1001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Adult Swim Bump? on: June 18, 2017, 08:48:57 PM

So, as far as I'm aware, this bump, Family Guy, and Almost Human have directly mentioned cryptocurrencies on primetime TV.  Are there any others you guys are aware of, and how do you feel?

There was also a reference to Bitcoin on the Simpsons, if you didn't already see it.

I'd probably expect South Park or F is for Family to have references to it at some point as well.

ROFL! I can see South Park, and I feel like they probably already did, those guys just have to be into cryptos.

But if they mention bitcoin in F is for Family, a 1970's themed animated sitcom, my head might explode. Would be hilarious though, if one of the stoner baggage handler dudes was Satoshi.

And while we are talking about it, people, if you have Netflix, for the love of God go watch F is for Family . If you can't relate, your parents were probably serial killers and the apple didn't fall far Wink

No seriously, it's great.
1002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Bitcoin Adult Swim Bump? on: June 18, 2017, 08:15:58 PM
Finally found that Adult Swim bump I was talking about like a year ago.

Shit, that was like 3 years ago, apparently.

Watch it, the beat that goes along with it is pretty fetch Smiley

And it was like no one else saw this, neither my friends when I asked them about it the next day, nor did it blip on the forum (as far as I saw). Tres cool to see the writers at AS this into crypto, and interesting that this first aired in 2014 (I keep forgetting how old bitcoin has become).

So, as far as I'm aware, this bump, Family Guy, and Almost Human have directly mentioned cryptocurrencies on primetime TV.  Are there any others you guys are aware of, and how do you feel?

I'm just geeked I get to see it again, I thought I might have imagined this. But, I convinced myself that Alf wasn't real as a young adult, so I probably have some shit I need to work out.
1003  Other / Politics & Society / Re: bitcoin & The Simpsons and Family Guy on: June 18, 2017, 08:00:42 PM
Nah, it's just a joke. Nothing in there to promote bitcoin. Actually it just seem to acknowledge the belief that bitcoins are mostly used for criminal activity online.

Maybe because it is getting popular since it hit $3000 price that time, bullying and bitcoin don't have any connections so I think it s like that. The line "give me your lunch money online" is funny, you add up the bitcoin accepting thing because it is online, makes it hilarious.

Yeah, the joke was that he's such a bully, he'd go to great lengths to get lunch money, even having to use cryptocurrency. I don't know what date this episode was aired so I don't know if it got to do with the hype.

There was a bump on AS that had all the writers favorite altcoins and I think Dogecoin was the top of the list.

What is this AS? Also, never thought their writers are into alts.

I  saw this too, and mentioned it a while back. Poster is referring to Adult Swim, night time adult animation for college kids (it comes on from like 11ish to  3am ish). Goes well with pizza, pot, and  the FPS of your choice.

It was hard as hell to find this, here:

Edit: found the bump!

1004  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "All 17 intelligence agencies agree that Russia hacked the US election" on: June 18, 2017, 06:38:17 PM
Few questions for the followers of Trump:

Which do you think is more important to national security, a POTUS getting head in the Oval Office, or a possibly illegitimate POTUS?

Before you answer, remember, the investigation on Lewinski, which went on for years,  was totally appropriate and necessary, yes? The public thought so, Dems gained 5 seats that midterm. Crazy huh?

So why wouldn't an act of war by a foreign state be more important than a dude getting head?

So if we shouldn't investigate Russian interference, why did a Republican led Congress spend years trying to impeach The Bill?

And sweet Jesus, for the last time, y'all do know that the intelligence community, and the military, are overwhelmingly conservative voters.

http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/26/poll-shows-drop-in-conservative-military-officers/

See how much I love y'all? I cited the Dailly Caller.

Results from a new poll show that the traditionally conservative political leanings in the military’s officer corps has taken a slight drop.

The poll, conducted by the National Defense University, surveyed 500 active-duty officers and West Point cadets. While those identifying as conservative took a clear majority, the results suggest the first shift in the officer corps’ political ideology in decades...

Fifty-four percent of officers identified as Republicans, while twenty-four percent said they were Democrats, with fourteen percent identified as independents. Surprisingly, the numbers associated with party identification did not line up with ideology. Only forty-seven percent of those polled considered themselves conservative, 32 percent said they were moderate, while 22 percent identified as liberal. Previous surveys have shown as many as 65 percent of officers identifying as conservatives.

The poll also showed that officers are politically active, specifically on social media. Seventy-five percent of those surveyed said they have seen fellow officers share political articles or promote politically charged views posted by other individuals.

The intelligency agencies are all executive functions. Trump also just increased military spending at the expense of the rest of everything.

Why the fuck would they be helping Hillary?

Breitbart lied. Sad

Americans are genetically and morally bankrupt.  They are natures biggest mistake.  An abomination really.

I'll bite. These are like breaths of fresh air after some of the partisan political threads. This is plain crazy, it's the covert crazy that grabs you by the ankles and pulls you underwater. This, I can deal with Smiley

Define American. Do you mean native born citizens of the United States, or does your America include those that may have recently immigrated here? So like, as soon as you take the oath of citizenship, you lose all your morals and devolve a little bit? Or is it more immediate, does it happen at the border crossing or when you get off the plane?

*steps on tarmac*
*is instantly broke and overweight*
*is suddenly holding a cellphone and an empty McDonald's™ cup*

Huh

Just questions man, just questions Wink

Those questions lead to other questions..

What country are you from, and how old are you? (you are male obviously)

What ideology are you trying to push, or what is your political affiliation?

What strain of marijuana are you currently smoking, and can I have some please? (It's a sativa I bet).

If you only answer one question, let it be 3 Wink

You guys are gonna love Pence if y'all are successful, it 'll be a riot!  Cheesy

Pence is complicit too --  they'll dump him with the rest of the trash.

Maaaaaan, it was just Trump on a tweet bender Sad just saw an article that was a statement from his lawyer saying that Trump actually isn't under investigation, and his tweet that specifically said he was under investigation, a damned Presidential proclamation, was a response to a mainstream news article.

So, not yet (I had a feeling it was like this. I haven't started any Trumpgate gloat threads yet because I could never source the investigation claim independently, but only through that article). But, somebody is about to eat a special investigative dick, Meuller (I murder that poor man's name) is assembling the legal equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters to work on this case. You don't bring out the artillery unless you see some tanks, I think this investigation will yield some very interesting fruit.
1007  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Protesters Interrupt 'Trump Assassination' Play in Central Park on: June 18, 2017, 03:46:28 PM
See it really doesn't even matter this mans views on anything, I don't think we should be normalizing assassinations on anyone. It's horrible to even think of assassinating a sitting US President, it doesn't matter if you don't agree with what he has to say you shouldn't be joking about that stuff at all - It's completely uncalled for.

And the blatant partisanship when it comes to who can do this without an issue is wildly horrible as well, if Conservatives were to call for the death of Former President Obama they'd be berated in the media and completely destroyed. When Liberals do it, it seems to be fine. It shouldn't be fine in any case, we're not going to allow this double standard to develop and be maintained.

Huh

My above post literally describes a situation where a person that made death threats to the former POTUS and SOS on stage at a concert, and then was invited to the White House by the sitting POTUS, Trump.

No conservative outrage here:

But this picture is fake news. Probably some Liberal asshole with Photoshop Wink

So to review, this part is fine:
See it really doesn't even matter this mans views on anything, I don't think we should be normalizing assassinations on anyone. It's horrible to even think of assassinating a sitting US President, it doesn't matter if you don't agree with what he has to say you shouldn't be joking about that stuff at all - It's completely uncalled for.

But let's fix this to:
And the blatant partisanship when it comes to who can do this without an issue is wildly horrible as well, if Conservatives were to call for the death of Former President Obama they'd be invited to the White House by President Trump. When Liberals do it, it seems to be indecent and an issue all of a sudden. It shouldn't be fine in any case, we're not going to allow this double standard to develop and be maintained.

Much better Wink
1008  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Protesters Interrupt 'Trump Assassination' Play in Central Park on: June 18, 2017, 12:54:51 PM
With all said and the done, the American people should give Donald Trump the respect that he deserves as President, there has been far worse presidents, like Clinton who is a serial rapist but since he was a Democrat, the liberals kept quiet about the whole thing. They should just give him the benefit of the doubt and until he proves himself not good for the presidency.
Donald trump will never be President for all America. He came to power due to the fact that waged an aggressive campaign aimed at splitting the society. Obama wanted to unite everyone. This is their difference and the reason why Trump has no chance of becoming the President of all Americans.

And you don't see the exact same scenario, which you just decried, in the normalization of Trump's behavior by the GOP? Members have been on record stating how unprecedented the actions of this administration have been, yet Trump is beyond reproach, despite threatening the very existence of his political platform (the GOP will suffer at the polls in 2018 for Trump's gaffes).

For the rest of America, he 'proved himself not good for the Presidency' roughly 150 days ago Wink most weeks are an affirmation of that opinion.

Back to the topic on hand. Why wasn't thus a conservative  talking point back when it happened to Bush, or Obama?

http://www.thewrap.com/real-time-fact-check-liberals-react-obama-themed-julius-caesar/

The reaction was instead mainly a collective shrug. Critics weren’t blown away, but they by and large liked the idea in theory.

For one example, here’s what MSPMag said about portraying Caesar as a lanky Black man. “It fits, sort of. Like Caesar, Obama rose to power on a tide of public goodwill; like Caesar, there were many in government who doubted Obama’s leadership abilities; and now that Obama’s first term has failed to live up to the messianic hype, there are plenty of people who — for the good of the country, you understand, not their own glory — want to take Obama down.”

Few conservative groups commented on the production at the time, but those that did praised it, like The American Conservative.

And Bush, a Republican, couldn't get any conservative love Sad hell, they didn't even know if they were talking about him or Tony Blair.

But because Scalia got shot, this is a talking point, I guess..

http://touch.latimes.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-93558340/

The production, which has been in previews since May 23, got little notice until the cri de guerre was issued last week by right-wing Breitbart News (“‘Trump’ stabbed to death in Central Park Production of ‘Julius Caesar’”), followed by Fox News.

Somehow I just knew Breitbart would be wrapped up on this. Bannon is never too far away in this day and age Smiley

Meanwhile, no outrage when a musician says shit like this about a sitting POTUS and secretary of state:

About Hillary Clinton: "You probably can't use the term `toxic cunt' in your magazine, but that's what she is. Her very existence insults the spirit of individualism in this country. This bitch is nothing but a two-bit whore for Fidel Castro." [Westword, 7/27/94]

Obama, he's a piece of shit, and I told him to suck on my machine gun. Let's hear it for him. And then I was in New York. I said, "Hey, Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless bitch. Since I'm in California, how about [Senator] Barbara Boxer [D-CA], she might want to suck on my machine gun. And [Senator] Dianne Feinstein [D-CA], ride one of these you worthless whore. Any questions? [Ted Nugent via LiveLeak.com, accessed 10/1/12]

No sir, Mr Nugent, you have made yourself quite clear Wink

We should invite that guy to the White House..

Oh wait, Trump already did Wink

1009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: June 18, 2017, 11:55:40 AM
Today many people rely on bitcoin, in the sense that they are now focusing on the world of cryptocurrency, leaving their jobs

Is there something like this, is there any special tips because i want to focus but not yet dare?

I believe many people rely on bitcoin as another source of income online and not most of them mainly rely on bitcoin as the only source of income. If you are currently working, alot of things really need to be taken into consideration before you think of you quit your current job for Bitcoin. If you have an offer for the position of moderator and you see that what moderator earn per month is far higher than your current earning go ahead but if not please remain where you  are do the job as an additional source of income.

I think staking a career on the single thing is the definition of risky, unless one knows with certainty that said 'stream' is permanent.. BTC has great potential and blockchain technology will be a household concept within the next few decades (provided bitcoin persists). Meanwhile, one should keep pursuing his current career goals with bitcoin as 'side thing'.

Bitcoin is cool and all, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Eggs and baskets and such Wink
1010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: June 18, 2017, 11:12:08 AM
I think bitcoin will not die, for now we see there are still many who trust this crypto currency good for various activities in cyberspace, besides the increasing market demand makes bitcoin persist at its peak, maybe there is only one alasa , Bitcoin can die if the country inhabited blocked internet access which resulted in can not access the internet

Banning bitcoin and other cryptos by the government is not enough to make them die. Because as long as we are still here, the market is there and people will still use it, bitcoin will go undeeground first, it isn't going to die Wink And even if ISP's will block connections, I feel as though someone would make a work around, we are dealing with open sourced code here.

Don't you really want to wait until
all the American soldiers are over there?

The war you've never heard of

Six years ago, a deputy commanding general for U.S. Army Special Operations Command gave a conservative estimate of 116 missions being carried out at any one time by Navy SEALs, Army Green Berets, and other special operations forces across the globe.

Today, according to U.S. military documents obtained by VICE News, special operators are carrying out nearly 100 missions at any given time — in Africa alone. It's the latest sign of the military's quiet but ever-expanding presence on the continent, one that represents the most dramatic growth in the deployment of America's elite troops to any region of the globe.

In 2006, just 1 percent of all U.S. commandos deployed overseas were in Africa. In 2010, it was 3 percent. By 2016, that number had jumped to more than 17 percent. In fact, according to data supplied by U.S. Special Operations Command, there are now more special operations personnel devoted to Africa than anywhere except the Middle East — 1,700 people spread out across 20 countries dedicated to assisting the U.S. military's African partners in their fight against terrorism and extremism.

Cool

I'll follow BD up with another article,  because if you want to talk about Africa, let's talk about Africa.

From Wikileaks (we can all agree.thus isn't fake news, no?)

https://wikileaks.org/wiki/Hiding_Africa%27s_Looted_Funds:_The_Silence_of_Western_Media

Quite often when you read newspapers, listen to the radio and watch television in the West you will are bombarded with how poor and corrupt Africans are. However, you will never watch, read or hear anything in these media outlets on the role play by : Western banking institutions; property development and estate companies; technology corporations; oil and mining cartels; defense and engineering companies; and western political and business elite in promoting corruption in Africa.
When it comes to Africa and the developing world, the Western media pretend to be doing a good job only when there is an embarrassing story or a scandal that undermines their own credibility as the watchdog of the state. It is not uncommon to see poverty stricken Africans being shown in documentaries, movies, and television screens in the West but these same documentaries fail to show the involvement of Western capitalist institutions in fanning the poverty. Although corruption involves a giver and recipient, it is always the taker who is reported in the media. In many instances bribes are offered in order to secure contracts, secure official favour or to induce officials in order to influence the out come of a government decision. In other instances people become corrupt because of the existence of favouring conditions as can be seen in most western countries with their banking secrecy laws.
Why does the media in the West ignore the role of western institutions in corrupt deals? The media in the west tend to ignore the role of western institutions for many reasons. They would rather show the poverty level in Africa but refuse to show the role play by western institutions for fear of loosing revenue through adverts. Most media outlets survive through advertisements from mega businesses and the multinational corporations so for fear of loosing revenues the media turn a blind eye to their activities such bribing politicians, public officials and polluting the environment. Again the editors, programme directors and the other big wigs in the media are thelselves shareholders in the companies in question so why would they want to jeopardise the source of their own wealth?

I will say plainly I think the hands that type your words are the same hands that type EchoYuHatesBlacks', but what do I know? Just more words and opinions, we all have them.

Forced Emission controls in a free country is a crime, you can remove these and pollute all you want.  For best results get SUV, motorcycle, or other gas guzzler.  I leave mine on overnight. Fuck tyrants.

We can fight the environment together. Fuck nature. I'll burn some old tires next to some trees. Wink

But seriously, your rhetoric has limited scope, and begs an equivalency. If you would consider the imposition of carbon controls as a crime against your person, what about the greater crime that your unrestricted footprint causes against your fellow? If you would effect the environment in a way disagreeable to another, what about the crime against that person? Someone's free will is going to get stepped on in this, which one is more important?

Does the ability to exercise ones will only apply to yourself, or do you respect everyone's free will?

And from the greater societal viewpoint, which does the most harm to the human gestalt? Your will being preserved, or the 'others'  that would deny you your right to waste energy? Wink

1015  Other / Politics & Society / Re: God smiles when Americans die, 2 more U.S. mass shootings on: June 16, 2017, 11:40:49 AM
Because you can fit all of the people form one nation under the same roof. Generalization is the most stupid thing you can do.

Again, the supporters of stricter laws about guns will scream that we need to limit the people's access to weapons. I will say that the reason is not the weapon. People who use weapons in such situations mentally abnormal. In China or Japan and there are mass killings with a knife.

Absolutely, there's pretty much nothing that you can do  with banning guns besides disarming people who could use it to legit defend themselves. The one who wants to kill will find a way to obtain guns or use something else as a knife.

Maybe if on the ruse of a heinous crime, you disarm 10,000 people, you have just caused twenty assaults, rapes, or murders. Those who actually care about the welfare of people would not want this. Those who simply want the State to have power are the only ones who want this.

Serious question, how do you feel about the gun laws in place, do you think they are too strict generally, and how do you feel about folks having assault weapons? Not trolling you, I see you are very pro gun but I am not aware of the extent.

With that being said, I don't think the mass shootings are an issue of gun control. It's an issue of crazy motherfucker control. This could have been done with a rifle and a BumpFire stock. We need to monitor social media a little better for radicalization, and people need to chill the fuck out.

So what's the difference (other than cultural) between killing dogs for consumption and killing cows/pigs? All of those animals have brains  capable of feeling pain/stress/trauma.
I'm sure there are people in India disgusted by 'westerners' slaughtering cows. Why would you expect Chinese to abandon their tradition and adjust to western ones?

Are you advocating for complete ban on dog meat or just for 'humanitarian' killing?
Dogs are mans best friend that's the difference..FUCK YOU CHINA FOR EATING DOGS Angry..And any other country who eats dogs..

Why would you expect Chinese to abandon their tradition and adjust to western ones?

Mind you didn't you Chinese eat each other at one stage in history..Fried human eye balls 12 for 5 yuan Grin Grin..

Some animals should never be killed for food Grin

LMAO. Cookie +1

I'm going to go out on a limb. I'll eat anything, given the situation. Dog, cat, horse, no fucks given; of course we are talking about an emergency situation for a lot of these. I say that to say this; no problem with the eating of dogs, but if you are going to harvest anything, do it right. I'm a hunter. Use what you kill, and kill as clean as possible. Just as easy to kill the dogs cleanly, but like you, I am aware of the cultural practice of 'tenderizing meat' through suffering (it actually does the opposite).

With that being said, I bet that shit tastes sooo good Smiley Asians and Hispanics have harnessed the power of MSG, these dogs are probably off the fucking chain with a bottle of TsingTao and some hot white rice.

Today reported that after the operation the Congressman has sharply worsened, and doctors continue to fight for his life. It is a pity that the Americans were not ready to test the electoral manipulation.
You mean the fake story that lying cunts of the left kept hammering the public with, to whip up an anti-Trump frenzy? That story, right?

Tell you what.

You don't get to take the moral high ground, lecturing condescendingly along with other loudmouth punks when one of your crowd gets a bit out of line. Just accept it for what it is.

You and your kind wanted to whip up a frenzy of hate, and you need to deal with the consequences. Such as an occasional wacko believing your shit and acting on it.

For over a year, we've all been spectators to increasing amounts of violence on the American political left.

We agree partially. This is certainly leftist terrorism, the likes of which we haven't seen since the 60s (think of all the environmental terrorists from back in the say, the animal rights dudes that would attack whaling ships). But the statement should read:

'For over a year, we've all been spectators to increasing amounts of violence on the American ideological far right, as well as a higher occurance of hate crimes.'

Did you not read my alt right terrorism thread? You posted on it like, ten times, I thought you were soaking it all in, like seasoning Wink

1018  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin improve the economy of a country? on: June 16, 2017, 12:05:36 AM
Bitcoin is both a currency and an asset, it doesn't actually reduce efficiency through which is what would improve the economy of a country. The only way is if a specific country disproportionately has a large amount of bitcoin relative to its population compared to other countries and its price went up then you would at some point see flows of money going to that country and improving the economy. This is however an unlikely scenario.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / So Lets Talk About The 'Flippining' on: June 15, 2017, 06:28:22 PM
Hey peeps, Green here. Read an article a little earlier today about a possible flip of major value from BTC to ETH, essentially that Ethereum will overcome the price of Bitcoin. That's a pretty hard sell for me Wink Bitcoin is too old, too trusted, too capitalized for that. But there are some variables..

We are looking at scaling issues still (Amiright? Jesus!) on top of this possible hark fork that aforementioned shitshow has possibly yielded. On top of this bubble finally popping (it was intentionally popped by the coordinated DDOS efforts across multiple exchanges, but that's a whole different thread Wink )

So what do you guys think? Anything to this 'Flippining', or is it just a bunch of baloney? Smiley

If it will be anything like the Fappening, then I at least want to sit back and see what develops Wink

I think its time to jump ship and trade my bitcoin for eth. With the rate of growth of ethereum and the upcoming split with bitcoin, this can be an great opportunity. What do you guys think?

yes you should absolutely do that. make sure to do it as fast as possible.

because there will only be 21 million bitcoins and you are holding some part of it which is preventing the rest of us from holding that part.
there is no limit to how many ETH will be though!

I see what you did there, and that's fucking hilarious Wink
You get a cookie.

But seriously, don't go full retard folks. Bitcoin might be a little dicey at the moment, but you should never put all your eggs in one basket in the first place.
