361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What have you learnt from this forum that has actually saved/ you in real life. on: February 12, 2024, 11:21:40 AM
There are many things that I have learnt from this forum that has saved me from losing all my coins.

1. Saving coins in a self custodial wallet
2. Staying away from phishing
3. Avoid scams
4. Controlling your emotions
5. Investing in potential coins and not falling for shitcoins

These are just a few out of the many things I have learnt from this forum.

Controlling of emotion is one of the major thing someone who's joining the Forum for the first time should have because I know we have those old and new members who just know how to trigger ones emotion (negatively) and before you know the heat of exchanging words would start coming out.
If there's a way to teach some members on how to control their temper I think it should be done on the Forum, like creating a thread where you can read it and know how to tackle it.
362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make reading a habit on: February 12, 2024, 11:10:39 AM
You have to read a lot if you want to know or learn something from the forum. There are many types of posts in the forum. Every post is very helpful. There are replays from legendary to newbies through writing. So if you want to learn something new every day then you have to practice a lot of reading, which can make you legendary in future.

Is like you're saying members should start reading to become legendary member, that's not how is suppose to be. You know some people can read because they have to not because they love to and some can read for the love of it and they do pick out informative things in what they're reading, and it gets more interesting.
I even think some people just explore the Forum to read post and threads to kill depression or to forget something that's bothering them (I know we have people like that on the Forum), this Forum has changed the mindset of many in different ways, I mean positively. So for you to say someone has to read and learn to become a legendary member in the future then the aim of reading and learning doesn't march at all.
363  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 12, 2024, 10:43:48 AM
Some people will always say saving is better than the other but it is only said by those people who doesn't have any plans of getting more money. If you save without investing, what are you saving for when you have the power to multiply that savings through investment? To me saving without investing is like a waste of time because you hustle to save for nothing, unnecessary spending.
To save is good but when you don't add the two together (saving and investing) then you're not moving forward, it's better you have a plan to increase your income, when you have a good plan that's when a better investment comes in. We should never forget that some people invest wrongly too.
364  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 12, 2024, 10:20:32 AM
Of course, cigarette addicts are very aware of the negative side effects on the body's organs which will worsen. But that is not a problem for cigarette addicts, they prioritize relaxing their minds and not being carried away by stress. It has become a basic assumption every day that except for cigarette addicts they will stop when they are sick

I can't figure it out how they know how deadly smoking is and they still go ahead to get more. You're right, the negative effect smoking has in their (smokers) body has never been a problem to them, is like when ever they don't take at least 1 cigarette it makes them go mad. Some say when they take cigarette it makes them to think far beyond human reasoning, like they see things non-smokers don't.
One of my neighbor continued smoking even when he's feeling sick, some don't care and they know their faith, they smoke they'll die they don't smoke they'll still die so why stop when you're sick? Life is all about the decision we take.
365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 11, 2024, 09:09:27 PM
This first half I'll give it to Ivory Coast despite the Super Eagles winning 1-0, I enjoyed how we absorbed the pressure and still try to counter the host nation. I'd like it if the Eagles try as much as they can to endure every tackle and also keep their anger in check, because the odds are against us and we should play without minding the ref, I think the ref is waiting for that opportunity to give the host a chance to get something.
I think we're doing much of the defending than attacking that's why the host nation are having more of the ball and after we scored they started panicking and I would like our coach to bring in Moses Simon to drag the opposition into their own half, just as Osimhen is doing and we can get another goal and even more in this encounter.
366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 11, 2024, 07:33:48 PM
If I remember correctly, Ivory Coast finished third in their group. They also fired their coach because of the poor results in the group matches. They also lost 1-0 to Nigeria in the group match. From this point of view, it's a miracle they made it to the final. I think this might be one of the details that make football beautiful. But their opponents are one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Nigeria are my favorites in this match. I think they will beat Ivory Coast again like they did in the group stage. I think Ivory Coast's only chance will be to take this match to extra time and penalties.

Honestly the host nation was so lucky to have qualify from the group stage that many football fans thought it would be them (Ivory Coast) and Nigeria that will come out but things turn out to be different.
To me the finals has already been played in the semi final between Nigeria vs South Africa, that game was the strongest match the Super Eagles has played so far in this tournament. So what I'm saying is that we have beat the host nation ones and we're going to correct that mistake by scoring more than 1 goal in tonight's encounter because Ivory Coast don't have what it takes to be in the finals, they're not good and I know perfectly well that if the Eagles had converted their chances in their first meeting it would have been more than a goal and lets expect a goal or two from V. Osimhen in this final.
Well, I very much agree with you bud, though I am not expecting tonight's game to be an easy win for Nigeria, but I expect it to be easier than the experience we had with south Africa, I mean, man, that game was tensed, the rate at which many people viewing the match lost their lives due to high tension their hearts couldnt bear, confirmed the fact that, the match between Nigeria and South Africa was the most tensed match in all of this season's AFCON,,  while watching that game, my heart almost jumped out of my chest.

And coming back to today's game, I am not actually going to watch it, I do feel like, but for my healths sake, I will deliberately avoid watching the game, I will just follow updates on this forum and on this thread, ivory coast doesn't have what it takes to beat Nigeria, and if there is no partiality in the game, like ivory coast trying to play a home advantage kind of game, then todays game will be an easy win for Nigeria.

Nigeria vs South Africa is the most tensed match in this AFCON I must agree with you then it only means that we are champions. Things are happening because of this AFCON that some of us don't know but I believe that if you can't withstand the pressure of the game is best you avoid your TV or radio station, especially the radio station.
The host nation don't have any threat but that doesn't mean we should underrate them, all I know is that we should get our goals from a position that won't need any review by VAR because that's what have been making us end our game with only 1 to 2 goals. Let Osimhen avoid the offside traps, it will help the Eagles win a comfortable win. For us to make that happen, let our midfielders be fast in dropping the ball for Osimhen and we need someone who's going to make that number 10 role to be more active for our attackers to make things happen.
I agree with you when you said if there's no partial that's when the host nation can win but let's be rest assured that the trophy is coming to Naija. I hope that this win tonight (By the grace of God) would show how important it is to develop our league.

I think football is heading to where we have no idea of, first it was VAR which has been misuse by the refs especially the EPL refs and they later said something about the Super league which to me is just another bullshit and som crazy rules in the world of football that are coming in is something to be worried about because our lovely football is gradually leaving our eyes and is no longer going to be fun to watch.
Now the BLUE CARD will be introduced, where if it's shown to a player he'll go out for 10'mins, like is this for real or what? What if a goalkeeper is shown the BLUE CARD who'll be at the goalpost when the goalkeeper is outside the pitch for 10'mins? I hope football is not turning into something not cool to watch

Agreed, i do think it will be making the competition is just getting even more complicated. We are all need justice but this is also hurting football too. I hope it will not be real. it will be only hurting the football and people may lose their interest to watch football. The idea to put blue card was a terrible idea.

Look at this, please https://www.beinsports.com/en-au/football/articles/blue-card-and-sin-bin-trial-announcement-delayed-by-footballs-lawmakers-ifab-2024-02-09

I think that this rule was actually premature. It's just making the footballers will be feeling so difficult to express their emotions. It means that we are seeing football match controlled by the rules. This is also limiting to show their expression combined with emotion to play football.
It was also hurting my eyes to see this happens to the football. It seems like that there was also private agenda. I don't like this so many complicated rules. It will be making us to lose the real feeling when watching the game.

I hope that this is just another rumor. I hope it will not true. I think that majority of football fans will be diagreed with it too. It was only destroying the essence of football.
It likes when you were ruling people to play like a robot caused by they must follow the complicated rules.

I don't see this working in any way and why would they bring something that would limit the fans from coming to watch the lovely game of football? If they allow this to happen I don't see how fun this game of football would be and I hope before the end of this season they would come to a conclusion that is never going to hold and they should also stop any incoming rules, let this be the last.

This same South Africa we are talking about is also pissed about how Nigeria defeated them and I believe they have started threatening Nigerians living in their country that same day. Of recent they started threatening our goalkeeper (Nwabali) which we know plays for one of the clubs (Chippa United) in South Africa, I can't understand how childish they are to always pour their anger on us (Nigerians) each time we defeat them and CAF won't do anything to stop this or even our president.

Childish indeed, I really don't know what was going on in that small brains of theirs, that just because Nwabali plays for one team in their country (which is supposed to even a privilege for them) that he should not give his all to his fatherland? How preposterous. I used to love South Africans a lot and as a matter of fact I still do, but the whole threat shit is just off the hook because I know if it were to be Nigeria who lost to the South Africans ( God forbid) Nigerians ain't gonna go round dispatching cheap threats to South Africans. Instead we'll just accept our defeat, look for how to improve in case of next time and finally MEME our sorrows away and laugh over them.

No way, like he (Nwabali) should just sit and watch all the ball go past him, and come to think of it, the club side wished him well but I wonder why the people of S/A have this crazy mentality that's growing in their head to always do bad things to we Nigerians.
The thing is that they (South Africans) thinks they're the only ones that knows how to be violence, I believe we have some of them here but we don't have that time to be pouring out stupid threats. If it's how is done that means all those countries we won especially the host nation would have started looking for how to either beat the players and chase them out from their country or do the same to Nigerians living in Ivory Coast, is just sad.

I know they will have to feel bad for losing to Nigeria, but that doesn’t mean they will be threatening the lives of Nigerians  leaving there, it makes no sense to me. Football is not a do or die affair, and in football, there will always be a winner and a loser, so any position in which you find yourself, you just have to accept it and work harder next time, but it shouldn’t lead to fight. I saw that the Super Eagles goalkeeper is being threatened, it looks childish to me, so you expect him to perform poorly when representing his country just because he is playing for a club in your country.

With the South Africa people threatening Nigerians living in their country, it only shows that we are 100 times better than they are. They have a good league no doubt (I must give them credit for that) but they should have done better if they want to win and our league isn't close to theirs, which means we are good but something is missing in our league to be better.
And I don't even see them winning the 3rd place game tomorrow against Dr. Congo, let's watch and see them lose another game if they'll go about harassing DR. Congo citizens.

I don't feel bad...i learn and correct myself. Infact most time i laugh remembering that almost every other thing am better at now i once suck at them. The critics is necessary.

Not feeling bad is good when it comes to critics if you don't wash it off, it will get into you before getting yourself together things you had in mind to do in the Forum will be disorganized, you can forget the main reason why you logged in in the first place.
And you mustn't be good at everything, no one is perfect in life so learning is something we need to put as number 1 priority and we should let pride go.
.when we learn not to take what forum members think about our post personal, even when we get criticise it won't even be seen as  anything,  you can even see it and just smile over it. Critising should even be a motivation to learn more and it should not make one to be upset or feel bad.  Even outside the forum when things are not done well people will criticise it, so this is normal in life for people to criticise things that are not done properly.

I think what you're saying should be true on some people not all, we have the ones who can take it as nothing and even laugh over it and at the same time we have those one who can't see it as nothing, if care is not taken they can even cry over it. This is the same reason why some people don't like associating with others and they like staying alone, so this behavior of criticizing ones post have a very negative effect on many users than we think.

Chelsea won Aston Villa that's better than them in the EPL 1-3 in the FA Cup and the fans seem to be happy with the same saying "we're back to winning ways", always back but when it comes to the EPL they start with a positive energy but at the end they'll lose the game.
To the Chelsea fans and football lovers who cares to take note, I think they should accept the difference between expectation and reality, the fans are always expecting something big each time the Blues come out to play. Chelsea of last 10-20yrs ago is not the same as of now, they're completely different from what we're seeing, this current Chelsea players are full of young ones that doesn't have experience and the fans expect more from them which to me they (the fans) will get something different as in disappointment.
The fans should just accept the reality that Chelsea is now a team that needs to be rebuild, they should give the players both the coach time to bring back the team to the top level standard and they should forget about past glory because that's what they have been living with each time they Blues play, with that alone I believe they can bounce back.
378  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 08, 2024, 09:04:25 AM
Quitting smoking has two big benefits, and I've been doing it for over 3 months. And both can be said to be long-term investments, apart from long-term health, the money used to buy cigarettes can also be used to invest and I invested in Bitcoin.

If someone quit smoking, is it only to use that money he's suppose to use in getting ciga to invest in Bitcoin? We have so many people who likes to do something to get something profitable, a better business that would triple their money and Bitcoin is a good investment but not only Bitcoin as well, we have so many things to invest in except the smoker has much knowledge about Bitcoin.
When a smoker stops smoking and start investing (let's say investment in Bitcoin like you said), profit do come in like the smoker can ever imagine and I feel the smoker can still go back to smoking since there's a lot of money coming in. Stopping smoking is never a day thing, it takes a long while to stop it completely so I'd say is best to work on yourself that's if you choose to quit smoking and see if something might trigger you to go back to take at least a stick, if you can withstand the urge then investing is the b et option like you said.

Quote
In one month I can spend approximately $90 to buy cigarettes, and the price of the cigarettes I buy is around $2/pack for one pack a day and sometimes more than one pack.
And by quitting smoking, I was able to increase my regular monthly Bitcoin purchases from a portion of my monthly salary as well as $90 per month in cigarette money.
And I definitely felt a difference in my health and also saw a difference in my Bitcoin holdings after increasing my purchases, and I wish I could do it forever. Honestly, even though I don't do it, sometimes I am still tempted to want to smoke again when hanging out with friends and also at certain moments.

Good thing you know the urge don't just die off like that, to me I know that one of these days you might have a profit in your investment that you'd have no option than to call for a celebration then before you know it you have already ended 2 packs.
Like I said earlier, is best to work on yourself first before concluding that you have quit smoking for good. You can do it for your investment too if not you'd be the one killing your investment without you knowing, so you just have to stop thinking of smoking.

Quote
And the strong reason I stopped smoking was because my wife likes to nag me if I smoke at home because I have small children, and over time I decided to stop smoking. And previously I tried it several times but failed, and now I haven't smoked for more than 3 months and I hope I can do it forever because it has two extraordinary benefits. Health and can increase my investment.

Without the increment of your investment can't you just do it for yourself and your family?
I believe you stopped smoking because of getting more when you invest and not for your children or your wife's continuous nagging, you did it for money. Without good health you can't invest in anything and the Bitcoin you have would be useless without you being in a good health.
379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 07, 2024, 04:45:40 PM
There's a lot of expectations in this game between Nigeria and South Africa and there's going to be enough aggression from the South Africa side seeing as this is the first time in the history of AFCON tournament that they get to be in the semi's as the best they've been able to achieve is the quarter finals. I will not be quick to dismiss them as less of a threat because they are the sort of team to take you unawares when you least expected it.
Even though Nigeria are thr the clear favorites for winning this game, I'd still advise that they be conscious of their defense. Will South Africa be able to make history by beating Nigeria and pushing through to the final or will Nigeria end their dreams this night, only a couple of hours will tell.

Even in our dreams Nigeria are always going to be the favorite and I hope the Super Eagles don't go into this game to underrate the Bafana Bafana boys, we all know how things turn out for teams who underrate their opponent.
Since 2000 the Bafana Bafana have never gone past the quarter finals in the AFCON, this is their first semi finals and they're going to do what ever it takes to get to the finals.
I think this is going to be a revenge match for the S/A national team because the Super Eagles knocked them out in the quarter finals in 2019 if I'm not, 2-1 was the scoreline, so I just pray we repeat the same thing again (by knocking them out) this year or should I say in the next few minutes to kick off, good luck Eagles.

Chelsea has always been a great team that have so many achievement titles and all that but these days things haven't been going too well for the Blues, they have good players who can make even the top 4 teams to struggle to get a win not to talk about the smaller teams even a better coach (no doubt, Poche is a good coach), but they have been struggling and those guys who have been there to make things to always fall in line positively are nowhere to be found (Petr Čech and some other guys).
Is it that the current owners are the major cause of the fall of Chelsea, that they're not fit to be in charge of a football club such as Chelsea?
I mean this guy Todd Boehly and his partners they have been calling all the shots in this club especially the transfers and things have been going from bad to worse, if things continues like this I don't see the Blues competing in any Europe competitions but struggling to escape the relegation zone and they (The Blues) will lose good players.
