1021  Local / Pamilihan / Re: (FREE) PBA Finals Competition (guess the winner and the series score) on: December 25, 2022, 10:16:52 AM
The series has already started and there is only one player participating. When is the deadline of this game?

If it is still open, I would like to place my guess as well.

Hula ko Bay Area Dragon, 4-3.

Confirmed.. If no one will take that available 1k, you can add tha to mine.  Grin

Deal. 2k bet for you bro and you are for Ginebra while i'm for the Dragons.
Did not open the thread since yesterday and I missed this action. Good luck to the bettors.

Exactly, Bay Area seems unbothered about the crowd as they are able to surpass other top teams and make it to the finals, but playing against Ginebra will surely be different because of their aggressive supporters. Bay Area have to be more focus, this will be a long series and those who have a good perseverance and more consistent, will surely take the championship.

They should be accustomed to playing against the crowd right now since they have been playing against the crowd since their first game. Ginebra attracts a bigger and noisier crowd but that should not deter the Dragons. We've seen how persistent and patient they are when playing against San Miguel Beer. They should just apply that same persistence and patience against the crowd favorite Brgy Ginebra San Miguel.

1024  Other / Off-topic / Re: Has your budget for gambling been affected by the festive season? on: December 23, 2022, 10:12:15 PM
It is the festive season, and it comes with a lot of expenses, both planned and unplanned. The planned expenses are usually higher than normal because marketers take advantage of the season and increase the prices of their commodities and you spend more that usually budget. The unplanned in this season is that you may have some visitors either family or friends and will have to spend some more money entertaining them. For people who have a strict budget for gambling, I would like to know if your budget for gambling has reduced, or if it remains the same?

In the Philippines, there is a thing called 13th-month pay, which is basically, a bonus for the festive season. That is what I am using to pay for the expenses this season. So, I can give gifts, set money for the expenses for the Christmas holiday, and buy something for myself as well without affecting my budget for gambling. I admit, I spend more than necessary during this season but luckily because of the bonus, I was able to spend without touching my allowance for usual expenses.

Oh my, Old G lost two consecutive games against Ooredoo Thunders. OT has got the first slot in division 2. While Old G still has the 2nd chance to get the slot but has to wait for the winner of the match, Monaspa and Team Blink.
They shouldn't be confident in whoever wins that match as OThunders have taken two games against the game. That was so close for them but good thing there's a lower bracket final for the qualification of division 2.

I did not expect that to happen. When I see Topson, Notail, and Ceb in the lineup I already assume they will dominate the closed qualifier, but they did not.

I am watching the Finals of the Lower Bracket now between OLG and Monaspa. Monaspa still has the upperhand in the first game, but OLG is slowly catching up. They are quite even. Let's see if Old G will be able to qualify in Division 2 though the lower bracket.

I expect too much from the OLD OG members and of course, they are a 2x TI winner champion but I guess seems close to be happen to them is that they will looks the same with Dendi era which is over already imagine they got conquered with their game with a not known team, and also no-one not really good in playing core unlike before and seems like they are just playi ng a pub-game with no thrill just draft what they want and topson keep making an experiment to his hero which is not too much synchronize.

We expected a lot because of the three two-time TI champions but we played to consider that these three did not play together competitively for a long time. Notail has been away from the pro scene for over a year. It just means that WEU is a tougher region and teams are good that a haphazardly formed team cannot just win even though they are former TI champions. They can try again next tour if they still want to get it a shot.

I wasn't expecting that as well and against Monaspa, Old G goes home and lost on having the chance of going to division 2.
But I guess there are still some other chances if they really want to proceed to division 2 and then division 1, they have to compete again to the open and closed qualifiers of the next DPC season.
I just feel bad that they've lost but it's okay, we're fans of them but it's also good to see that there are some other teams that have qualified and that only means, there are other strong teams in the region. Yeah, their region is the strongest even unknown names are strong teams.

They can still try on the next tour. They just have to polish their game because we have to admit, they are a bit rusty. They said this is not a serious team, but I am willing to bet they still want to qualify for DIV 1.

I really not referring to Ginebra's win on eliminations as a basis that they have an edge over the Dragons in this series. Since the Bay Area Dragons already played against a full complete lineup of Ginebra, expect that some adjustments will be made by them.

Since everyone is Ginebra including me, anyone likes to have a local betting here where we will predict what game Ginebra/Dragons will close the series?

Game 4 Ginebra/Dragons
Game 5 Ginebra/Dragons
Game 6 Ginebra/Dragons
Game 7 Ginebra/Dragons

The winner/s takes all. The prizes though might not be satisfying so a low bet will do. For example, If 4 players choose Game 6 and only a few bets on other games, no choice but to divide the take-all money even if it's smaller than their bets.

Any adjustments on this rule or this plan of mine suck as shit. lol. But since Game 1 will be on Sunday, not much time left to organize this.

This makes sense since no one here wants to back up the Dragons. Let's see if there are others willing to bet. If this push through I would like to bet on Game 7. I believe the two teams are equally matched and this series will take the distance.

Will the Dragons rely on threes? I believe they will because they have good three-point shooters but on the other hand, if threes aren't going in for them, they will lose. As for Nicholson, he will always find a way to score. He scored only 28 points when these 2 teams matched up, but I'm pretty sure the Dragons want some revenge since Ginebra is the one who gave them their first loss.

The Bay Area Dragons have great cutters and good centers who can score in the paint. I am sure their entire offense is not fully relying on 3-point shots. If they get shot down from beyond the arc, then they have to find ways to score in the paint or perimeter.

Yes, you are right that mate let's get forward, observe and place our bet on our favorite team.  This upcoming December 25 which is Christmas day the final two teams will duel and this is a very interesting one it because we all know how tough the Bay Area Dragon is and the main question here is that can The king of take down the foreign team or Bay Area will get that trophy. But in ginebra they must take this game serious.

That is a treat for basketball fans on Christmas day. Two great teams facing each other in Game one of the Commissioner's cup finals. This will be exciting. Ginebra has proven that they can beat Bay Area Dragons when they met in the elimination round. And the Bay Area Dragons proved they can adjust easily against any opponents, and they do not give up easily. They are patient and very disciplined in their game. This is a good Christmas game.

That's our pride and we are witnessing this game inside our home crowd, it's tough to bet against the home team. Talent wise Dragon might have that edge but pride and the wild fans, that added the value.. Good Luck na lang mga Kabayan!

And we know how powerful playing in homecourt, and the cheers of the crowd is. Anyway, I think that talent-wise, Ginebra and Dragons are not that far apart. If the crowd can boost the confidence of Ginebra in the game, it will be an even match.

@harizen @Maslate Payment sent.

@bisdak40 and  @jakelyson. PM you already my GCASH number.

So let's move on to the Finals. I will be rooting for the Ginebra Gin Kings to win. I have Php 10,000 to risk.

That is a lot of money to risk. I wonder if there are any Bay Area Supporters here. I am also reluctant to support them now because their opponent is Ginebra. We all know, Ginebra has a big fan base and that could affect how well they perform. They perform very well in front of their fans.

On the other hand, Bay Area is really dangerous specially their outside shooting. And their coach is also something else. We saw how quickly he adjusted against San Miguel.

Since we're talking about bans here in Dota 2. Look, there's another banned player in the SEA and that's the Young Galacticos, they're disqualified already on closed qualifier. KSH, is banned for lifetime from Epulze but I guess Valve will also have to step in on this. He did scripting and that's really no good when you're in a competition.

Source: https://twitter.com/EPULZEgaming/status/1605775857045356544

Yangon Galacticos have been disqualified from the DPC 2023 SEA Winter Tour CQ, KSH has been found guilty of scripting and receives a lifetime ban from Epulze, remaining teammates are banned until further notice, pending a more extensive investigation.

No more YG on the finals lower bracket, whoever wins with Drink Water and Lilgun will now be moving and proclaimed into Division 2.

So many bans early in the season. Valve is more serious this year in implementing bans on cheaters, which is good. We do not want cheating, especially in pro games. It destroys the league and our bets, if we are betting.

DPC WEU Closed Qualifier Upper Bracket finals are about to start. The match is between OLG and Ooredoo Thunders. Old G odds is at 1.30 and Ooredoo is at 3.30. I think Old G has an upper hand but the odds are not enticing to bet on. I think the handicap -1.5 maps with odds of 2.0 is a better line to bet on.

Very exciting game so far, though the Dragons are leading the game but I believe SMB will have another win to even the series. This will be a close game, those who take the spread should be confident that they will cover even if SMB will lose the game, as for me, I took a riskier bet, I have the SMB ML.

SMB Beermen vs Dragons was an exciting series but the other matchup was not. On paper, i thought that Magnolia has a chance to be in the finals by defeating the Kings but it turned out to be a blowout game in games 3 and 4.

Anyways, series is over, and congrats to those who bet for the Dragons and the Kings.

@harizen and Maslate, kindly dm me your Gcash number so i could pay your winnings.

jakelyson, hey bro please communicate with them on how you gonna pay them their winnings, thanks.

Congratulations to the backers of Ginebra and Bay Area Dragons. This will be a good series for the finals.

@harizen and @Maslate, dm me your Gcash as well so I can pay your winnings.

Is there going to be local betting again for the finals?
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: December 21, 2022, 06:13:02 PM
I already forgot the exact new DPC system this season but a single replacement will cost a team higher points than the last season. Eastern Europe is a challenging region where Virtus.pro is trying to return back to its former glory days. Yet they will be sacrificing points this early.

The penalty is 20% of the total points accumulated up to the time the player is replaced. DPC season has just started so there is nothing to deduct and they will not be losing any points in this department.

But in Majors, it is 40% per player substituted. That is a lot of deduction. Their DPC points are almost halved in Majors. They will have a hard time qualifying through DPC points because of this. Maybe, their option will be Last Chance Qualifiers to get into TI.

Early in the DPC season, Valve had already set bans to 10 professional DOTA players due to account sharing. They will not be able to play to any tournament that involves Valve and PGL.

1035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2022, 11:10:13 PM
Unfortunately, it looks like Davis will miss most of the regular season games once again, and this has happened to him for the 3rd season in a row.

I tried to research it but there is still no official report yet concerning Anthony Davis's injury. It is just a hint from Brian Windhorst. Will keep a positive outlook until the official reports come in. But if Davis is really out longer than one month, that will really hurt the Lakers' chance to even get illegible for the play-in. The surge of win they had lately was on the back of a great performance coming from Anthony Davis. It will be hard to fill that up with the roster the Lakers have right now. We may see a losing skid against from the Lakers.

I was totally shocked to find when I was looking at NBA 2022-2023 Team Payrolls and saw that San Antonio's Team Payroll is half of GSW total team payroll.  When I look at the standings in the West it's like SA isn't all that far from where GS is in the playoff hunt.   I know GSW will make the playoffs somehow this year but the team salary difference is crazy.

https://hoopshype.com/salaries/

San Antonio is a rebuilding team; they do not have expectations this year and the salary is just proportional to a rebuilding team. The Golden State Warriors superstars alone will already match the salary of the San Antonio Spurs. They are a stacked team having a slow start. I do not expect the Warriors to be in this slump for too long. We may see them get back on the ranking next year. Warrior's income last year is almost a billion dollars. They can afford to pay their players + luxury tax, which come with a very high expectation.

@jakelyson - Nice! you are starting a streak.  Wink

Thanks, recovered my losses from last week's losing streak. Will start risky bets again. Cheesy

Here is my bet for today:

Detriot Pistons (2.11) vs Utah Jazz (1.76)

The Detroit Pistons (4-15) will take on the Utah Jazz (12-17) today at Vivint Arena. The Pistons are coming from a great win against the Denver Nuggets 110-108. The Jazz is coming from a loss against the LA Clippers.

Key injuries for Utah Jazz: Mike Conley (leg), Rudy Gay (finger)

New York Knicks (1.46) vs Golden State Warriors (2.80)

With a 7-game winning streak going into the game tonight, The New York Knicks (17-13) will take on the undermanned Golden State Warriors (15-16) at Madison Square Garden.

Key injuries for the Warriors: Stephen Curry (shoulder), Andrew Wiggins (adductor), Jonathan Kuminga (knee) probable, Klay Thompson (knee) probable4
Key injuries for the Knicks: Obi Toppin (leg)

Phoenix Suns (1.34) vs Washington Wizards (3.40)

The Washington Wizards (11-20) will face the Phoenix Suns (19-12) today at Footprint Center. The Wizards are on a losing spree this month with a 0-9 record and loss in their last 10 games. The Phoenix Suns have won their last 3 games.

Key injuries for the Wizards: Rui Hachimura (ankle)

I just wish them all the best so that this is going to be a serious team and I guess they are also testing the waters if they can get the TI title for the third time.

It was an easy game for them, at least for the first map. I was not able to watch the second map. There were times Blink was a threat, but OLG was able to weather it. Topson still has his tendency to go too deep in the enemy ranks and too far from his teammates that get free kills for Blink. But he still has a very good performance of 15-13-15. Notail has a decent performance for a guy who was away from the game for a year. They will not find a tough opponent here in the qualifiers but a good warm-up for them until they meet a tougher opponent.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 20, 2022, 01:00:40 PM
Get that money ready now, odds are already available.

I am surprised to see that Magnolia is slightly favored to win the next game. This is the opposite of the popular prediction here that Ginebra will end the series in game 4. Maybe the bookies are setting up a trap or they really think that Magnolia can tie the series. Anyway, the odds of Ginebra is very tempting, especially for their backers. San Miguel is quite tempting too but against Bay Area Dragon, it is risky to just go for the money line. I think the +5.5 for SMB is a better line. This will be a sure bet if we base it on Game 1 or 3.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 20, 2022, 12:59:02 AM
Don't get me wrong. If I feel annoyed, you can't do anything about it.

Why that inspirational quotes didn't happen prior in their series? Can you hear that coach saying anything after Games 1 and 2 but now because of winning in Game 3 he will just say things like that?

Being humble is all I want and they should finish the job first. Don't get me wrong about what I say. Smiley

Besides, I'm on SMB winning that series as no way I will support the foreign team. But we should also consider those close things that can happen.

That is your feeling, I can't do anything about that. I just find it amusing that you are sensitive about this when it should be like that. You do not go into the game feeling already beaten. No matter how tough the opponent is, you go in trying to win. I do not find it arrogant or anything on the side of Austria or SMB since what they said is true. Ginebra beat the Bay Area Dragons once in the elimination round. That alone made his statement true. Then they beat them in game 3, though hard-fought they beat the Dragons. It is just an affirmation that it can be done. It does not mean they will win the series. It just means it can be done.

2 games away exactly. At this rate, they have pretty much secured the spot already. They are basically a team that consist of experienced players so nailing the qualifiers are easy for them. Normally, teams from qualifiers get signed by some organization after they secured the spot so I kinda want to know which organization would sign the owner of OG's team lol

Nice joke. I think this team is just for fun and to get notail up to speed with the new meta. Topson also admits that this is not a serious team since he mentioned the reason he did not join "serious teams" this DPC season. I am just curious how far this team will go.

-snip
With that odd, well, it's really for fun.

Old G is just a few matches away to be qualified to PGL and division 2. I don't want to say that it's for sure and we don't know if some good opponents from those unknown teams will take them down luckily.

Most of them are not "too old" to play Dota, hence why they are still crushing it and are still acing almost every game that they play on. Just imagine having TI winners in your team with great strategists like Ceb, N0tail and MSS in one team? Lots of nerding out when it comes to strats and drafts for sure. I honesty enjoy seeing them play and making some weird picks work ina a very conventional Dota match that has most of the meta heroes on the opposing team. Seeing Viper get utilized as a budget Leshrac is also fun too. Made some of my matchmaking games weird but hell, at this rate Old G can compete in some Minors and possibly Manors if they keep the pace.

Oh they are not "old". I think old refers here as the previous team. I just hope they complete the team with ana and jerax so it really would be the old OG.
