In all fairness, time will tell what Mh/s per watt will be on the different ASIC devices.

In all fairness, time will tell what Mh/s per watt will be on the different ASIC devices. Where did fairness ever come into the equation? The BFL people themselves i.e. BFL, not the paid fanboys, keep saying theirs is the fastest yet they don't have any numbers to make that statement ... Technically, bASIC IS the fastest and cheapest - since bASIC's is the only one so far anyone has actually run and tried to make it clear that they have run and tested an actual working device that can give them a reasonable estimate of the final device (with details of their process up to that point)

Well true at this time based purely on claims that I have no doubt are true. The bASIC offering is leading Mh/s per $. Edit: 19 of these devices at 1069.99 every 54Gh/s = 1026Gh/s for only $20,329.81

bASIC Announcements
I will try to include as much information as possible here because I know after this post - I will get a lot of emails, however as soon as I finish this post I am jumping on a plane and will be gone all weekend on business. Communication will be limited however I will try and respond to requests as often as possible. I will return on Sunday night.
I had conference calls with the both the board designer and ASIC fabricator today. After doing some thinking I have decided to go with both a molex and DC barrel jack connector this will allow for a lot of different kinds of setups without using adapters - you can simply just choose one or the other. At this point the change was inconsequential and only added a few cents added cost per board, which would be cheaper and simpler than getting adapters.
Also I have some other really great news.
We originally commissioned to have two nearly identical boards designed, one with enough ASIC chips to equal 27Gh/s and another board with the same setup except to accommodate twice that number of ASIC chips or 54Gh/s
After going over the financials today I think it makes sense to change the 1069.99 unit to the 54Gh/s model and sell the design originally intended for 27Gh/s at 599.99
Which means if you currently have purchased a 27Gh/s model it is now a unit capable of a minimum of 54Gh/s
Other Updates / Time Frames
Inside of two weeks we will have the full schematics of the production boards completed and I will release graphic renders so you can see what they look like. (spoiler) They will be silk screened black this time with red lettering which will read "bASIC SHA256 Bitcoin Mining Device - BitcoinASIC.com"
And 2-3 weeks after the deisgn is completed I will have a handful of production boards made (this takes about 5 days) - with pictures on the web site and these boards will be sent to the developers I mentioned before
Luke-JR TheSeven ckvolias Kano
With a little luck this will all happen within the month of October.
We are still on time for shipment in November/December - all current orders and those who get in - in the near future will receive shipments by years end at the latest. I have taken steps to expedite the process (lessons learned from the ModMiner quad) which will greatly improve the time from the board assembly house - to me - and our the door to you.
Have a great weekend and thank you for your support.
Is there a link to a site with these updates/info ?? Awesomeness,BFL has competition now!!!!!!!!!!!!! So,I'm assuming CGminer will have support for your ASICS upon release,Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!

In all fairness, time will tell what Mh/s per watt will be on the different ASIC devices. True. Assuming the cost of hardware per hash rate will vary by a factor of 2 across the various competition, the power per hash still seems like it will be the arguably as important (if not more). I really woud like to see the specs for this hardware. ||bit

Just had to correct it for you This is how to engage the community with good will, and since good hardware deserves and is dependant on good software, appreciating the value the free software developers provide is critical. Well done.

bASIC units will be assembled at the same plant that the ModMiner Quad's are, they will be produced in batches of 30-50 every 5-10 days and shipped out on first come first served basis
Hi Tom, if I were to place a bASIC order now, do you think it will still be shipped with the first batch? Thanks.
yes. I take it sales wern't exactly what you were hoping for? This new development def changes things! Expect a couple of sales from me in the near future.
