Kano, I still can't put into PG words what I think of you personally, but you run a good pool. Cheers!

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Well it is actually just that run of 19 blocks + 1 orphan that killed the stats.
(and the fact that the orphan was so out of the pools control it was ridiculous - caused by 3 separate external events at the same time)

The 20 starting from last block in November 630.819% and finishing with an orphan + 178.228%, and finally that worst record 744.977%

If we just pretend those 20 blocks never happened it all looks great Cheesy

Those 20 are now just outside the last 50 blocks, so all the stats for 50 blocks or less look ok again and the very long term stats are good enough to cover that run of bad luck.

I just thought I'd also pop in and say 'Hi' as I've just pointed some miners towards the pool.

I'll be progressively adding additional hash over the coming week.

I am curios to learn whether the following had any relation to late November-December bad luck?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=766190.msg16605935#msg16605935
and the discussion between Matt and kano that follows

this change seems to correlate precisely in time with pool's performance in that period.
is this just a coincidence?
I am cool with current performance, but would you care to comment, please?

No, it got no relationship.
The relaynetwork (that is still active) tells a Pool that a new block was mined and transfer
it to the pools bitcoind for quicker block propagation.
The new fibre network does the same, just even more quicker.
Kano and con uses their own code, so it is even more quicker...

Pool luck is pool luck, and that is all.

Block finding is unaffected by anything but withholding.

If there are problems, they will show up as blocks failing to get into the bitcoin block chain.
Even if a miner finds a block late, I still show it on the web page.

Relay and bitcoind problems show up as orphans, stales and rejected blocks, but the blocks themselves will not 'disappear', they will still be there (crossed out) on the web site, but with a related description saying why it's not rewarded, if it didn't get into the bitcoin block chain.

There will be a CKDB restart in about ~30 minutes at approx 23:25 UTC (after the winry shift gets processed)
No miners will be affected.
Web/API page will have lotsa ? for about 10 minutes.
Updates in the user management/user db table, so no one will notice any changes.
CKDB restart completed all ok - no miners were affected.
23:27:55.069+00 to 23:32:50.362+00 - so just under 5 minutes.

Did Trump sign an executed order to take down Kano??  JK, Today was the greatest in America. He truly doesn't care about the establishment and is going to undo everything he possibly can that Obama did the past 8 years in his first 100 Days via executive order, not that he needs to now that we control all branches of the Government.  God this is going to be a great four years.  So long Obama crap(care), you worthless piece of shit.  HAHAHAHA.  It is going to be glorious to watch.  Yes, yes I know this is way way way off thread, that is why I put the first Sentence in to kinda qualify it.  Please give me a little wiggle room on one.  It is a special occasion.  Grin
