1161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long to learn trading? on: October 16, 2023, 03:07:30 AM
I spoke to a tutor who teaches trading, and he said for his lectures, he teaches for an extended period of nine months for anyone who wants to learn trading from him. Please I like to read the personal experience of some traders here, how long did it take you to learn to trade profitably, and what was the hardest thing to learn? did it take you weeks, months or years? Do you think that trading can be learnt well in a short time like three weeks for a quick trader? Can someone who is a proffesional trader just go straight to the point pointing out what is needed to make a successful trader to a newbie to learn quickly?

Learn to trade profitable? Is it only the good side of trading that we have to learn? What about learning how to counter the negative side of trading?
To me some won't give you a specific number of time, days, weeks or even months to learn how to trade, sometimes when given let me say a month to learn it might take you weeks to get the main part of it before getting to the actual time given to you to learn.
What I'm saying is that there's no specific time to groom yourself into learning how to be a good trader, it all depends on you, how fast you're in grabbing things no matter if your see yourself as a newbie or not, and never see yourself as a newbie when learning something, it makes you look small and you can't give your all or what you have to offer. Ones you're in, see yourself as someone who's out there to face the main challenge of the crypto world.
1162  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You are also like them? on: October 16, 2023, 02:47:06 AM
You don't have to blame them when they give out predictions and some traders do fall for it, actually these traders who go with their (YouTubers) words 100% are to blame, is like knowing what's not right and you're believing it and even helping them spread their so-called predictions.
The annoying thing about these YouTubers is whenever they Accidentally get their prediction right they just start feeling like gods on their own, making those who waste their time to watch and follow the madness they have started to grow, to me I just don't see a true hard core trader to believe everything some of these YouTubers if not all are cooking online.

Yeah, I understand your pain. I have seen someone here in this forum discouraging someone from trading. It's really bad but you wouldn't give up either way. Don't let others define you. First what you do is find the basic places you could learn about trading ( some exchanges offer such knowledge) then you can read books and maybe try copy trading if you want

When someone has that motivation of doing something that he loves and you discourage that person I don't think it would be easy to convince him or her to go back to that idea ever again.
The best is never to speak ill about that person's intentions or rather you use supportive words to lift that person up no matter how long it takes before learning and be good at it, is worth it I'll tell you for free.
If someone is ready to trade just encourage and support whosoever that person is rather than killing the person's dream of becoming a better trader.
Yes, because if you really want to pursue what you want, whatever anyone say, you will still do it and prove that you can do it.
I see some high rank that gives advice to few newbies asks egarding trading. For me, they are not speaking ill, newbies should never treat it as a discouragement. You see, they have their experience and advising what the newbies need to do first. It is not about stopping but to get more knowledge before doing trading.

Some may say don't go into trading that you have no idea of what you're getting in, fine that's it but if you think he doesn't know what he's getting into and you have seen it that the in question have that zeal of doing that thing, what stops you from teaching that person?
What I'm saying is that some members just choose not to educate those newbies who wants to get into trading, they have the experience but they just rob it on the faces of newbies that they don't have what it takes to be a trader or getting into trading, which is bad. We learn everyday so no one is above learning.

Keeping records and history is a very important aspect in the crypto industry, as it helps us know the the event that took place in the past.

So many people, when you suggest investment in the crypto industry, they will tend to make excuses of market volatility and coin performance in 365 days without even doing there own research, what about some years back?

That's the issue with some of these records, well I won't really blame the records but those who rely on event that took place in the past. To me is best to use what the market is actually giving us other than keeping that hope on what happened from years back.
Is not bad to keep records and follow how it all went down but it might change the following year.
Some people will tell you they don't need to make  research as long as they have their past records and they have been using it for year and it has been coming through for them. That's another mentality that shouldn't be applied in the crypto business.

In 2010, one Bitcoin was just $0.20, and buying 5,000 Bitcoin would cost only $1000.
Compare that price as of then to today's price $27k plus,  you would be obviously filthy rich.

To me the prices doesn't matter at all, the price might be lesser as of 2010 but it doesn't matter if you're rich or not and I believe that if you put your mind to it, like you really want to Bitcoin, you can get it. But thinking about how huge the price is, it will discourage you big time.

Not sure what opinion you're looking for?

About the $500 number, increasing/decreasing that amount will totally depend on what your net worths are and/or how much you guys are earning monthly. On the top of my head, especially knowing that every single one of you are beginners, probably only trade with half a week's worth of wages.

Is like they've heard about investing on bitcoin and it has a productive outcome and they decide to get into it. They collectively came out with the idea of getting $500 per person and they feel it will yield something big for them to start up a life of their own.
But the question is, do they know the in and out of this investment they're about to embark on? Is really not about the money but how well informed they are about Bitcoin trading.
They can get into it and also lose their money in the process and I feel is just the positive side of trading they know about and they're just excited to trade.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 15, 2023, 04:37:47 AM
Chelsea have had pretty good results in their last 2 matches and they seem to have improved performance. If only they can be consistent and continue to win in the next 2-3 matches, then there is hope that Chelsea can recover from their downturn. But that positive trend will once again hit a roadblock because they have to play against Arsenal, which incidentally has a better performance than Chelsea. This will be a tough fight for Chelsea and I think it will be hard for Chelsea to get points.

The Blues have done a great job in their last 2 games but they still lack one thing, shooting from outside the 18 yard box. They can't beat any stronger opponent with this playing till they get inside the 18 yard box or even passing till they pass the ball into the net, you see that's where they have a problem too much passing, they forget when to take shot and surprise the opponent. With this style of play teams are not too bothered about blocking shots from the Chelsea players except is inside the box.
Going against Arsenal who have those players that can do both the passing and taking outside shots will be very bad for the defense of Chelsea because as it stands the back line of the Blues ain't strong enough to stop the runs of Arsenal's wingers, not only the Gunners but other good teams that have good wingers. I just hope this break won't reduce the morale of winning straight 2 games, I mean Chelsea. Is like they have waited and now they need to restart just to get to that winning ways.
If Chelsea get a win against Arsenal (which I doubt) then it will be bad for the gunners, they (Arsenal) will have to struggle their way back to the top 3. I'll just say Arteta is ready to take another 3pt in their next game.

You're one hell of a motivator in this Forum, right from the first day I get to see how you make things happen (in terms of posting and otherwise) I just say to myself that you're one of the best.
And I'll still say it that you're one of the best traders I have seen in this Forum, you're one of those top rank members who knows how to coordinate things to fall in line in this Forum, your work speaks for you...
Congratulations to you Mr ZASAD
1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 14, 2023, 03:27:14 PM
Actually, even Everton will not be too stressed by the result of this match. And this can sometimes make Everton players enjoy the match more. I find it difficult to explain what I mean. But the point is that Liverpool being the favorite sometimes actually makes them a little stressed because they have to meet everyone's expectations. And Everton will definitely use a defensive strategy in this match. And this is something you need to be careful of because sometimes when a club implements a defensive strategy it will make the opponent become complacent in attacking and then become careless with their own defense. So counterattacks from clubs that have a defensive strategy are sometimes very effective in troubling opponents who use an offensive strategy.

Which means Liverpool are going to struggle to get a goal even if they play with 4 men attack, Everton will definitely go with a defensive strategy. I think I'll agree with you on that defensive plan on that derby, because the coach in question during his days at Burnley he loves defending more than attacking.
But with the kind of players Everton have I feel Sean Dyche will play both (attacking and defending). He'll attack less and defend more, if he gets a goal I think he'll turn the plan around to play 5 defenders, which will be hard for Liverpool to break.

No matter how hard it may seem the Ukraine national team need this win just to secure that second position and wait for Italy to fall out in their game later tonight. North Macedonia are not really match for the Ukraine side, the way and manner they went about business against England would tell more about the next game.
If Ukraine don't get all 3pt then it's done, Italy will take advantage of their (Ukraine) failure to get the 3 point against North Macedonia. IMO still see the home team to get a comfortable win.
1173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 14, 2023, 12:37:33 PM
In the last two seasons Liverpool have never lost to Everton. And I think last season when Liverpool was in inconsistent performance but they were still able to beat Everton. So this time or this season I also feel confident that Liverpool will win the battle again. I haven't seen any improvement from Everton this season. They are still the same as at the end of last season.

But a draw is still possible. I hope next week I can watch this match. Looks like I have to work faster so I can enjoy next week's match.

Liverpool have been the upper hands when it comes to this Merseyside derby and Everton are always settling for a draw which is just not good for a team that wants to move forward. This season Everton haven't shown any sign of improvement, today a win tomorrow they'll end up losing or playing a draw.
But this encounter I don't expect Liverpool to dominate this Everton side that doesn't have anything to fight for, I believe they (Everton) only sees this game as something they can hold on to. If they get a win against Liverpool then it will motivate them into the next game, so I'll give Everton the winning against Liverpool.
1174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 14, 2023, 12:16:23 PM
Actually trading is for everyone irrespective of who knows and who doesn't no, but however if someone may said trading is not for newbies perhaps he didn't mean newbies can never trade but however I think what they may be actually saying is that newbies shouldn't rushed into trading while they don't have any knowledge about trading to avoid losing money.

I don't get it, when is the right time to say is time for novice to start trading? Because from what you said is like a newbie have to wait for a particular time before being allowed to trade. Is it not best to let the person in question to show that ambition of getting into trading, ones this has come to light then you having the trading experience should do the needful because time waits for no one, especially when someone is ready to do something and you be the one to say you're not ready. An individual can be ready and not being in a hurry but waiting for you to put him or her through.

Quote
Because most of the newbies normally see trading as an easy way to make money without knowing the dynamics involved, so actually nobody is discouraging any newbies but instead they are actually trying to educate the newbies on what is to be considered before going into it because venturing into something you don't understand you tend to fall into a victim.

Those are the desperate ones, we have them in bulk in this Forum and is the same thing we do talk about new members desperately flying to reach that hight of a legendary members without following the right procedure of this forum, some people thinks the way it works for others is the same way it will work for them.
These are the set of people that deserves this thread topic, they should be discouraged since they don't want to know how to go about things concerning trading.
1175  Other / Meta / Re: It is bad to use AI to help my post quality improve? on: October 14, 2023, 08:09:36 AM
As you can see in my profile, I was tagged by "actmyname" as a member of the spammers list. Consequently, I've been considering that perhaps the quality of my posts doesn't meet the forum's standards. Now, I know you might wonder, "Where have you been? It's been a long time since I've seen you" (referring to my account's activity). But don't worry about that. Let's focus on the main topic, which is not just about me but also for other users who want to enhance their writing.

I've noticed some posts relating to AI-generated content, so I'd like to ask: Is it against the forum's rules to use AI-generated content? For example, I want to compose a sentence or comment on a topic where I'd like to share my knowledge. However, since English is not my native language, sometimes what I'm thinking might not translate well in writing. I find AI to be a helpful tool for improving my writing, and I believe it could also make the moderators' job easier.

To what extent is it acceptable to use AI to enhance regular forum posts?

OP I can smell AI all over you as I read your post, why on earth would you want to get your hands in that same place that's written DANGER? You know how it will end if caught, right?
You haven't recovered from the tag they gave you and you're speaking about using AI to advance your post, I can't say positive things about you as it seems like you have already made up your mind into using AI to help your post, but you just want to know what other users would say about your idea.
Avoid what would get you into more trouble, you have what it takes to give better post but you just don't know it yet.
1176  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources use feelings when giving out Merit? on: October 14, 2023, 07:57:27 AM
Naturally, I can't send merit to the member I ignore, but as part of my duty here, I have ignored only a few extremely annoying people so far. If a message is of good quality, I send merit regardless of who wrote it. Just because I appreciate it doesn't mean that I agree with the content of that message. Merit has no such meaning of approval. Some people use it as like button but this isn't the right way to use merit.

I agree with you because the way some of us picture this whole  thing is like with the little issue you had with a user it makes you not to even do what you have to do at the right time, if you as a merit source and you use any form of grudges you have against any user it makes you unprofessional, here's a learning ground.
Using merit to like a quality post doesn't change how you feel about the user, you've done your part and move on, it will even show how mature you are because the user will be thinking you won't do what you have to do just because you guys have issues in the past, all these just boils down to maturity.

-snip

They may pass Fulham and Crystal Palace games without a trouble but they will have harder fixture in next six games. That's when we probably see changes in standing in Premier League.
yep, I fully support your statement, maybe Spurs are only temporarily at the top of the standings and as far as I remember, this was like the start of last season when Spurs looked very strong when they still had Kane but after going through many games they slowly dropped to 8th place and I rate Spurs only ambitious at the start and will lose his consistency after passing a big team like Man City.

I predict that Spurs will start to lose the top their standings after december.

Even if Harry Kane was in that team Tottenham would still be the league leaders but they know how it will end up after this international break. One thing about them is that they have players that are ready to play and get the job done but I don't know if they start playing against bigger teams like Manchester City, Liverpool, Newcastle and others is like they start losing form to getting that consistency of winning and winning, are they afraid when the game becomes hard?
Let's see if this coach can change their mentality for good, but I completely agree with you that they can't make it till December at the top of the log, because the forces that are coming ones this break is over is not an easy one.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: October 14, 2023, 07:25:05 AM
Belgium national team that I thought are losing everything they have got in the past went on to get a win against Austria and it felt great to see them getting their form back on track, with the absence of some good players like the newly retired Eden Hazard and the injured KDB, it wasn't noticed on the field of play.
I loved the composure they had in the game especially when they got that red card, I was thinking they couldn't absorb the pressure coming from the Austria side, the home side tried to get a draw but the defense was really covered and I believe with this win they can go back and correct their (Belgium team) mistakes and do better in their next game against Sweden which is a must win because Austria are behind with 3pt separating them.
Sweden won't be that easy because they (Belgium) would be watching that Austria game to know if they can sit comfortable at the top of that group.
1179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not an office on: October 14, 2023, 07:08:19 AM
I don't think there's anything wrong if we join here with the aim of earning money as well as to discuss sharing experiences and seeking knowledge, because after all we really need money so I think if we can earn money here there's nothing wrong if we are looking for money here while discussing and add insight.

I think we as members of the forum should enjoy everything that is available here.
because most importantly we have to comply with the rules of this forum.

Really nothing is wrong with what you saying but where the problem lies is when members put that EARNING first, like it makes it the main purpose of joining the Forum in the first place. Everybody needs money no doubt but you have to check your surroundings and ask yourself "is this the main reason (just to earn) for this place to be alive up till now?"
To me when you come here in the Forum, do the needful I know everyone has a target but don't let that Earning stuff get into your head, make this Forum a place that you need to get and sharing your knowledge about Bitcoin, contribute, get yourself well known especially the new ones before you know it what you had in mind will just be presented on your table without you knowing.
Bitcointalk might not be an office to few but it is to many and they respect everything that goes on in here and they won't want to go against any rules and regulations of this Forum. Those who sees this place as an office are those who respect this place with everything they've got, because you only take good care of something that's important to you and you devote your time to it.
1180  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: October 14, 2023, 06:47:07 AM
Luxury watches at the top end of the market can be considered as an alternative form of investment. While I don't possess extensive knowledge about watches, my understanding from available information suggests that reselling them can yield a substantial profit. The return on investment for luxury watches tends to be quite satisfactory. Prominent examples of such watches include Patek Philippe, Rolex, and Audemars Piguet, some of which have a waitlist spanning two years. Most of these watches tend to appreciate in value.

However, the worth attributed to an item is typically influenced by its demand and supply. While I believe that owning one or two high-end watches, provided they are well-maintained, may outperform stocks, gold, and real estate, it's worth noting that their appeal may diminish over time. This is because future generations are increasingly gravitating towards other interests, such as bitcoin and other emerging trends. If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?

I'd prefer to stick with investing in Bitcoin with the current expectations about the coming halving everyone would like to have a taste of it. Going for the luxury watches is like using your money to get things that you can use just to show off, no matter how expensive and how you can resell it I still can't go for that if it were me.
Instead of me going for those watches I rather spend those cash on purchasing Bitcoin, let it be in my trust wallet wait for it till it will get me the profit I want. Bitcoin investment and real estate is more profitable to me than those other ones listed there.
