don't own the property. I did have an electrician friend run two 240 outlets and another 20 amp dual 110 to the room. But I'm not telling anyone. Shhhh. I agree...nice. I can't do anything here, either, so everything is portable. I have to administer FCC license exams tomorrow afternoon; I'll do the video thing on Sat morn (UTC-10). I need to man up and study for my Extra class thats if it still exist

I can send you the new Extra Class FCC question pool (public domain) if you PM me. If you're over so many years after expiration, however, you have to start over with Tech. 73s.

Impressive, Phil. I'm surprised you can keep them cool on the upper level of that building bc heat rises, but I guess all that airflow doesn't give heat a chance to collect. I notice the EVGA 1600 Platinum psu - that is an awesome product - ran my s7 with that - very stable & low hw errors. Back to business...6 blocks today! Not bad. Not bad at all

Hello,
Technically, if the S9 really use 1275W At the wall, it's use 1275 x 0.93 = 1185W on 12V. So a good quality 1200W PSU is enough but be the smallest unit you can use.
But usually, best efficiency is obtain at the half of power. At full power, you usually loose between 1 and 2% efficiency.
So a gold PSU used at 50% is very near a platinum PSU used at 100% (and will probably be more reliable)
it says 1275 dc + 7% at wall based on a plat psu. that 1200 watt can do 1320 watts at the wall as I think it is a gold not a plat. a 1275 dc x 1.1 = 1402 at the wall. so you need a better psu then those 1200 watt hp dps 1200 and remember the spec up are for the batch 2 and batch 3 s-9's the s-9 batch 1 was specced to run at freq 650 and use 1390 watts dc +7% if a plat psu. there is no way the hp dps1200 should be used on an s-9 unless you really clock low like 450 to 500 or so. Usually, good quality PSU given to 1200W means it is output power. Ok for the +7%, you have right but good PSU have safety margin, it will not shut down at Full power +1%. That can work. I have already use a HP1200W to power Garden miner who uses 1200W on 12V, ~1400W at the wall whiwout any problem. But using a PSU @100% of it's power specification is not very good, because will be more sensitive to voltage drop or local temperature, reduce lifetime and efficiency drop. Centrix as a 94% efficiency kit for the S9 with an HP Platinum 1500watts at $119 including Breakout board and cables http://www.centrix-intl.com/details.asp?Parent2ID=1&productid=13323

That's a very nice psu at a great price, but if you don't have 208/240v then you have to go with something like the EVGA 1600P, which runs very well at 110/120v on a 20amp circuit. Where is our block? 15+ hours and counting.....

Wow...it's been 59 minutes since the LukeReeves block with no other blocks by anyone yet. EDIT: That was pretty cool that LukeReeves hit that block with only 8.75THs...and he gets on the Acclaim Board with his 1st Kano Block!

It still averages out to 10 minutes per block...not unusual EDIT: Come on Block Friday! I had some chicken wings with my breakfast!
