I'm sure neither of the Trofo nor Cryptofrka would be expecting answers or submissions to come in today right ?

If there were to be any incentive for submitting early, I could have tried to be the first for the first time ever today, I don't think I rank amongst the people who really likes to leave it late, I don't think my name have even come in the reminder list more than 3-4 times, I'm actually curious to know who has the least number of reminders so far this season.

I have already have all my answers readily saved, but I'm sure any person who has been following Tennis lately would already the amount of upsets and crazy comebacks which happened so in the US Open.

Below is my crazy fantasy bet on some of the tennis match up;

Trofo, just to be sure, my Serie A answer is correct (No) because Napoli has lost their game against Lazio yesterday? It doesn't matter if Inter wins or loses today, right? Because the question is will both of them win their home games. So as soon as Napoli lost, the Inter - Fiorentina game doesn't matter.

it should be NO,  congrats on expecting Napoli or Inter not to win, Lazio started season in a bad manner, but change it all yesterday
this is second in a row win for Lazio in Naples, and both times they were featured in BFSL questions, seems that they play tricky when they are highlighted in questions Smiley
quick one, on the fiba my opposition had juancho hernangomez, while I had Hernangómez and both are in thesame team/County.  Hope there wouldn't be confusion there.

There already is a confusion on this question, but unfortunately your own answer is invalid while that of your opponent is, If Juancho Hernangomez finish within the top 5 your opponent win the question, but it will be void/draw if Willy Hernangomez is the one that finishes in top, or if both them do, you just don’t have edge or advantage on this question, and there are a lot of others too with that mistake.

How is everyone doing this round?
It looks like a dead race between me and leea-1334, and so far we both managed to get only one answer correctly  Grin
Very weird betting weekend for me but I hope things will turn in my direction when time is ready and every point counts.
Shame to see Newcastle losing against Brighton today, they are slowly slipping in table and they need to make some corrections asap.

I was doing well enough prior to Ons Jabeur dropping the first set against Bouzkova, now she needs to fight from a set down yet again, she was able to get the first break in the 2nd sets, and 40-0 to make it 3-1 game lead but she eventually lost the game yet again. It's currently 2-2 in set no. I'm just going to bed already I really can't stay up for the games, it's not as interesting as I anticipated from Jabeur, maybe she'd get to make the come back, I guess I'll find out later during the day.

I really need Ons Jabeur to win her own 3rd round match to get me a better advantage.

Better advantage, I thought you win if Jabeur win? I just checked this and if Jabeur win her 3rd round then you won this round against Jayce because you will have +2 SD. There will be only 1 question left between you guys but if Jabeur lose her 3rd round then the decisive question would be the H2H on question #8 so goodluck to either you or Jayce on this round

I guess my wordings weren't explicit enough by using the term better advantage, instead of saying It would guarantee my win for this round. However, for this context I was making reference to the question 8 H2H, I feel like I have a better chance than him, because  it would be my SGA and Willy Hernangomez for his Schröder and KAT, so I'm fancying my chances on that question with SGA, but I would prefer our round not to be decided by that question, because I've lost almost all the games that had to end with such questions in this season  Wink

I mean at 36, it's really crazy that he can outlast most the young ones with ease, but Djere really did give him a run for his money,

TBH, Djere was nowhere near winning this match, and odds on Djokovic at 0:2 are showing that perfectly
tennis is a difficult sport, you need to win that last set from 0:0, and Djere was simply out in all those three sets early on, didn't even upset Djokovic mind at any time, losing first serve in each set from third to fifth

with all said, Towns scored 39, Milan won, and that is call for losing this round for me, congrats CLS63 on a win

I don't think that I have won yet. I hope you turn out to be right. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if I lose points depending on the result of the tennis match. Vucevic isn't among my predictions as well.18 points against USA is really not bad.

Alcaraz finally dropped a set to Daniel Evans and thus go the answer 0-2 sets for him and Djokovic combined for set loss, with Rybakina loss as well, the margin for error is getting slimmer for me. I really need Ons Jabeur to win her own 3rd round match to get me a better advantage.

Let the manager worry about that; I'm sure he had a purpose for why he chose him out of nowhere. On the RW, we wanted a speedy and good leftfooted winger with good pass vision; Madueke is good, but his shooting and passing ability are lacking. Palmer is someone I never expected Man City would contemplate selling; he is one of their top players and would have been an ideal Mahrez replacement; he was already breaking into Man City IX and has made a significant impact this season. And as for the price, well, he's British, so what do you expect?

Facts 101: Cole Palmer is playing a couple of minutes/games, but he wasn't thing close to breaking Man City XI, If he was and with Mahrez gone, why would City sanction a sale for a player that's isn't pushing for a move away from the club ? Palmer playing is mostly just due Guardiola's heavy rotation policy that keeps almost all his players fit for almost the entire season, but he sure isn't good prospect. is Romeo Lavia British too ? because Chelsea paid more for Lavia, Chelsea is just being milked but time will tell. Romeo Lavia is more of an upgraded version of Romeo Lavia, and he's British, too but cost way less than worth Chelsea paid for Lavia, while Caceido cost twice as much as Tottenham paid for James Maddison who is also British.

Palmer to Chelsea is completed and he cost only 5.0 - Someone to put on a watch-list. Trofo will not be happy with this transfer i bet  Grin
Happy about it? Actually, I am happy about it, it is now clear to me that Boehly will not stop from buying everything that is willing to come to Chelsea and sooner he gets you guys bankrupt, sooner you can start to rebuild. Just remember all those players have 7-9 year contracts to avoid FFP and that will hit hard in years to come.

Fun fact I have seen this morning ,Spurs with Poch in 5 years spent less than Chelsea in this transfer window. Did not check it but sounds plausible   Grin

Yeah, every rival fan envies the way Chelsea and Todd Boehly do business, which is why Liverpool and Manchester United fans are protesting for a new owner. He's a businessman who discovered a loophole in FFP rules and decided to use it to his advantage to get the team set for the next 5- 8 years, bringing in the best under-21 talents from all over Europe and placing them on life contracts (7- 8 years), it's a huge gamble, but these players' salaries depend on team performance

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

Quote
Transer by itself is really strange. Palmer leaves City because he wants first team football and comes to Chelsea where there is even more competion on that spot.

Fati to Brighton on loan is a good transfer, and something Chelsea should have done to navigate Nkunku injury. Not buying another player that is good but not good enough to actually carry the team.

Bringing in a prone to injury Fati to replace an injured Nkunku? What is the point of that? He is a highly gifted player, but his injury record is even worse, and that is the only reason Barcelona is allowing him to leave since he is nothing more than a liability to the club, and no serious club wants him either. We already have enough challenges to deal with.

Ansu Fati is prone to injury ? You really just don't get it and you make most of these sides of your stories on just hunch and hearsay not actual knowledge about this situation, When did Ansu Fati become injury prone ? I guess you'd say Kante and Reece James are also prone to injury players now. FYI Barcelona did not let Ansu Fati leave, it's basically just a loan until the end of the season, there is not even an option to buy included in the deal, and that's a move to enable them register a couple other needed players in different positions.

And Tottenham being trophyless isn't because they're are not spending enough and you're also completely wrong about Tottenham spending less than Aston Villa, in the last decade Aston Villa have only spent 30 million Euros or more on just 6 players, and Diaby for 55m is their most expensive transfer over that span, while the numbers for Tottenham are is over 16+ players, and 50m or more for over 6 players.

And no actually envies the so called loophole you all Chelsea fans think Todd Boehly have found, if you think it is a wise and strategic plan to sign a lot of young players to 7-9 contract because you're supposedly building a dynasty, I beg to differ, what happens if a large amount of them turns out to be a one season wonder or didn't turn out to be good signings eventually ? You have to keep paying them whether or not they're getting playing time, obviously.

I am not so happy that Areola's clean sheet was scuppered during stoppage time, but hey at least I bought Bowen and JWP, jumping to 10th already. And that's before you count the Triple Captain on Haaland.

Triple Captain in GW 3 already ? That's some gutsy play imo, especially knowing Haaland hasn't been firing well on cylinders, so it's very very gusty to say the least, but Haaland with a hattrick today would surely be better than planning for a potential double game week of which we have zero no clue about yet. I agree. That's if he gets to be that efficient today though.

Areola of all days choose to not keep it tight this week that I have him over Pickford who actually plays just against Sheffield United a team that have only scored just 2 goals so far as well.

I decided to take a huge point hits (-12) this week, Gabriel on the Arsenal's bench was the major factor for me but don't be surprised if he starts against Man United, although that's still not a fixture, I'd rather have in my starting line up for, and points hit also is because I have no plans of using my wildcard again anytime soon, at least not before between game week 11-13 If all things goes as planned for me.

Djokovic looking really shaky, might even lose here.

Not sure, even though he lost in 2 sets the betting market still supports him odds @1.30 if we bet on Djokovic and @3.3 for Djere
The betting market predicts that Djokovic will make a comeback and it looked like he would secure the 3rd set without giving a single point to Djere
Regarding the 1st and 2nd sets, is Djokovic joking? I mean, deliberately giving gamblers a surprise  Cheesy

Djokovic wasn't joking that's why most tennis loves him, he makes every game worth their money and time to watch him play, he just never look fazed regardless of what the odds are for him to lose, even if it's a 5 love game and 40 love match point deficit for him.

I mean at 36, it's really crazy that he can outlast most the young ones with ease, but Djere really did give him a run for his money, and puts us with the 2 sets or less on the line, because Alcaraz now needs to get the job done in straight sets against high flying Daniel Evans with losing any, that looks like a huge task, but there is nothing the young Spaniard isn't capable of himself too.

It looks like Jabeur managed to win against Noskova tonight. It wasn't easy because they played a tie-break in the first set (which Jabeur won) and then Noskova won the second set 6-4. She's playing against Bouzkova tomorrow and that will be my chance to win a point against Slissy who just won his first point due to Hacken qualifying for the next round. I hate myself for always losing points on those 50-50 questions.

All the top 6 seeds are actually just about to face their biggest test yet in the US open, but some are actually more tougher than the other in my opinion, Pegula, the USA no 1. opponent is still suppose to be one of the easiest according to their seedings where she's 3rd coming into the tournament, but in reality I think she's facing the toughest opponent in the 3rd round than the remaining 5 seeded players, she's up against Elina Svitolina, meanwhile Svitolina have been very impressing, all the way back from Wimbledon.

I still fancy Ons Jabeur chances against Bouzkova, than that of Pegula playing against Svitolina. It's just a matter of less than 24 hours, I'll try to put a bit of parlay on all the 6 of them to win their respective games, hopefully it'll be of decent odds combine, except Coco Gauff's, that's the match up I don't think the ML is worth it, and Gauff winning in straight sets over Mertens is easier on paper, than in the court.

I think in the end Lukaku has found the right club for him. Even though he is only a loan player until June next year. But at least Lukaku didn't end up on Chelsea's bench this season. I was worried that a player as good as Lukaku would not have the chance to play this season due to not finding the right club. But when I heard that Lukaku had officially joined AS Roma I was happy. Because Lukaku will definitely be more comfortable with a club coached by Jose Mourinho. Because Lukaku was coached by Jose Mourinho when he was still at Manchester United. So Lukaku will definitely find it easy to adapt to the strategy devised by Jose Mourinho at the Roma club.

I honestly hope Jose Mourinho makes a new contract at Roma after his contract expires. Because Rome without Jose Mourinho I think it will regress back to the way it was before the arrival of Jose Mourinho to this club.

I doubt AS Roma is the perfect fit a club for Lukaku, but he's a player and he'd settle for anything in Europe right now, Mourinho is sure the coach that wouldn't give any room for him to play just based the kind of player Lukaku was, but rather Lukaku would have to earn his spot by showing great commitment and good form, if not, he'd be the bench just like an assistant coach, and since he's a big talker now rather than a good player, he sure would know how intolerant Mourinho can be for such antics.

Sterling is already in your possession. If you need Maddison, Mbeumo to Maddison is a viable option, but this is dependent on your available funds. Do not trade Sterling for Maddison. Having both is preferable. You may want to take of the depreciating assets on your bench ( Stones and Gabrile) before you go bankrupt.

Palmer to Chelsea is completed and he cost only 5.0 - Someone to put on a watch-list. Trofo will not be happy with this transfer i bet  Grin

Down the stretch, it will be Maddison over Sterling due to obvious reason that Maddison would always create a lot of chances than Sterling If you consider set pieces and the likes, most of Tottenham plays goes through Maddison, but Sterling current form is something what riding on for sure, and Mbeumo days in most squad is numbered once Ivan Toney gets fully back and the points is become more of a split with Toney getting the edge, Mbeumo over the Sterling or Maddison would not even be worth considering.

As for Cole Palmer, isn't he supposed to be the immediate threat to Sterling's position or that of what Enzo's new role is gradually becoming ? Chelsea have multiple players in attacking midfield position already, but maybe not so much on the right that is fit. So, I guess if he's going to be a starter it's either Sterling gets deployed back to left wing where he's also very comfortable playing, and have Palmer on the right. And for a little more squad depth if that's the intention isn't too bad of an idea, just the fee being rather weird and overpriced imo.

I finally have a football match going my way to give me an advantage, I don't remember the last time such thing happened, I just believed Hacken have been doing very well lately and Aberdeen are the exact opposite of that, so it was just really easy going with Hacken based on my guess, glad it worked out well for me, maybe I can't finally get a win on the board again after almost 2 months without one.

And it's looking like the WTA top 6 seeds are likely just going to breeze through their opponents here.
My first surprise pick should come about today, Jabeur to lose against Noskova. Also have money on this one since I don't rate Jabeur on hard surface as good player. This is the worst surface for hear drop shots and slices.

I was probably going to use my VAR on her initially because during her first match, she was having a hard time breathing and had to get her inhaler, and need some medical attention, I guess she's asthmatic or semi, and the humid atmosphere didn't help, and that didn't stop her from struggling with the breathing and body language wasn't up and running, but she fought her way out. She's improve a lot from my point of view if there was game she should lose it would have been that, imo. Noskova  have the advantage of the their my match up, but then I think if Jabeur is healthy tonight, I reckon she'd win the game, I could place a bet on her to win 2:1 correct score.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: August 31, 2023, 11:24:32 AM

Alcaraz dropped a set in all his matches in Cincinatti - and this isn't his preferred surface.
I agree that it sounds a lot - but losing 2 sets in 6 matches is actually not that unexpected.

A little bit over 50% of participants chose them to lose 2 or less - which I think will happen as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see Alcaraz struggle vs Evans though, and Djere can take a set off of Novak as well.

Alcaraz first opponent had to retire just one point into the second set, while Djokovic is still pretty much unscathed so far, If Alcaraz were to drop a set in either of his next two fixtures, the 2 set or less still feels like the best choice, Daniel Evans have been red hot lately but I don't reckon if that'd would be enough for him to grab one set still.

And it's looking like the WTA top 6 seeds are likely just going to breeze through their opponents here.

If the US Open Tennis question were reversed, I'm the question for the ATP about the two top seeded players Alcaraz and Djokovic for their outcome and number of set dropped was for the WTA, while the WTA is vice versa and was meant for ATP top six seeded players...

I'm literally so sure that it would have been a blood bath on the spreadsheet right now, because just before third round Holger Rune (4), Casper Ruud (5) and Stefano Tsitsipas (7) have already all been eliminated, and those are some massive upsets. Who would have expected predicted either Iga Swiatek and Sabalenka not to drop any after the third rounds ? and that's look like very probable right now.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 31, 2023, 02:01:51 AM
45 million for Cole Palmer is just basically "we have so much money that we wouldn't even discuss anything under 20 and would rather keep the player and lose him after his contract is over" level. Cole Palmer doesn't worth 45 million, nowhere near that level, the inflation in football is seriously getting insane. We are going to start talking about just 50 million and up soon, nothing lower than that. This is hurting all the other nations who can't spend this much, it just doesn't make sense. I feel like he would worth somewhere around 20-25 million range, I would sort of understand 30 million but I can't really understand the situation being 45 million, maybe more than 50 with bonuses, that's WAAAAY too much.

Cole Palmer value would only increase If he get's consistent playing, but I think it's just a matter of time before he get's limited playing time under Guardiola because I don't know how well he rates him, but he's got some good potential, 45m is absurd for Palmer in my opinion too, but Chelsea have enough to go round after the kind of sales they've made from Saudi's and Havertz, because that's the only explanation for almost 50m for Lavia and 120m for Caceido.

They're just being extorted, but maybe it's fair, if the whole idea turns out good enough, because they've now got a very young squad that could go on for decades, If they are able develop their potentials properly, only then would it have been a great business investment for them.

I despise basketball with every fibre of my being, over 2 meter high, over 100 kg people getting fouls for bare touches. Who needs that  Grin
Yes it is much better situation with DOTA.
100 kg people, short fat or skinny guys that never get injured in real life, except maybe nails and fingers  Grin

Yes, and Trofo needs to get used to it because the regular season would begin around the same time or few weeks into the new BSFL season, and I can't but expect at least one or a couple of questions from it on a weekly basis, because there always at least 2-3 very tough/even match up  Tongue

PSV with a crazy win today, 5 freaking 1, but have them to win last week was task harder than finding an iceberg in hell for them right ?

I expected a very close one just like week, even with PSV being at home the 2 goals difference felt like a stretch to me, but here we are...

It's quite a tricky fixture for me yet again, I didn't check my opponent, not until a while ago, and we don't have many differentials, and I've not been of any luck when it comes down to those minute chances, but finger crossed.

I was thinking that PSV would advance from this round by winning home today. However I didn't even dream of such a lopsided victory. PSV showed by their game today how much they deserved to qualify for the groups. Thankfully this wrong answer wasn't much problem for me as my opponent thought the same as me on this question also.

PSV with 10 shots on goal and converted half of them, I can't but blame the Rangers for this, they just did what they know how to do best, which is being the second best or not just good enough.
