<snip>... All pools I know of have lost BTC in large amounts at certain times. I aim to preclude the possibility of that here, if possible.
That right there crystallizes so eloquently why we, the kano ckpool faithful, mine here and would never think to mine anywhere else. And speaking of mining, time to crack some damn blocks already!

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc These aren't the Droids you're looking for: S5 & S7 (Sold), R4B2, R4B4 (RIP), 2x S9 obsolete, 2xS15-28, S17-56, S17-70 Pushing a whopping 1/5 PH! Oh The SPEED!!!

Anyone notice that the bad luck streaks across the net has started since the S9's started arriving?
Fortunately I can now see that number for any S9 mining directly to the pool Here's only the last 2 weeks: a | bmminer/1.0.0 | 1,011.78G | 96,610,507.00 | 4.73978702 BDR | 1011 | 1.00G | 1,537.27G | 8.01G | 3 B
What that shows is that for a BDR of 4.74 (meaning expected number of blocks), so far the direct S9 miners have found 3 blocks. So that's all statistically OK so far. e.g. that BDR/Block ratio for the last 2 weeks for certain miners is: 1.57992900 | a | bmminer/1.0.0 | 4.73978702 BDR | 3 B 1.52032672 | a | cgminer/4.7.0 | 1.52032672 BDR | 1 B 1.42273633 | a | NiceHash/1.0.0 | 8.53641799 BDR | 6 B 1.20826987 | a | cgminer/4.8.0 | 22.95712756 BDR | 19 B 0.78980554 | a | cgminer/4.9.0 | 11.05727767 BDR | 14 B 0.68304492 | a | cgminer/4.9.2 | 2.73217969 BDR | 4 B
The lower the first number, the better the luck. 1.0 = expected luck. But those stats are too small to decide anything from them, of course, and show nothing wrong since they are so small. Just posted them for curiosity Still working on getting longer term stats. Kano, this is very interesting. Do you mind posting this info every now and then? I had no idea S9s had such a small impact, it is interesting to see NH is about 20% of the hash rate, etc. You have access to some cool stats

Guys, come on. Some times we strike luck and some times we do not. I think its too early to say if the bmminer has anything to do with the luck, but damn clever of Bitmain if the only way to find blocks with an S9 should be by running at crap Antpool....but also very dangerous of them (51% attack). I think the BMminer is developed for them to get statistics send to them and get knowledge to optimize their own pool, unfortunately i'm not skilled enough to find out if my S9´s are sending data to Bitmain. Either way, if this is the case that BMminer is only able to find blocks at Antpool, sorry guys, then we either have to find the solution or I will be forced to point my S9 farm to Antpool, I will not be behind in the game and lose out on the most efficient miner to date because it cant find blocks at Kano..... Still, I do not think that's the case and the S9 will find just as many blocks as all the other miners at KANO.
Im willing for KANO to get acces to 1 of my S9`s if that's needed to figure out what the hell this BMminer is doing.

I had no idea S9s had such a small impact, it is interesting to see NH is about 20% of the hash rate, etc. You have access to some cool stats I run these reports on everyone and everything, at least every time I do a payout ... The recent change is that I've added being able to group them under names like above and also IP addresses It's all in the public git except the summarisation I use that shows the many different things I'm actually looking for in the data. Yes *Hash rentals are about 20% of the pool. If stats do ever show a problem with them, yep the pool will drop 20% in a heartbeat. (and I still don't have much history of the recent change yet) However, that S9 (bmminer/1.0.0) number, as I said, is only for people mining directly to the pool with an S9. If you use, appropriately, a proxy for lots of miners, then it wont show as "bmminer/1.0.0" (also of course the rental proxies don't show what hardware they are)

No I don't suspect there's anything in the S9, even though, as usual, Bitmain has again broken the cgminer license terms. A Bitmain person asked me the other day if I wanted an S9. One word immediate reply "no" ... then a comment about waiting for the next avalon

Kano- keep me updated with the Avalon ones. Still need to do some buying in and it could as well be Avalon if they perform equal or better than the S9. Still my offer is still open if you want to spy around in a S9..
