WOW B1 is sold out.  I'm surprised people are actually paying that much for 2Th.  Oh wait... no I'm not.  Plenty of retarded people out there in crypto land.

Seeing as people paid 1.36 btc @ $600 btc price for 2 antminer s3's......

Why would they not pay less for more hashrate and lower power requirement?

Hasn't Bitmaintech already made loads of money? Maybe they should subsidize the S4 to support the network and its decentralization!  Cool

They are doing a business of a very risky hardware manufacturing.
Their aim is to run the business for profit because the primary target of all business firms is profit even if none agrees.
Supporting Network and Helping Miners have very low or no priority depending on the director.
Home Miners have no level playing field now, these companies should create it.
There all manufacturers are failing, BitMainTech Miners gave it till S3 now they are also out.
Now the Home or small scale miners should wait till their level playing field expand again.

It gets trickier now because power costs and mining efficiency are becoming equally important factors to consider.

It seems like you don't understand the reason he/she's doing it... It's not for money... It's to support the Bitcoin network

Does it need supporting at individual miners' expense?  What proportion of the network hashrate do individual miners contribute?  All I can see is the network hashrate going up and up - and the difficulty with it - mainly due to the actions of the industrial mining companies.  Are they supporting the Bitcoin network or are they simply exploiting it?  Will these companies still be there hashing away when all the bitcoins have gone?  I don't think so...

With the total hashrate at over 200 Pentahash, I doubt he/she's actually supporting the Bitcoin network.

Want to really support the Bitcoin network?  Spread the word of Bitcoin to friends and family, and support local Bitcoin businesses.

Stop donating to these ASIC manufacturers to get minimal BTCs in return.

Been holding off on batch 10 for ages though havent they? maybe since they are selling them through hashnest instead at 0.60BTC to have one on hashnest, why sell them when they got people renting them for the same price they were selling them for, when they still own it at the end and can do as cointerra, mine with it then flog them out of the DC at a later date.

First, thanks to Bitmain for still making and selling Miners for us small-time home-miners. The S4 looks great and I would love to get one in my hands.

Sadly power costs and taxes are too high in my country (Germany), so I cannot afford it.

So, due to this fact, I still have one S4 coupon, worth $200 price reduction, for sale for 0.2 BTC. Please PM.

Whats so great with S4?, can you put some words on that part which we couldn't yet find? Wink
As per my and most of the members analysis S4 will never ROI even if electricity is free.

I like the design, the PSU and I think it can be OC'ed. If you don't count the energy costs in, you can get positive ROI in a couple of months. Diff. won't continue to rise as it does.
And I like the fact, that I can hold it in my hands and it's no, possibly shady, cloud thing, which can turn conditions any time.

A "couple"? Two? No chance of that. Here's an optimistic calc with 10% and lower difficulty increases.

http://btcinvest.net/en/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=34661425924&dcosts=1450&diff_mincrease=10&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=2000000&diff_mincreasedecrease=3&btcusd=413.24&dpowcon=1200&btcusd_mincrease=0&pcost=0&calcweeks=32&dleadtime=0&action=calc

Break even in about 8 months if you have free energy and have 100% uptime. If you pay for energy you never break even.

Diff. won't continue to rise as it does.

ROFLMAO. That's what everyone said a year ago.

Apologies, I didn't mean two with couple, I obviously had the german equivalent in mind, which means "some".

Hello, needs the S4 a normal C13 cable (like a PC power supply) to power?

Like this:

I ask because Bitmain write 16A and C13 is normaly not rated for 16A.

Yes, judging by the picture it's C13. You'll need a 14GA C13 if running on 120V, or standard 18GA if 240v.

I'm in the UK and I can't seem to find a 16a c13.

Could someone provide a couple of links to the correct cable needed for the S4?

if you are in UK you should have 220V power source, so 18awg is just fine

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!
