There should be no issues as long as you only opt for payout by PayPal.  I say no issues because officially we only support US clients however PayPal has not approved the tools (enterprise API access) which would allows us to block non-US PayPal accounts.   In the future we may proactively restrict foreign users however users would be advised in advance and accounts restricted from placing future orders.  We will never accept coins from clients and then hold them hostage.  If we accept your coins, we buy them, and will pay you the funds owed.

Some product updates:

We have removed bullion options from the site.  Due to changes in MSB guidance and the less restrictive nature of bullion sales in cryptocurrency compared to currency exchange it is prudent for us to seperate bullion operations.  We will be launching a bullion store.  Bullion products available for sale for Bitcoins.  Same great value and service but under a separate brand and operation.

The max transaction limits for PayPal & Dwolla have been raised to $6,000.

A fee of $1 has been added to paper checks.  We strongly encourage using ACH (Direct Deposit) it remains a free option and provides faster and more reliable service.

We have receive a large number of requests to bring back cashier's checks.  This is unlikely to happen due to the MSB guidance.  For money transmitters cash transactions (which include cashier's checks, bank drafts, and money orders) face additional reporting and identification requirements.  Even without the change cashier's checks and money orders are a time consuming process which doesn't scale well to explosive growth.  The MSB guidance makes even investigating this as a payment option a non-starter.

ACH and the respective gateways are no problem under the MSG guidance?

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

I wouldn't say "no problem" there are regulatory requirements for all transactions however transactions involving "cash" (meaning the physical currency of the United States or other foreign government to include certified instruments like cashier's checks and money orders) have a much higher regulatory burden.  Our initial legal consultation has made it clear that the requirements are so excessive that it doesn't even warrant considering.  I can't provide more specific details on our future policies for "non-cash" payments as we have an open inquiry with FinCEN right now however it is safe to assume FC4B will not offer any payment method that would be defined as a "cash transaction" by FinCEN (to include cashier's checks and money orders).  The requirements would make any such offering unattractive and the costs would make it excessively expensive.

So I just sent you 2.5 BTC @ 95.24 at 8:23 Eastern Time this morning, and got no confirmation you received it, payment addresses match 100%, and now my offer has expired yet my bitcoins are on the way to you.  What gives?  I sent the coins at 8:26 per my client on the same computer.

The check printer is not working this morning.  First day working full time and I have spent three hours troubleshooting our MICR printer.   Sad
I am 99% confident checks will go into the mail today. A couple of our regular clients (who are use to the status happily changing to paid by 8AM or so) have already emailed support.  Will provide an update once I got todays batch of checks printed.

Update:  Checks printed and shipped.

Fun fact: You don't need special MICR toner anymore. Checks now are read optically, not magnetically.

Update:
I made the call to suspend new purchases.  We don't like to rely on MtGox and use other exchanges to liquidated acquired coins however the spread between exchanges has grown.  This indicates an uncertainty on where MtGox will open.  bitstamp has dropped to $134 vs $141 MtGox last price.  Without solid price discovery we would be taking too much risk accepting new orders.
If MtGox fails to open in the next hour I will redirect the pricing engine to bitstamp and open using their quotes.

And offline again.  Quote API is missing giant price moves.  Can't operate on nonsense data.  Sorry.

Trying this again.  Have some sanity checks to prevent orders when quotes become stale.

Is there a reason we cannot sign up for a new account? Get some blue screen when trying to do so.
