1061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Irrefutable evidence that mixers alone are unsuitable for money laundering! on: August 31, 2023, 11:12:44 PM
Mixers in the past have been used alright, but the cooperation that current mixers offer to prevent money laundering and the birdbath of ill-gotten crypto has led to them becoming more of a deterrent to money laundering than something that promotes it.
It happens when regulations become more hectic and more exchanges was hacked, so mixers is the hackers way to escape from the monitors of authorities. And it is pretty normal to any mixers to get attacked by the authorities later on.

Yes, if any mixer will work with exchanges by blocking the addresses labeled for hacks i guess mixer getting hunt by authorities will be minimized.
1062  Other / Meta / Re: Non clickable link in original post but clickable when quoted on: August 31, 2023, 04:31:51 PM
That's not a glitch instead there are 2 spaces in the last heading means after licenses he put two spaces that's why the link is not clickable. While in the above heading he put only one space.
Good point, but how can you explain that the link is now clickable after quoted and still have double space. What's with the quoted post without on the non-quoted post.
1063  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Hardware wallet survey on: August 31, 2023, 04:28:54 PM
It will be their downfall kung mangyari yan which is impossible sa tingin ko.

Considering na hindi open-source mga wallet nila, there's no way para malaman natin kung safe ba tlga or hindi at hindi mo pwedeng gamitin ang hardware wallet nila with ibang software wallet!
Alam ko open source sila but not fully open source kaya hindi ma fully audit unlike dun sa trezor. Correct me if i'm wrong though.
Edit: i'm talking to ledger hindi about Secux, my bad.
1064  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Hardware wallet survey on: August 30, 2023, 11:59:28 PM
Ano ang issue with Ledger?
Alam ko, optional lang yun at hindi required although it's a BS business idea para sa kanila knowing na we are talking a cold storage here not a web wallet.

Pero so far, never nag karoon ng backdoor issue ang ledger and i'm still using it until na di na gumana yung screen niya this year lang kaya need palitan. But for cheaper price and mas simple na hardware wallet i'll go with trezor which was mentioned above yung official/authorized distributor dito satin.
1065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Machine Learning and Bitcoin on: August 30, 2023, 11:17:15 PM
Does the advancement of ML and AI help with the growth of Bitcoin as a currency, or does it hinder the growth?
Possible, yes. No kind of technology will hinder the growth of bitcoin technology as it will adopt all kind of secured way to make the technology secured as for the cryptography. Developers will make softfork or hardfork when a bug and insecurities is detected. It's the same on the banking sectors.

In terms of predictive analytics, I'm sure AI has been tried and tested to predict stock prices & etc, and failed. I'm assuming it would be the same with Bitcoin.
Stocks and any kind of trading prices are initiate by too many independent individual, no one will know how it will go in a certain time and date especially for specific price.

.
In terms of anonymity within the Bitcoin blockchain, Machine learning can be used to track down transactions for fraudulent services and possibly help control the illegal activities transacted through bitcoin?
Chainsnalysis will sure improve time after time and yes, its possible to happen.
1066  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Claim.usdcircle.io legit or scam? on: August 30, 2023, 10:08:26 PM
Looks like this is the same on spam tokens on eth blockchain. With the use of smart contracts your address will be emptied when you attempt to transfer or swap it.

As for the question, who would send someone a huge money saying you have won when you did nothing in the first place, you didn't make an entry to the contest or etc — easy to say it's a scam.
1067  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Facebook Ads Scam on: August 30, 2023, 10:25:22 AM
That's how every big companies selling their ad space to anyone who wants like Google. They will announce that they have strict protocol accepting ads so that authorities won't go to them asking things, yet you will see an obvious annoying and scam ads almost everyday, thinking how their quality assurance work.

Since i joined on some online security related fb group I saw some instances that some of the community report some of these obvious scam yet facebook just rejected their report and continue showing the ad lmao, even some famous fb personality reporting those scam ad doesn't work.
1068  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are they safe for us? and we should enjoy them? on: August 29, 2023, 11:58:06 PM
There are many such things. how reliable are they and is it right to take these services? Because of low rate?
I must confess that I always get skeptical whenever I'm buying at a discount, though.
Indeed, such mindset will always be plausible when it comes to buying things online that has almost 50% discounts. But if you will think ahead, some of these were selling at low price because it was released a long time ago without getting sold just like a very old stocks in the warehouse. But it's not always the same, you might think it could be if its a black friday sale, seasonal sale, etc. But sometimes or even most of them scammers are behind such very low offer.
1069  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitskins upgraded their platform and I lost over 22000 affiliates on: August 29, 2023, 11:06:30 PM
It's part of their strategy, the same to marketplace or even casinos  who are changing their domain yet they don't include their affiliate data, for obvious answer — to save pennys. It is indeed frustrating and unfair to those existing affiliates but you need to move on and re-strategies on how you can get those users/affiliates again — its their platform.
1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock wants to reduce the price of Bitcoin on: August 28, 2023, 12:34:02 AM
I don't really follow or believe that the market is heavily controlled by these large companies.
They can't control the market but they can heavily affect huge part of it once they sold their holdings and/or buy.

How true the rumor is? How they can crash the market if they never sell, and how they can sell if they never bought. Only FUD and FOMO can affect most traders to sell or even buy in panic where market is going up or down suddenly in huge lap.

1072  Economy / Gambling / Re: Concept of Halal Casino on: August 27, 2023, 11:09:44 PM
Probably that's the case here. If gambling is a sin for muslims, then I don't think it's allowed for them to create their own gambling platform.
Yet, some of them gambles, it is even noted that some casinos were built on country where the populations are mostly muslims. Like any other people they will do it regardless of the religion they have although its very risky since some or maybe all muslim (i dont know) countries do arrest muslim that gambles, or even just promoting it[1].

1073  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Megaplay.io - Casino SCAM (Rigged fairness) on: August 27, 2023, 10:46:11 PM

Casino often delete game history that happened few days ago if you are active on betting. You can request it to their support if they have backup but I experience same thing on other casino that I’m playing. It’s not a good proof that they are cheating by hiding your bets
If their intention is to scam the user in the first place giving the user the record they are finding for "backup" is impossible. But since there is no enough proof to back this up by OP  i wonder how he will succeed to this.
1074  Local / Pilipinas / Re: PNP May warning about playing Axie Infinity! on: August 27, 2023, 07:50:45 AM
May existing discussion thread[1] na tayo about this topic so better na i-continue nalang discussion natin doon at better to lock this thread to avoid spamming at duplicate topics, at duplicate replies.

Like i said the same topic sila in which na una ma post yung thread mentioned.
Magkaiba ang general bitcoin topics at gambling e.g. boxing kaya di dapat ito gamitin for comparison. No need to create one single thread para sa bitcoin topic kase nasa bitcoin forum tayo particularly local board — local rule, "non-bitcoin topic will be deleted". Boxing naman is per fight ang discussion so iba talaga thread per fight.

1076  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does monitor size affect trading? on: August 26, 2023, 10:40:25 PM
Is it just for aesthetics? or does trading on a big screen have an effect on the outcome of your trade.
Yes, it always matters. Instead of zooming in and out when using smaller screen like phones or tablets, using a wider screens based of your choice is always much better and reliable.
But remember the outcome still depends on your decision making not on your devices.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Glitches still affects online casinos? Or it's the casinos that sucks on: August 26, 2023, 10:16:40 PM
It's a shame that technical glitches and server errors still happen on some online casinos, games that aren't even graphically intense, they aren't even using lots of data resources to run e.g upload and download speed.
It will always be a thing on every online casino since they depends on the resources and capabilities of the server they are hosted, and servers are not 100% up. There's always a chance for that to happen. Just like what had mentioned it usually got refunded if the casino detected it while playing after the glitch, if not, you can actually report it and wait for their verdict of refund you, the casino probably have error logs of it, if it actually happens, and will refund you after.

But not all casinos will do that, that's why always use a reputable one so your issue will always be catered once reported.
1078  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Nvidia's Result bring a positive impact on Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2023, 10:07:23 PM
Assumptions is the right word. There's no directly or indirectly reasons why bitcoin price increase together with nvidia's stock, it's just a coincidence it happens, besides its only a mere 1-2% increase and its pretty normal for bitcoin for dumping or pumping for such figure.
1079  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance and multiple citizenship on: August 26, 2023, 02:50:24 PM
If you move to country b or c, you can edit your KYC. You can contact the customer care also which I think is the best. Let them know that you have moved to country b or c. But if you are still in the restricted country a, you can not use Binance.
Chances are the account will be deleted/removed first due to the reasons of restricted country. Or possible if the user update its kyc info before the announcement of the updated restricted countries. Or maybe you can still update your kyc info while you are on the grace period given by binance to withdraw its balance.

Nabasa ko yan sa Bitpinas pero parang 2 years late na sila dito dapat ginawa nila ito 2 years ago nung kalakasa ng Axie,
Di ko alam if may mga personel sila sa mga ganitong field kase mabilis ang progress ng technology, or nagiging aware nalang sila if they want to.
