1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoins now, At this price, It Isn't working on: June 06, 2017, 12:51:48 AM
Usually, after a sharp price climb, such as that of the last month, there will be a couple of corrections. Don't buy yet. Wait for a couple of corrections before buying BTC. At the moment, the price is quite high, but I am expecting at least another correction before a stable price.

it already happened when the price dropped from 2700 to 2200. it lingered there for a while then slowly made its way back up to the current price. that is the correction for that bull run. this just shows that there is more trust in bitcoin now or there are new players coming in pushing the price back. the price may not look back anymore unless there is a major setback that will pull the price back down.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what's the fees you pay every bitcoin trading? on: June 06, 2017, 12:43:23 AM
All the problems on bitcoin transaction costs are just a moment and will not last long when the block size really goes above 1MB Smiley

even if block size is raised, what is the assurance that tx will not be spammed to suffocate the new limit? it will be as easy as they spam it right now. high fees is a pain but it will be hard to find the right solution if there will be spammers that will clog the network and transactions.
1103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whats longest its taken for blockchain to go through? on: June 05, 2017, 06:08:02 PM

this is status tracker right here and i only remember sending .0075 ...... the 3.68 USD looks like it went back into my wallet
Current transactions need to use a larger cost than usual, I believe this problem will not be long we experience and every day very bitcoin transactions

The unconfirmed transaction in blockchain is only about 58K which is way lower when there was a spam attack and yet the fee is still high. This is because most of the users are already used to paying high fees. The fee should go down if all the users start paying lower fees when unconfirmed tx are lower.
1104  Economy / Speculation / Re: What could cause price of bitcoin to crash?? on: June 05, 2017, 06:01:49 PM
BIP 148 if it fails and lead to chain split. This probably split the price of bitcoin too. I am not an expert but this is my speculation if ever there will be a split in chain. Hopefully everything goes well and there will be a solution for scaling without having the effects like chain split.
1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using low fees? on: June 05, 2017, 05:33:16 PM
There were time I will go cheap on tx fees but I do not do it anymore. Once I paid 50sats per byte and the tx got stuck in mempool. And then suddenly I needed money but I cannot get on my bitcoin because it was stuck. I learned my lesson and pay higher fees and keep my bitcoin always readily available. It is a pain to pay high fees but there is no other way around it, YET.
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Choose altcoin for trading on: June 05, 2017, 12:40:35 PM
I choose altcoins by their profitability or potential rather than their stability. If they have good devs and the price is still relatively low, I will definitely invest in them. I can wait longer but having 100x or more profit is really worth the wait. Right now I am invested in nem/xem.
1107  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: June 05, 2017, 09:40:30 AM
That's a good calculation. Lot many people as well users of our forum might be using bitcoin when it was around $300, but none could have thought that the price could peak this high. Their ignorance now make them feel, because if they have considered it with trust, they could have got richer by now.

The only real hodlers are the early adopters. Mostly of those joining bitcoin now are speculators and traders who will buy low, sell high. They will sell at every profitable opportunity and buy back on dips. That is not bad way to get rich as well. Holding and wishing the price goes really high is not the only way.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: June 05, 2017, 09:28:01 AM
in the second game Cleveland will try to play better than the first game and forget about it . it's true that the Golden State Warriors are strong in their home but if Irving and James do their best they can win this game . it's really hard to bet for who will be the winner ! i'm waiting for this game .

Both teams are strong and they will always play the best that they can and with this finals, the reputation, money, award and recognition is at hand. Looks like everyone seems to be talking about the home court advantage that each team is enjoying. Well the game is on for later, few more hours left, I will watch it while I'm on duty later.  Cheesy
This game will determine if the cavaliers can stay in this series, they have been dominated in game 1 and I think they are cooking up with a good plan to at least limit the warriors, Durant was hot in game 1 so I don't expect he will be in game 2. Lebron James has bigger stake in this NBA Finals, he was a great player and he needs to live up with his reputation, what would the industry say if they will be hammered again.

since game 2 is over and Cavs didnt make it again. i hope in game three, in their home court they will win.
1109  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy situation in your country that bad? on: June 05, 2017, 09:22:09 AM
In our country, it says that our economy is growing quarterly in 2016. But for us ordinary citizens, we cannot feel it. What we only feel is the prices of goods, transportation and services are getting higher. So much of unemployment rate, because it is very difficult to find job that suits you. Also the the salary of every workers are too small that is not enough to provide your daily needs.

According to reports, the economy in our country is improving well. but on the contrary, the ordinary citizens dont feel it and most of them says that poverty increases. unemploymenf rate rises and there are still plenty of street children that you can see or pass by along the road.
1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hotels accepting bitcoin on: June 05, 2017, 05:05:22 AM
This is a better application of bitcoin payment. The amount is not too small so the fee will be appropriate. And it can be done early so while you are staying, the tx can wait for confirmation. This is good news for bitcoin.
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are You looking for x10 x100 return in a months? on: June 05, 2017, 04:46:02 AM
A pump and dump coin and your inviting us to buy? I hate to be the bag holder of this one if we buy and you dumping on us. Sorry, i'll pass. Enjoy being the bag holder.
1112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin dies, what alt would you go for? on: June 03, 2017, 08:02:01 AM
If bitcoin dies, which I dont' believe it will, all altcoins will die with it. The only way to kill bitcoin right now is for the governments to shut down the entire Internet.

Not necessarily. Bitcoin dying does not mean altcoins will die as well. There are altcoin that have fresh codes, different approach than what bitcoin did. One might even have solutions to bitcoins problem. Those coins may survive. Like nem have different target customers than bitcoin have.

1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Aug 1st and forward effect on current holdings on: June 03, 2017, 06:49:32 AM
Simple two questions, any advice as to whether to be concerned to either transfer the coins to a hard wallet from Coinbase prior to the Aug 1st or not really needed?
2nd, is this Aug 1st situation going to kill the value of Bitcoin?

I guess when your a miner you really need to use a hardware wallet to store your bitcoin came from mining but i guess for me it is more manageable if your going to put your bitcoin earnings in coinbase bitcoin wallet so your can really manage and check your bitcoin earning every time.

There is a possibility that you may lose your bitcoin if you keep it in a web wallet that you do not control the private keys. Before aug 1, you should transfer your bitcoin into a wallet that you control the private key.
1114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do YOU sell? on: June 02, 2017, 03:21:15 PM
There are altcoins that I buy for trading and I always set my sell order to only x5 of principal value. But there are also some coins that I hold for long term like bitcoin and xem. I do not sell these coins even if the price is fluctuating really high.
1115  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You only lose if... on: June 02, 2017, 03:01:12 PM
You lose if you invest without doing proper research and information. Almost definitely if you do random trades, you might as well just gamble your money in dice. Also, you lose if you don't have enough composure because this will make you commit wrong rash decisions that would affect your trade in a largely negative way

These are common mistakes committed by newbies on trading or trader wannabes. But seasoned traders have system they follow so they will not fall to these errors. They are harder to shake even if their trade are going south.

1116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian's own Bitcoin - What will be the impact to the original Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2017, 02:43:37 PM
This will have no effect on bitcoin. It is just like another altcoin but backed by government and bank. I think russia have banned bitcoin before, so this move is not really surprising. Even if they ban bitcoin again after their own bitcoin is available, the effect to bitcoin globally will be minimal to nothing.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do with your winnings? on: June 02, 2017, 09:21:26 AM
I just save my winnings in a different wallet as my savings for the future. From the beginning, I just kept this habit of saving all my winnings and through time it became a routine. I gamble a limited amount every month and I wont get greedy or let my emotions run over me.

yes i agree with you. we should save our winnings whether small or big. we should not make this as a habbit or vice, just for fun and unwinding.
1118  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: June 02, 2017, 07:10:21 AM
They can be. Bitcoin can be used to fund their activities faster than money transfer and it is harder to track. It is being used in illegal activities, terrorism is not far behind.
1119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: About investing in Btc on: June 01, 2017, 06:36:07 PM
Buy cheaper alt-coins and then when it gets profit turn it into bitcoin. Now you have bitcoin and you can hodl it until it reaches your desire price. Good luck with your investment.
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is winning at Sports betting actually possible ? on: June 01, 2017, 05:54:02 PM
I am just an amateur gambler and bet on sports. i saw this thread today on the forum of a tipster ajaxmoor and he is destroying his picks. i think he has more than enough wins i have ever seen in a row. If tipsters can predict games like that how are sportbooks not losing money ? is it just luck ?

Not all tipster can predict all matches 100% win, i think it's just luck and i know that ajaxmoor have a great tips and he also choose a safe match that have 1.xx odds. I mean, tipster not always can predict 100% win.

There are some people who do some research on the teams and can predict very accurately in many cases. But sometimes its luck too.

Injuries in game and fouling out can deter the expected outcome of the game. and there are still a lot more things that can change an outcome of a game. So even if you rely on stats, the game can still have a different outcome. So no one can perfectly predict or always win sports bet.
