I'm all about P2Pool...  so I recommend:

http://limp2pool.fr:9022/static/

It's where I am pointing... it's not my own node, but I've been happy there for a long time.

.... there are other nodes too, just make sure they've updated. Also depends where you are as with P2Pool you should keep the latency low(ish)...

Eastern US

For the moment it appears the only ones that have updated so far are based in Europe. Might be best to go for a normal pool for now where geography isn't as important.

We are working on getting DigiHash.co online for Scypt mining (will be where we point the ASICs we rent). It will be on a server in Dallas, TX.

I agree, I think we are getting really close to the point where if we don't push to the new algo soon I feel like we will lose our momentum.  We really need a coordinated mining effort in order to push through to the change over block.

I can push 25 MH/s at it. Which pool do you all recommend?
These Scrypt Pools have updated:

CryptoPool Mining
Coinium

P2P Pools
E-Pool.net
French P2P
P2P SK Pool

Glad to have some updates, thanks. I will keep my rigs mining on P2Pool....  ~85MH give or take. Lets get this party started already. I agree with the rest, lets just stick with the plan and raise the hashrate slowly and wait for 145,000.... rather than push out another update.

BTW... NZ_miner...  thanks for your efforts so far. I've noticed the super fluctuations in hashrate and in fact due to your efforts it felt like it was the old days again mining DGB...  found tons of blocks overnight last night.  But then it came to a sudden halt, and I guess this is when you pulled your hashrate and left the difficulty sky high :-) .  Anyway, hopefully we can persuade you to come back and help push things along. Not everyone here has the resources to throw that kind of hashrate at the network...  but that doesn't mean it's not appreciated.

Thanks for keeping your hash on the network td!

Does anyone have any other ideas off the top of their head on how to speed up the block timing up to block 145k  besides another mandatory update?
1006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: August 26, 2014, 07:38:49 PM
I don't know if it's only a push of a button, but If you could temporarily disable the shield, the current net hashrate would eat up the remaining blocks in a matter of... idunno, but quickly.
If it isn't possible, than lowering the kick-in block number is a good idea.
Unfortunately this is not possible but would be very helpful right now if it was. In the code the old difficulty code will turn off at block 145,000 and the new code will take over. At this point getting more hash on the network is probably our best course of action.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: August 26, 2014, 07:37:13 PM
There is another option to the current slow chain problem. We are currently on block 142, 473. We could release a 3.0.2 wallet the kicks in multi-algo mining at say block 143,500. Then everyone would have to update their wallet again.

We have seen roughly 1,000 blocks since releasing the wallet over a week ago.

What are your thoughts?

First i really want to thank you for the nice update.

I think releasing a new wallet so everybody need's to update again just to push it is not that good of a idea.

I am sure the community/supporters within  digibyte is willing to help you with solving the blocks faster so we reach block 145.000 fast enough,
we just have to make sure everybody is updated.

Get some tweets out and mention the last update.

After the update kicks in i will work on accepting Digibyte for my business.
Will contact you and have some questions later on.

Have a good day,

24

24 Hr,

Thanks for the feedback. We will get on the twitter account and rally the troops!

I have finished the Digibyte section.  It will be in the book called Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" (A historical reference book).  Here is the preliminary cover (a better cover is currently being worked on):

The plan is to get the book published before Christmas 2014.

Here is the Digibyte preview section:

Any donations towards this future publication are highly welcome.  I would love to see this book become a reality.

Any further points which the community would like to be included in the DGB section need to be messaged to me ASAP.
Tyke, this is great! We will send you a PM with some more info.

I'd say contact the exchanges first, gather some opinions with them. As far as the users/miners are concerned. I think it would be welcomed. I would defiantly appreciate the move.
This is a great idea, if we could get say MintPal and Bittrex to agree to it along with the mining pools who have already upgraded we would be in business.

Although it would fix the problem, I fear it may harm the confidence in the coin if exchanges have to keep updating their wallets.  It was hard enough to get Cryptsy to update it the first time.  Given that people wont be able to transfer coins from the old wallets to the new one I would lean toward the option of trying to use hash power to push the chain along.  That being said, if the difficulty stays above 1000 without the network hash power to support it then I certainly think that the new wallet would be a good idea.
This is a very valid point and is one of our biggest fears. We contemplated making the switch happen sooner but our fear was with KNC ASICs in the wild now we did not want the chain to be attacked and forked by on or two bad apples before all the exchanges had the chance to update.

More than likely the organized hash approach to push the chain along is our best option. Starting tomorrow we will start renting ASICs.

We definitely agree we would like to see the new mining algos kick in as soon as possible. Starting tomorrow we will begin renting some ASICS to help speed up the process. The key is for us to coordinate a steady rise in net hash. We will outline the issue in the next response.

This could be a problem ...

I pulled all my hash from the network around block 142,410 ... it then ran ok for the next 12+ hours until block 142,473 where the difficulty has now suddenly jumped to 1,000+ the highest digibyte has ever seen... could be stuck on this block for a long time.

I could probably clear it, but am getting a bit bored throwing away my own money to push the blockchain along ... especially as the Devs have not come forward and explained the cause of the problem. Happy to support them if they come up with a solution and need hashing power, but until then I have retreated to the side lines.

Also, does anyone know of a way to monitor the DGB network hashrate? All the usual sources no longer work since the introduction of the new wallet.
First off, thank you very much for putting your hash toward the network and trying to help us ll get over the hump. We dont expect anyone to mine for days on end with no return. As for the problem we have mentioned it several time over the past couple months.

The problem is not with DigiShield alone as it worked fine until we combined it with the 0.9.1 protocol in April (you can see this on several charts.) DigiShield with the 0.6 Bitcoin protocol works great for several coins still and it still works for Dogecoin. We screwed up and did not do enough testing when we released the 0.9.1 wallet. We figured since no hard fork was required everything with the difficulty adjustment would stay the same.

What basically happens with the 2.9.1 protocol is when a sudden hash spike occurs blocks are sometimes discovered only milliseconds apart. Combine this with a single block average (DigiShield only goes back to the previous block) and you get an astronomically high inflated difficulty.

The next problem is when the hash rate drops and the difficulty eventually drops it drops too low and an oscillating effect occurs & the process repeats itself.

The best way to overcome this is with a steady increase in hash, not a sudden spike. Also, a consistent hash base will be a huge improvement. Starting tomorrow we will begin adding hash to the network and we will publicly post the days target hash-rate. This will help speed things up considerably. We ask if you have some hash to contribute we could definitely use it.

We dont expect people to do this for weeks on end but if we could get a rotation going that would be great.

Digibyte is not doing good on Bittrex. We need to see some volume going on there, otherwise it will be removed with the way it is added.
We have been working with our investors to give us permission to disclose the details of our funding as well as some of the stuff we have planned & we are working on. This will definitely help with this problem.

The pools will come. The choice to include those algo's was a good decision. Qubit is great for us Nvidia miners who like to consume less power. Smiley

Good to hear. This is why i posted that.

We have several more pools to add to the list today. Stay tuned.

Does each algo need its own daemon with own blockchain copy up and running ?

so separate digibyted, config and datadir for each algo ?

Yes, each algo needs its own .conf as well as its own instance of the daemon. This is best handled on 1 pool with the NOMP setup.

good coin, why no price movement?

There will be movement down when multi-algo starts. People sold coins and waiting for 2x cheaper buy back opportunity.
This may very well be the case.

block need too much time ....

finish a transfer need about 10+ hours ..

  even can't use it .

so , when you will add hashes to reduce the block time..

i think it's a seriouly problem . i know many people like dgb , and i also love it .

  but for these monthes , i can't see what's new in dgb . except multialgo , but it used to much time , 2 monthes ? 3 monthes ? 4 monthes? ,

i also want to ask the dev , is there any plan to expand the dgb , and what's about the roadmap ? anything finished ?

if you has plans , you can show it, after multialgo , what would do next .

and i like to see ios wallet and digipay .

  thanks .

Once again we are working with our investors to discuss a news release. We will say we currently have an exchange running we are beta testing behind the scenes.

I have notified you about the pool : http://theblocksfactory.com/ (sha256d,skein,qubit) but you apparently didn't read your message
Thank you very much for adding the pools! Will get you on the list in a few minutes. Keeping up with messages on about 10 different sites and message formats can be very time consuming. We apologize for the delay in updating the lists!

Alright, I got it working! Here's the Casheer Digibyte Acceptance thread. Please go and voice your support! This can be a huge step forward for DGB!

Quote
To quickly familiarize you, Casheer is a multi-currency, consumer-to-merchant payment platform. At the platform's core, this simply means; you can hold any currency you choose and you can pay any merchant with any currency you choose, regardless of whether that merchant accepts the currencies you hold or not.
For example: Let's say you hold bitcoins but a merchant you'd like to make a purchase from, only accepts USD. No problem. Simply send the USD equivalent of bitcoins and the payment will be automatically converted, confirmed and USD delivered to the merchant, in seconds.

This is awesome! Thank you for taking the time to get this done! Lets keep up the support here.
@dev,

I have some DGB mined at a multipool coinmine.pw and I'm quite sure the pool is still using an old wallet

My question is simple: Is it safe to withdraw my balance directly to a new v3.01 wallet before block 145K?

OR I'll have to withdraw to an old wallet first and then reinstall new wallet?

I guess both should work but I just need someone to double-confirm

Thanks  Smiley

We have not received word that they have updated. Yes after block 145k there will be issues sending between v3.01 and older wallets. In fact it will be impossible to do. Everyone needs to send coins from v2.9.1 or older wallets on old pools or exchanges that have not yet updated.

If we have missed any other questions please re-post or email dev@digibyte.co We want to make sure everyone is on the same page! Thanks again everyone for supporting DigiByte! We have some awesome things around the corner!

When gold bullion dealers announce they are going to stop accepting fiat currencies as payment by 2016, we have a pretty good idea of where things are headed with Digital Currencies Smiley

1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Two months+ until block 145,000? on: August 21, 2014, 03:52:09 AM
Hi,

Just wondering what it will take to shift the blockchain along to block 145,000.

I threw 100's of MH/s at it tonight for a few hours and it barely made a dent (Got one block in 4 hours) ... in fact the difficulty seemed to rise to keep the blocks averaging every 30 mins.

If this is the case does that mean we would need to throw 10's of GH/s at it to get to block 145,000 in under a month??

Is there also a description of what caused this? (I looked in the thread but can't find a good explanation)

Thanks

NZ

Also concerned about this. Been mining on "v2.cryptopoolmining.com" for several hours with 25 MH/s no blocks, no earnings... FYI
It is best to slowly add hash to the network. When a sudden major increase in net hash occurs DigiShield responds right away. Our plan is starting this weekend to slowly start adding hash. We will announce when we do it. In the mean time feel free to throw your Scrypt hash at the network.

Jared,
It may be worth adding items about the roadmap to Page 1 to show what has been defined and also accomplished.

YC
Will get that added!
Thanks for your time Bogglor, I'm going to check cudaminer.
I may send you a PM if I can't make it work.

Perhaps I'll just invest a bit in DGB instead of mining it but I want to test the feeling to get them from my computer  Grin

We would love to add a guide for Nvidia GPUS. As we only have AMD cards any input or feedback would be much appreciated so we can help get more people started on mining DGB!

Hello can someone answer this please?

Hello

Can someone please explain the block reward schedule before and after the fork?

I see the ANN page mentions 8k / block but I see many early blocks rewarding 72 000? thats 9 times as many coins

what am I missing?

There was a 0.5% premine, I would assume that the first 1439 blocks were set to a payout of 72000 for the premine. (I couldn't find any explanation for this, but it seems the most likely reason)

The first three days of the launch were set to 16000 coins per block. (I found this information in the coin description on Cryptsy, I assume it's somewhere on the Digibyte page, but I couldn't find it there)

The launch happened on sometime on January 12, with block 1440, which was 16000 coins.(I found this by examining the blockchain)

The payout then changed to 8000 on block 5760 (3 days later, found this in the blockchain), and has reduced slowly ever since. Currently the block reward is around 7686.
Yes, this information was correct. We will add an updated coin fact list in the OP to eliminate confusion.
It reads as interested people are loosing their interest when they see OP   Shocked
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=746983.0

In fact, other coins have much more information on their OP. I suggest to add all infos about Digishield, Multi-Algo and the road-map in to the OP. At least a conclusion of each with a link to the appropriate site on....oh, wait - what's the URL of Digibyte website again? Can't find it. Maybe linking the big graphic to it? Wink
Also, OP is still missing the latest block explorers, pools and exchanges. Just a hint Smiley
The gentleman brings up some good points, we need to provide more detailed information. We will get on that. Smiley

Finally !!! My own pressure was enough for adding DGB on Bittrex Smiley

This is awesome to hear! Things are coming together! Smiley

We have just updated our wallet.

Thank you for updating! This makes two exchanges who have updated now. MintPal is the other.

Jared,
I would also what feedback you have on engaging more members from the DOGE, LTC, NAUT communities to participate in DGB. I know a few of them have used Digishield. Is there anything we can do to raise awareness of the multi algo and it's benefits?

YC

Making an ice bucket for ALS while explaining what multi-algo is for DGB... that should create an amazing awareness Smiley
Jared, lets do it in your video Cheesy

Once we have all the wallets, seednodes, pools & others updated we will turn to creating guide videos & written mining tutorials. We want to make mining DigiByte simple & easy to do for beginners. We just need the basic infrastructure updated first. Smiley

YC,

Feel free to contact as many people or places as you would like. We are working on getting more marketing material out to promote DigiByte MultiAlgo mining. Will be a week or two as we have some other pressing updates to finish first.

It's wonderful to see everyone participating and banding together for the success of DGB! Really shows the power of what we can do for the future.

In regards to Cryptsy, it may require a phone call. What specifically do they need to do to update to the multi algo? Just download the new wallet?

YC

They simply pull the update from GIT and upgrade. Does not take long at all. Feel free to give them a call if you would like. That may help expedite the process.
