This has happened many many times in crypto , when black coin was the first to do the idea of a multipool and before blackcoin got it up and running , mintcoin came steaming in with their own multipool .
This is the world of open source , people fighting to develop ideas to drive and power the use of their own coin, people reading technical works and being inspired to create their own idea, sometimes loosely based on the idea they have just seen, sometimes almost identical with a few minor changes.
If he wishes to keep his ideas and developments quiet and on the down low to begin with, to prevent anyone copying his ideas before they get off the ground and stealing his first mover advantage then so be it.
