Super Eagles will be facing their last opponent in the current AFCON going on in Ivory Coast and this is a game that will determine if the Eagles will qualify or not with just 4pt and sitting at 2nd position which is not too comfortable at the moment with the host at 3rd place to face the group leaders Equatorial Guinea.
The Super Eagles have no excuse to give if they don't win this game against Guinea Bissau because they (Guinea Bissau) are the weakest nation in that group and every other teams who play against them are sure of securing all 3pt.
For the host nation I don't see them going into this encounter against Equatorial Guinea as one easy game, it would be a do or die affair, they host nation need a win and nothing less than that, same goes to the Super Eagles, because as it stands Ivory Coast and Nigeria are the favorite to win that group or qualify from that group but now they (Ivory Coast and Nigeria) find themselves in a complicated situation.
Who are coming out from this group?

I understand quite well, and Noted, I will be more refined with my word (ingrate) next time. But to me, I never see anything big deal there since I was just referring to the over-expectation of people on Bitcoin despite the fact that the coin performed well last year and the first 2 weeks of this year. I believe that investors and traders should be contented and appreciative if they actually gain and not lose even as Bitcoin almost hit the level you called with only about $1,000 deficient, which was why I used that word. As a trader and investor, I've learned how to be appreciative of the market, this has also helped me to preserve my psychology since nothing is so little, as long as it is a gain, is better than a loss. I do not want to repeat myself again, but one thing that is certain is that Bitcoin sold for over 2 years, we do not expect it to recover so fast, and if not for the ETF, we wouldn't have seen the coin crossing $33,000, not to mention hitting the year-high of $49,000+. We also do not expect it to hit the ATH in just a few months, there is time for that and patience is needed no matter how aggressively we want it to push higher. We are all expecting halving, the current ATH was hit by the effect of the last one, and in the next one, higher levels will be patiently touched even as it moves past your $50,000 soon. This might even happen before the halving, but most likely after it. Cheers!

Not everyone have the same taste for something and in the case of Bitcoin price some might be contented with how the market price is why some won't, to me I'll appreciate the market movement only if it keep going higher but when it starts going down I can't even say Bitcoin price is doing well. At some point some people said Bitcoin is going down but I never saw that happening because from just last year alone it shows that Bitcoin is just getting started.
So why we all have how we appreciate things and like you know we're all humans that's why we want more and more that's why it seems like we don't applaud Bitcoin for the best it has gotten since last year. As an investor don't tell me you won't want more from Bitcoin.
Don't worry with time you'd see my $50k (like you called it) coming to play in no time, that's if the market price is moving in a positive direction.

445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: January 21, 2024, 06:06:14 PM
Bitcoin price hasn't been what we expected this year and December (2023) has also given us a disappointing amount because we all expected the price to be up to $50k before getting to 2024 but still it didn't, to me it was a poor performance in the movement of Bitcoin price.
This year even got worse that it (Bitcoin price) could not surpass $45k and keep moving to the next one and stay there for long.
Of recent we saw Bitcoin moving to $47k but it didn't waste much time in getting back to $40k and now is $41k. While the price is not favorable all these while I feel is the main reason why we had that high fee rate. But as everything has come back to normal I feel the price of Bitcoin will as well be going up without coming back down, let's hope it goes that way to put a smile on traders and investors.
Disappointment? How? Anyone expecting more from Bitcoin despite how much it performed last year is an ingrate. The issue is that human expectations will always be more and more, it can't be satisfied even as things progress, and what I can only relate to it is greed. From the beginning of 2023, Bitcoin started barely at $17,000 and moved higher in a few months and was able to hold at almost x2 of the price for many months after. All what I saw was mainly $40,000 on the forum which I never knew Bitcoin would even reach throughout the year. But for the ETF hype, the coin moved higher and even beat the expectations of people and almost hit $45,000 in the year.

You're really funny to think that anyone who expect more from Bitcoin base on price is an ingrate, you really have to work on your words brother. You don't get why I said what I said.
December expectation on the market price was high, is like you haven't been following up the movement right from September if I'm not mistaken.
December was suppose to give us something close to $50k if not $50k, so when the price started dropping that was why I said disappointing. It was suppose to follow the flow of the market price as other months have been doing.
And nobody is greedy or an ingrate like you call it, this is what we expected to happen not that we ain't cool with how the market price has been.

Quote
In the second week of 2024, it reached above $49,000 which is closer to $50,000, anyone who is not greedy should have even liquidated their position if that is what they are so desired to do. Bitcoin, as far as I am concerned, was heroic last year and what we are experiencing this year is very normal. We all know that ETF made it move too much, and the market was overpriced, so it is normal that it shed some pips to ease itself before there will be the continuation of the bullish movements which I believe will hit the $50,000 easily and pass it this year. We should only be grateful that it hasn't dropped lower than its current price ($41,595) now.

I agree with you that Bitcoin has been doing great but is like a step, without all these speculations and expectations I don't think we would have been pointing out the prices in every month. When they ask how much do you expect Bitcoin to be before the end of January, I believe you'd to say $60k or above, but when it doesn't get to thqt amount or higher and it start going back down to $30k it becomes disappointing because that wasn't what you was expecting from how it has been going.
We are grateful for the amount we are seeing and it should continue going higher not lower, $41k should start making a move to $45k and surpassing it, that's it.
446  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has anybody expected this? on: January 21, 2024, 04:23:05 PM
I also believe December could being us to $40k. One of the reason why, is that people tend to have money during Christmas season. I mean most of us receives bonuses from our companies, so this extra money everyone will have might get a portion for bitcoin accumulation.
We're currently sitting at $38,700+, very close to 40k and we are only at the beginning of the month. If it cross 40k in the next couple of weeks, there will be a good chance it would close out around 43-45k before we enter 2024.

There's still hope if it's getting to $40k and that could happen this week and from the looks of things I feel we might achieve that. If care is not taken the market price could start moving very fast to get to $45k before the next 5 days, who knows, Bitcoin price could follow up the way November did or a little bit better and we might be landing on $50k before getting to the 3rd week.

because the market has been rising for quite a long time, I think we will see a correction first, after that we will see whether the market provides positive conditions for it or not.

I think the correction has already been made and the market condition should have been in a good state for long by now but we are seeing something different. Sometimes it's like that's how it's suppose to be for a certain number of days or months before things get back to normal and coupled with the fact that we have the halving on it's way.

Sheffield vs West Ham are playing a draw and from all I have seem I'd say is a very disappointing display from the visitors West Ham in the first half, everything seems to go the way of the home side in the first 45'mins. I was expecting West Ham to play what Sheffield UTD are playing, too much confidence and showing that hunger to win.
They (Sheffield UTD) are doing very good in this game and the response they gave the visitors is just outstanding, after conceding the first goal the replied West Ham in less than no time, if they have been playing like this I believe they won't have been in the position they are now on the log.
West Ham are still not interested in getting any better position in the EPL table this season if you ask me and it would be bad that they only have eyes for Europe competition they're in. It is either they lose this game or play out a draw, that's if Sheffield would let that happen after giving us this wonderful display. I hope the second half would still be in favor of the home team and get a win.

Arsenal are leading in the first half with a 2-0 win and it seems like they're going to get a comfortable win in this encounter against Palace. The only problem Arsenal are having is playing the ball back to the goalkeeper, that building from the back is not really a good one for the Gunners if you ask me. I'd like if the Arsenal team stop that style of play because Raya isn't that confident in that kind of play.
Coming into the second half I hope Arteta would tell the boys to start shooting from outside the box because the Palace defenders prefers staying inside the box without coming out to mark and they know Arsenal doesn't like taking shoots from outside the box, it would help the team if they start doing that. For now Arsenal are on the right path and they started very well, I think their performance today is because of the Dubai effect, expect more goals in the second half.

Senegal won Cameroon by 3 goals to 1 but that's not the issue, Onana's performance on that game wasn't impressive at all. He was asking the coach to put him among the substitute in their first game which the coach refused and today he's at the goalpost but couldn't make any save. Onana was just showing his busybody on the pitch, trying to do the work of a goalkeeper and a coach, if I'm to be the coach of the Cameroon national team I'd make sure Onana visit the bench till the rest of the competition because he doesn't contribute anything positive to the team.
Senegal has shown other Africa countries in this tournament why they're the champions and they're ready to defend it. To beat the Senegal team you need something special and if eventually the Super Eagles qualify and are drawn with The Lions of Teranga, I'm not seeing the Eagles getting a win or a draw.
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 18, 2024, 03:18:17 PM
if Arsenal is not in good form, I'm afraid Crystal Palace can match their game. like when Crystal Palace held Brighton and Man City to a draw.
Crystal Palace's current performance is almost the same as Arsenal. they are not consistent in every match. even today they also lost to Everton.
Regarding the next match, of course, Arsenal will be the favorite to win. Arteta's squad is certainly stronger even though they have faced several problems in several matches.
don't expect much from Crystal Palace, but hopefully, the match will be interesting.

I can't say Palace are the same with Arsenal in terms of performance, you should use their position on the log to judge that. Arsenal major problem is to convert chances they have got but talking about the Crystal Palace side is just something we really can't explain.
Palace don't have any target, win today lose tomorrow draw and lose till they wake up to get a win, the Palace side can't be anything close to the Gunners. They lost to Everton who have been in a very bad shape and they can still lose to Arsenal only if the Gunners play more of the attacking football than staying back and defend which they know they're not good at it.
But I feel is going to be an easy win against Palace this time around, I just hope Arsenal do get a better striker before the transfer market closes.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 18, 2024, 02:58:27 PM
Chelsea are desperately looking for a striker to help complete the squad but the way and manner they're going about it is not really the best way if you ask me. It seems like the Blues are never serious in any transfer window since they got a new owner, these days they only go for any player they see other clubs are going for especially Arsenal.
Of recent they saw the Gunners going for Ivan Tony and they tried getting the attacker, now is Karim Benzema and the Blues are going for him on loan too, like are they even ready to get an attacker? The team is not doing well and they need a goal scorer.
I think Chelsea are not having a better plan to make the team to be the way it has been in the past or even greater than before. And planning to sell Broja is one crazy move for the Blues with $50m on him is not even the best price for the striker, he hasn't played anything for a club to get him for that amount, is best they sell or loan some of the wingers and midfielders.

457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how do you feel when your post is criticised. on: January 17, 2024, 07:24:57 AM
Criticism has a way of molding someone, either in a positive way or negative way. It encourages some people to put more effort and also make some people to feel depressed and it makes you to stop whatever you're doing.
As a newbie (back then) it happened to me which made me to avoid coming here to do anything but I found out that if I continue allowing words to get to me I won't get to any where, I'd become a stagnant water, I got up and continue from where I stopped.
But when it comes to other people and how they make corrections, they don't care how you feel and is like they don't have filter in their mouth to soften some words, they just say it and if care is not taken you might not understand why they said what they said, to me is a message to upgrade yourself and do better but if you read it without understanding all you see are critics that would bring you down. Is just an experience we as humans had to pass through to be better.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 16, 2024, 04:23:11 PM

I think the Super Eagles will make us start counting points if they'd qualify from the group stage. Next game would be against the host nation and I don't see that encounter going down that easy for the Eagles, the host wouldn't want to drop points in that group. With how have seen the Eagles play I don't see them topping that group that's if they continue with the way they played against Equatorial Guinea, some would say is just one game but 1 game and 3 point can cost a team to qualify from the group stage, so Ivory Coast are going to do anything possible to win that game against the Eagles.

Forget about topping the group now and let be hopeful we qualify from the group stage. Super eagle performance in the last match has nothing to write home about and it's embarrassing to the country known as the giant of Africa. The record will be too bad from not qualified to participate in the last world cup to being eliminated in the group stage of AFCON, a group that involves Guinea Bissau, Cote Divour and Equatorial Guinea.

If we don't fight to top that group then we're not playing for anything and it doesn't show we're going to be feared by other countries at the moment because if we top the group we have a chance of meeting a lower side to play in the round of 16. Now tell me can we beat countries that we know can top their group? Let's say Senegal or Morocco?
We did very poorly in the first game and our coach thinks that the Eagles can beat any country that comes their way if the Super Eagles played the way they played against Equatorial Guinea.
We need to beat the host nation to show how prepared we are and to show that those chances we missed can be converted in that encounter against the host nation, we beat Ivory Coast and Bissau won't be a problem.

Whenever I try to view a post where a user has attached a picture in the post it comes up with this  msg: "btcointalk.org image proxy Invalid Image" At first I thought this was something wrong with the image posted, but it has happened too many times and I think its something wrong at my end. Anyone know what is wrong and how i can fix it?
As a Sr member you are not expected to come and ask questions at this time. You can use talkimg to fix your broken image as others here have already told you. You can click on quote or edit of the post which has image link, visit the image link without img tag, download the image from there, post it on talkimg and host the image from there. On the other hand, you can learn how to fix your broken image from dzungmobile tutorial link for fixing images.

What you know is not what some else knows and I don't see any reason why the OP shouldn't ask any question on where he's having challenges, the rank doesn't signifies if someone knows everything or not. Are you telling me that if a legendary member ask such question on the Forum that you going make such statement? Is so sad that some of us judge what other members don't know base on ranking. Let's try to carry everybody along, we're all here to learn and share knowledge.

I also have such challenges while trying to view some images like in some threads the images are only showing Invalid and I was thinking if is because is an old post that why I couldn't view it, I still find it hard to view some images up till now, maybe the images have a limited time to viewed or something like that.🤔
