hey guys im aware of the roadmap, maybe i shouldve written my post a little differently, what i meant was, is there a specific goal date in mind for the hedging? And after that happens what will happen with our coins? Will they be taken off the exchangess and traded in BitBay marketplace instead?

Guys, I know for a fact, its BTERs wallet. Nobody from dev team sells anything. Trust me, we dont want to just make a quick buck. This project is a business and we dont want to impact our own shareholders we want to grow your shares!

Hey David

Do you have a road-map out?

Also, I saw you posting and inviting users for a Trello for Blackcoin. Do you have one similarly set up for Bitbay? Or is it possible to work in conjunction with your Blackcoin supporters for a mutual beneficial relationship?
.

YES there is a Trello for us. I can make it so you can add anyone from community for projects. Its only for community projects not for dev. Please move any BITCOINTALK people over to REDDIT. Its much easier for me to add on Trello that way.

Can't answer the second question, but I believe around 5 - 6 months out was the goal on the hedging system. Someone feel free to correct me if that is not correct.

Less than 5 I think. What will happen to the coins is only a certain percent become liquid BUT they will have a higher value. We can slowly increase the value and liquidity over time. I have a whiteboard video showing how its done on Youtube that im uploading now. Can we get a bounty for people to join BitBay subreddit and Trello community board? Lets post on reddit and we can decide the bounty.

So what is the difference between this and this quote from the roadmap:

The last two get worked on simultaneously with Hedging taking precedence:
*Hedging transition with the checklocktimeverify --- this is about a month... we can pull from NuBits, but we are dealing with a larger supply so that math has     to work out to manage all of everyones funds properly. If they pay my dev team I can have them work on this fork BEFORE I finish my markets which would greatly increase the speed in the fork.

Can you please post a link here to the youtube video when it is uploaded?

I joined the subreddit for BitBay but activity there is low.  Checked in on the Trello page and it is active currently (activity updated while I was browsing) but I am unfamiliarish with it.

I like expanding the point of discourse beyond this thread but I still think that a specific forum would help a lot.  If the roadmap is attended to, then there should be a lot of traffic incoming and it would be easier to organize it on a single forum rather than multiple websites (besides the need to maintain a social media presence if/when this takes off).

Just my two cents....

200+ sat is expensive for 1 billion coins

Are you aware Bitshares is traded around 4k sat and it has 2 billion coins?

NXT is traded around 4-5k and it has almost 1 bilion coins

So, 200 sat is very cheap compare to what this coin will offer to the world. If you're smart you'll buy it, store in your wallet and forget about it. Come back after 1+ year and boom! one coin is now $.50-$1 and you're rich. Grin

Sorry to steal your thunder but I found them (Trello) and watched them.  Interesting stuff.  Basically confirmed what I had been thinking in that once you hedge the coin it is set and the liquidity is based on the Marketplace.  Which means there needs to be enough product available and enough people to buy.  The Marketplace is where the 'wheel' will turn more quickly, allowing for frozen to move to liquidity.

So your going to hedge a coin, lock in a value, and allow investors to sell (or not) over time based on marketplace volume.

I think that introducing smart contracts into an online marketplace will be a first and the backing detailed by the rest of the team could make this work.

Kind of fascinating...and if you guys do it then holy crap.

Agreed.  Maybe you could argue its "expensive" right now because the technology isnt out yet, but once the team starts rolling out the new features and tech, 200 sat will be a bargain.

I know every trader has done this at least once.  You look the the long term chart for a coin and you say "Man, I CAN'T believe it was trading at 200 satoshi! Why didn't I buy then???  Its at 5k now!"  That will be this coin.

200+ sat is expensive for 1 billion coins

+1

It has taken months for most cryptos to get there. It's a marketcap of 1 million which means a ton of the development was already priced into the IPO without even having been embarked upon.

That's also the reason the price fell immediately after the IPO. Nothing to do with "manipulators" and everything to do with being overvalued. When Facebook had their IPO it already had a working product and a viable business with a track record. It still fell.

Even if this project had been valued at $250,000 as just as an "idea" (which it is) it would still have delivered the founders a decent amount of capital to be getting on with.

I don't blame the people who set the IPO valuation. They're just trying to raise as much as they possibly can and nobody had to buy into it. 10 seconds checking the opening marketcap ranking on http://coinmarketcap.com however, would've shown anyone that there wasn't much gain to be made out of the gate.

Exactly.  You would be silly to expect it to moon right when trading started.  People wanting to flip for a quick profit say its expensive, while people who see the end game say it's cheap.  I am one of those who says its cheap right now.  I can see 1k when smart contracts and some more development on the decentralized marketplace happens.

It may be and it may not be.

[1] - a huge amount of development was already priced into the IPO

[2] - every man and his dog is bringing out coins with Bitcoin 2.0 and 3.0 features, decentralised exchanges and "smart contracts" right now

It will be a bargain if they actually succeed in creating a marketplace that encourages widespread adoption. But making that market exclusive to one currency is'nt exactly exactly a killer proposal IMO. It's hard enough getting commercial adoption for crypto when your open to all currencies never mind only one that's only held by a tiny minority.

DISCLOSURE: I put 1 BTC into the Bay IPO.

Your facts that support this?

Name one that will be launching in January with multicoin wallet including BTC (contrary to your earlier post) trustless escrow & smart contracts from within the wallet. Plus hedging & pegging in the months there after. Does not match your man & his cousin hyperbole.

It will be a bargain if they actually succeed in creating a marketplace that encourages widespread adoption. But making that market exclusive to one currency is'nt exactly exactly a killer proposal IMO. Again, multicoin wallet.

True, but right now, Halo is the only program in the world with contracts. I think that will change soon so thats why I'm working so hard. Even if new companies come out. We will always have our place here.

I transfered 300 000 BAY from my wallet to exchange. My transactionslist shows it as 300 001 (tx + fee). Blockexplorer shows additional 478.93 went out (They are actually missing) to BP2jwuJixkCgiemTsUzeYDwAB2vCb5NAoK. Is anyone able to explain this?
