1161  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll] A Dead Cat? on: February 21, 2018, 11:07:06 AM
it is hard to tell but all i can say is that if it were really a dead cat  bounce and price were supposed to go lower, then it would have never came above $10k because it was a major resistance which is now a big support line and it would take a lot to go back below it now.

ps: i can't choose any of the 3 options in the poll because i say the first on is not going to happen. but also the second won't either. there is a better chance that we keep seeing this same slow creep upwards instead of shooting up to something like $30k. and it may even last a couple of months or a good part of 2018 even.
1162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending multiple transactions on: February 21, 2018, 10:48:53 AM
Priority

Maximize transaction priority. Select the oldest unspent transaction outputs in your wallet, that are sufficient to cover the spent amount. Then, remove any unneeded inputs, starting with the smallest in value.

this was removed from bitcoin last year. some miners may still honor the priority thing if they choose to but it no longer matters how old your transactions are. they may have  1 confirmation or 500,000 and still be treated the same.

in fact this will be removed in next version of Electrum (v 3.1).
1163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending multiple transactions on: February 21, 2018, 10:43:06 AM
it is impossible to say which one is "preferred" because it depends on a lot of things. your question may be clear but the answer is hard.

for example if each of those txs belong to a different key, spending the 3BTC means only using 1 key. but spending 1+2 means using 2 keys. this may have privacy concerns as it links 2 of your addresses together.

another thing that comes to mind is that spending 1 tx (3BTC) will give you a smaller transaction so you have to pay a smaller fee. this is not much of a concern now but at times where fees are high it may be. (more inputs will give you a bigger transaction).

there is a case where you can pay it without creating a "change". for example if you have a transaction output of 3.00001000BTC and want to make a 3BTC payment. you simply spend this tx and pay 3BTC and the rest (1000 satoshi) goes to miners as fee. compared to using 5.00001000BTC output and paying 3BTC + 1000 satoshi fee + 2BTC change (leftover) the first one is preferable.
1164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 15,000usd at the end of Feb for Bitcoin?? on: February 21, 2018, 10:27:23 AM
well $6000 in my opinion wasn't exactly the bottom because it didn't last long. it was more like a short term push down where price reached a very low level and it actually went to $5k range too. i consider $8k more of the bottom. so you can't really say price has doubled now.

additionally $11k is simply coming back to normal levels after the "push down". because nothing about that drop below $10k was normal. so we are now only $1000 or 10% above the major buy support.
1165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An Unknown Individual Bought 96,000 Bitcoins When Price Was Slump on: February 21, 2018, 10:21:30 AM
it is funny that everyone is repeating this same wrong news but nobody has yet said how is it that this "idividual" is anonymous but the news knows that it is an individual and also knows that he/she has bought bitcoin! LOL
it is kind of contradictory!
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 💰💰 Mark Zuckerberg says Facebook will look into cryptocurrency on: February 20, 2018, 10:17:21 AM
didn't Facebook just ban any kind of cryoptocurrency related advertisement on their platform?!!! and it was any cryptocurrency, i could have understood the banning of ICO related ads since they are already scam but the news was general!

Here's a link to that news. Zuckerberg unlike old billionaire is much more adaptable with changes.
https://www.coindesk.com/zuckerberg-to-study-cryptocurrency-in-quest-to-decentralize-facebook/

Facebook is earning money because it is centralized. if they make it decentralized it is like shooting themselves in the foot and putting an end to their control and money making.
of course you can always make something centralized and call it decentralized just like the way many altcoins do!
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Undervalued Cryptos: "Ripple Effect 2.0" on: February 20, 2018, 10:06:43 AM
We all know about how ripple jumped from $0.006 to $3 in one year... am beginning to think of the long game plan.

it didn't jump that much in one year. it jumped that much in only a couple of months. and the bulk of the pump took place in less than a month when every other altcion was also getting pumped.

Quote
Any advice on the coins/ICOs that are currently undervalued that can repeat what Ripple has done (i'll call it the ripple effect).

Am looking to invest heavily in one of these: TRX, Ethlend & XVG

Which will you vote for, other suggestions can also be made.

Thank you.
i usually don't like saying what coin, so all i can say is that if you are looking for "ripple effect" or whatever you want to call it, then look for that same pattern meaning the same pumping signals that the coin was giving before it was pumped. and then invest in them for the same small amount of time not a long term 1 year thing!
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Officially Legalizes Bitcoin will this make a good correct in btc price? on: February 20, 2018, 10:00:05 AM
Russia is one of those countries that probably will not legalize bitcoin for many years because there are so many conflict of opinions among them apparently!
one day i hear some of them say bitcoin should be legalized and some time later someone else says it should be illegalized!

what u think frds will this will make good correction in btc price

i don't think you know what "correction" means.
1169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Future on: February 20, 2018, 09:42:56 AM
most people are just speaking out of their asses when it comes to speculating about bitcoin future, you shouldn't even be reading what these people say, let alone paying any attention to it.

the fact is bitcoin is rising. from time to time it has some drops and some downtime but every time this happens, there are the same group of people who keep saying bitcoin will continue to fall! the reason i believe is that they want to buy it at lower price so they spread FUD.
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEXT BIG ALTCOINS on: February 18, 2018, 10:11:24 AM
not that many altcoins are good these days. the market is too wild in my opinion with bitcoin drop a lot of money was withdrawan out of the altcoin market.
right now i only see DigixDAO since it has been getting pumped today but it is a little late despite the pump still ongoing.
1171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins' pullback is over! on: February 18, 2018, 10:04:57 AM
Now is definitely a good time to invest if you're in it for the long term. The recovery to the current price should attract a lot of longer term investors who were put off because they thought a recovery might not happen. Of course bitcoin could dip again but similarly it could reach a new ATH soon.

We could not really so sure that the threat of corrections is gone so better if we should not be so confident that this current value rise up is what we have waiting for. There are lot of experts that dip still is in there that by the end of this 1sr Quarter another dip will coming but after that it will rise up again until it will reach ATH of $25K for this year but still i hope that this development that are happening in the world in favor Bitcoin will eliminate the threat.

i don't know about these "experts" but a dip doesn't just happen out of nowhere and without any reasons! for example the recent dip from $20k down to $6kish was because of the bubble then because of the fear of the bubble and all the FUD about bans,... but that is over now! it can't go on every day.
1172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will a legalized bitcoin work or look like on: February 18, 2018, 09:56:47 AM
bitcoin will still work the same whether some country like Bangladesh bans bitcoin or some other country like Japan adopts bitcoin. none of these will change anything about how bitcoin works.

however the only thing that it will change is the adoption rate which will become faster when a country adopts bitcoin like what happened in Japan. now there are lots of shops accepting bitcoin payments over there and have increased their revenue thanks to this and the fact that there are no taxes on bitcoin payments there.
1173  Economy / Economics / Re: How does a Bitcoin have any value? on: February 18, 2018, 09:49:14 AM
Rather, Bitcoin appears to have value for the following reasons: It is popular.

that is just your opinion.

anything has value for its utilities. Gold has value not because it is physical but because it has usages. same as anything else.
bitcoin is a decentralized currency and that is its usage and what's giving it value.
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between Altcoin and Bitcoin? on: February 17, 2018, 02:00:22 PM
isn't it already too obvious?
the name is the definition already! altcoins, alternative coins or in other words alternative coins to bitcoin. anything that is not bit coin is called altcoins.

they are all based on the same technologies more or less. i'd say about 85% to 90% of them are useless junk or pure copycats which shouldn't even be alive. and the rest are interesting ideas that has remained "ideas" so far without any real world applications yet.

at least bitcoin is an actual currency that people actually use. even if it is on a small scale now.
1175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Psychologically- When Bitcoin Goes Up Everybody Thinks It Will Last Forever on: February 17, 2018, 01:46:06 PM
have you ever thought that it is possible that what you hear online is not exactly what "people" think and more like what they advertise publicly?

for example when the price is falling and traders have switched strategy from buying to shorting, they obviously want the price to drop more so they can make more profit. many will start talking about doomsday so that maybe the price goes lower and they make a little bit more profit.
the opposite is true about rises.
how effective this bullshit is, i have no clue but this is what's happening!
1176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any tips or suggestions for those who lost many coins? on: February 17, 2018, 01:38:11 PM
I heard that during that last dip of bitcoin ( 7k$ ) and other alts, many bitcoin investor lost so much because of panic selling thinking that they should cut their losses. Some wants to start over again with the money they got but I heard that some became really depressed and are now emotionally unstable. ( Not all ).

Any suggestion/good tips for them? Also, what we should do to handle these kinds of situations?
I am not currently an investor but I am looking to put some amount for bitcoin and hold it.

well it depends on why they sold and when they sold. selling and losing money is not always bad. you may be selling because of stop loss to prevent an even bigger loss and then buy back at the bottom to get your initial amount back and also cover the loss and finally make your profit back.

if they did that they they did good! but if they didn't they have to start doing that to become more successful in their investment journey.
1177  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Hit $20K in few weeks time? on: February 17, 2018, 01:28:36 PM
before this recovery to back above $10k it was not possible to say how long the recovery and the follow up rise could take because for all we knew it could take a couple of more months of down trend and FUD.

but with this current price rise and with price going back to a very important price level (above a major support) it shows that despite all the drama that we had recently the demand has not gone anywhere yet.
so yes we can expect the rally to begin soon and consequently we will see $20k too and it is not a new price, it was the previous ATH so it won't be as hard.
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why can we not as a community boycott stocks.exchange on: February 16, 2018, 11:43:02 AM
there are even worse exchanges with much more problems out there than this small exchange that nobody even knows about or uses!

there is currently cryptopia which people are reporting some issues with their deposit/withdrawals and some coin issues.
there is the big exchange called bittrex which has been scamming their users for months now.
there is the biggest exchange poloniex which is anything but user friendly and they don't give a shit about their customers.
there is Yobit which has a large volume but it is the shadiest exchange that ever existed.

and lots more.
the problem is we are stuck with bad exchanges all around so we are forced to choose bad instead of worse.
1179  Economy / Speculation / Re: McAfee Speculation Thread on: February 16, 2018, 11:30:08 AM
ever since i saw his couple of tweets which was pretty suspicious and let to pumps of the altcoins he was advertising, i am convinced that he did all that for publicity.

and he made a lot of money from that publicity also. imagine a pump group that is so much bigger than someone unknown idiot on telegram with some sheep following him.

I think he eventually claimed that his account got hacked. I call bullshit, I think he was really pumping these coins himself, got paid big sums of BTC for doing so, then after he was done, to keep his credibility intact, he claimed that he was "hacked". I haven't checked his twitter in a long time because honestly he isn't that knowledgeable in crypto, so I don't know if he's still pumping ICOs and alts left and right. What I do know is, he hangs out with Ver, Jihan, Craig.. the BCash clan, so I wouldn't consider his opinion to be trusted, he is just jumping on the crypto bandwagon for attention, kinda like Kim Dotcom. They are yet to provide real value, a genuine product, or better yet, a Bitcoin BIP of substance, until then, this guy is just a shill with a lot of followers.

he probably got scared or maybe someone gave him a friendly warning so he started looking for an exit strategy to keep face while getting out of it, so he made that dumb claim that his Twitter account was hacked.

as you may know market manipulation (which is basically what he was doing) is a very illegal thing to do in a lot of different jurisdictions.
1180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin:USD ratio is possible? Altcoins will not be affected by Bitcoin Dip on: February 16, 2018, 11:23:38 AM
Is it possible that every Crypto Exchange will be exchanging coins:USD ratio

something that nobody mentioned is that adding fiat means adding regulations and lots of them. it also means they have to deal with banks for fiat deposit and withdrawals and as a result deal with lots of fraud. not all exchanges want to do that. and not all traders are willing to give up their personal information that easily.
