I can get a build for this and for Linux there were some differences between the OS and i need to switch out some libraries (like i notices "highlevelcrypto" doesnt seem to be Mac/Linux friendly or there is a bug in the library)

Thanks !

b.t.w. the current Mac wallet works fine for most things. It just doesn't do all the new stuff.

Are there really members in here who are questioning the role/importance/function of a wallet's .DAT file? At first it was funny (zero balance, LOL) but reading on it seems like a genuine query. Never delete Anything until you know exactly what it is/does! If you don't automatically empty your trash, recently deleted files will be in there.

Hey guys, may someone tell me what to do? My wallet does not synchronize. I have downloaded libeay32.dll and MSVCR71.dll. Even I have downloaded and installed microsoft c++ redist 2008 and openssl-0.9.8h but the wallet is not still synchronizing.

I decided to try a VPN and I've noticed my wallet finally has been synchronized.

David, i installed the new wallet why does my Balance show 0 bay?

Cos your wallet isn't sync'd yet ?

synced 100% says what now:)
Got your BAY in the QT wallet? Then just send them to the new address in the smart contract client.

yes problem is is have 2FA enabled so this won't work.. cant i just disabled it for 30sec let it authenticate and then re-enable?

@unusualfacts30 yes i had old wallet now the new but i have my google secured with 2FA
Sorry, but I don't understand what you are talking about. I really don't see the link with 2FA.

Sorry this was when registering a mail addres (with gmail).. now working on the transfer:)
to backup the wallet are the key 1 and key 2 also the backup? i want to store that

key1 and key2 ARE your wallet. Wallet.dat is not your wallet make sure you know that. You can put different passwords on key1 and key2 and you can even hide them in jpegs. Very secure and hackproof.

What does wallet.dat do? I just deleted it and my balance went 0. lol
Your joking right? LoL

I didnt say "delete it" either. It IS used. It holds a history of the multisig addresses in watchonly. Just hit the "rescan" button at the bottom and your coins will appear again.

That was not nice how it was scammed. I think when bob has dumped all of his coins a normal rise is still possible. Price can go to 1 satoshi or to 1000 satoshi before marketplace goes online, who knows... Be careful, it's not predictable...

There was no scam, there is no scam. No promises were made or broken. Those of us who are adults knew exactly what we were investing in and still do. Give it a break...

In addition to the response on wallet.dat. IF for example you import key1/key2 from one computer to load the wallet there, you will have to hit the rescan in that scenarion as well.

So what does "rescan do?"

It simply scans the blockchain for all of your inputs(money) and sees which ones it can spend. The only purpose for wallet.dat is to store that data.

So if you install on a new computer as well wallet.dat will be blank and if it synchronizes it did so not looking for the inputs. It needs to "watch" the blockchain.

Thus, I use a very little known version of blackcoind/bitcoind/bitbayd called "watchonly" which allows for the ability to see what is available for accounts that are not yours or multisignature accounts that you dont have both private keys for.

This also means you can have key1 on one computer/device and key2 on a second computer/device and perform sending in two steps.
Yet another way to make your account completely hack proof. Wink

I don't say BitBay is a scam itself, but it was used by bobsurplus to scam people and that is sure because if you ask him he tells you that he did it! So the only thing i want to say is to take care because who knows how much coins he has left to dump? I will invest later when marketplace is running even if the price is higher then.

I hope this problem does not impair longterm reliability of the project. I wish the coin and devteam all the best and merry christmas.
