11741  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 27, 2015, 09:54:58 PM
Well I don't really know what to do.

For me I will just save.

There is a lot of scam lately so yeah.

Browse this thread mate. Posted here many times. Investment is not always investing in an investment firm, company, site or whatever. You can invest in other way like business that you think will bloom in your location. Explore all the sides and not focus on those shit companies.

And always make your own research before investing into anything. Ask yourself: Do I need this? Is it really worth to invest? When investing, always keep this in mind: Never invest what you can't afford to lose. For starters, I'd recommend investing in Bitcoin or Gold as it is a safe investment.  Cheesy
11742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2015, 09:48:35 PM
Sha 256 mining, both cloud and home, is definitely not one of them anymore. With this mining diff jumping so much, after people start turning on their miners due to BTC price increases, it s gonna be hard making anything from mining.

Yes. Mining is not good these days, it was better off at the beginning when there were not too many people into this and the difficulty was very low. Now the only ones that could make profit are those big miners that have mining farms. For an average Joe it is very difficult to profit, especially when the halving comes.  Grin
11743  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: November 27, 2015, 09:25:18 PM
I think with in 15-20 years can be replace.

If that happend I think all the banks will shut down.

I don't think that bitcoins can replace Dollars, as Dollars are widely accepted and most trusted currency and people have more faith in dollars as compared to bitcoins, but yes if the adoption of bitcoins reaches to the peak then anything is possible in the future, but at present I don't think bitcoins can replace any major currency.

Exactly. Bitcoin is just going through a lot of issues right now (block size, TPS, etc) and I think that it still needs to be perfected in order to really replace the Dollar. Still, anything is possible and if Bitcoin ever reaches mainstream use, I'm pretty sure it might replace it. Soon fiat currencies would become obsolete and the new generation of money would be crypto currencies. Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes
11744  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: November 27, 2015, 09:03:03 PM
bitcoin wallet. You will earn more interest in a year from value rising than interest in bank Wink

That is totally correct mate! We can see Bitcoin's price go up everyday faster than you can think of! And maybe this is because the halving date is near and thus Bitcoin is increasing in price and demand. Today has been a good day with BTC being worth at $360 per coin. I have increased my earnings faster than I would have done with my bank account  Grin
11745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: November 27, 2015, 07:35:53 PM
It seems that I am fianlly able to get over my personal stuffs, and to get the magi stuffs on the track in the following periods (estimate to be weeks or maybe months). It was tough and this happened back to February of this year. I won't be too honest to talk about what happened, but you know that is something like a life change. I still have to finalize my stuffs and then a concrete plan about magi.

A rough plan, 1) the first thing I believe to look at that is very urgent is the PoW mining we talked; I might be able to look into the things in the middle of Dec. or during the Christmas: basically summarize the PoW / PoS discussion, a plan as to what I am going to do, and pushing actual works out (in Jan. or most likely Feb.). The progress will depend on my timing in real job. I am not saying I do have the solutions as to what happened, but I do have energies to push out solutions, and believe the coin deserves such efforts; 2) I like and would like to push the magi-pi project; 3) We have to push XMG towards sort of business and make it appear to be a role that it should be. I am not guaranteeing what I will be done; I felt this is the turning point of my own situation and thus the above updates.

Thanks to all for your patience and efforts by far.

Glad you are back Joe and ready to push Magi forward to new heights. It is nice to see new stuff happen in the Magi community. It is always active and very friendly. A Coin Magi wallet for the Raspberry Pi would be something great to have. Happy Thanksgiving by the way!  Cheesy
11746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Virtacoin Core CPU Usage on: November 26, 2015, 09:32:34 PM

The wallet is fully synced and there is no mining in process on my laptop. Virtacoin Core wallet is just idle and minimized into system tray, but it takes up 100% CPU load without doing absolutely nothing. I'm running Windows 10 by the way. The CPU is Intel Core i5-3210M Quad Core @ 2.50GHz  Grin

If you may, try figure out exactly what it is doing while using your full processing capacity. Make sure the mining (in the debug window) is set to false. If your quest for the 100% is not satisfied by the answers that you find, just exit the client until you need to transact using virtacoin.

Thanks for your advice, mate! After a bit of research made in Google, I have finally found the solution. It turns out that the wallet was mining in the background after all. I had to go to the appdata directory (in Windows) and inside the Virtacoin folder, you will find the virtacoin.conf file. Edit it with a text editor and where it says gen=1, replace it with gen=0. Then open the VTA wallet, and there you go. Now it takes only 2% of CPU usage.  Cheesy
11747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: November 26, 2015, 09:18:50 PM
Expanse's cheap price is definitely good compared to Ether, now that I am able to test dapps much cheaper than doing so in Ethereum.  Cheesy
Whatta bullshit. Have you ever heard about a testnet?

Of course I do. But I mean the ability of creating dapps and be able to use them or execute them (with gas, in this case EXP) in a cheaper way than I would do with Ether (Ethereum's gas) Even still, I could use testnet but in for other people to execute it with gas (EXP) then the main net is needed for that (or am I wrong?) Don't you think is it good to hold this coin or is it not worth it at all? Just my opinion by the way.  Wink
11748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: November 26, 2015, 07:39:23 PM

By the way, is the LiteDoge developer active or is LDOGE maintained by users of the community?  Huh

If you mean the original "developer" of Litedoge, no, he is not active at all. In fact he abandoned the coin.
Litedoge is maintained by a group of developers / members of the community.
You can contact the dev team in the IRC Channel: https://kiwiirc.com/client/irc.kiwiirc.com/#Litedoge
They love hearing comments, ideas or suggestions

Thanks for the information. It is great to see such a crypto currency to keep moving forward in development and growing in community. I will continue to support LDOGE until the end.  Grin
11749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: November 26, 2015, 07:19:53 PM
Thanks for sharing this useful information. I think I'm going to stake my LiteDoge full time on my Raspberry Pi 2 running 24/7. Also, I would buy a very huge amount of them for staking and see how much I would earn (as they are really cheap right now)  Grin

Oh yeah, that's right.  I was chatting with you in PM a couple months ago correct?  Glad we have a Raspberry Pi build now and you can join the party.  Also, you are correct.  LDOGE is at 1 satoshi and staking rewards are still very lucrative.  If LDOGE can escape it's 1 satoshi rut one day and ultimately become a success, there is no better time to invest than now.

I'm so excited that the Raspberry Pi build is all ready for use. I have been waiting good time for this to happen and now it is finally a dream come true. Right now, I'm over 2 million LDOGE and slowly growing my stash everyday.  Grin

By the way, is the LiteDoge developer active or is LDOGE maintained by users of the community?  Huh
11750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Expanse (EXP) - Fair Launch, No ICO, Community DAO, based on Ethereum on: November 26, 2015, 07:09:29 PM
Dev are working hard and we are patient.

I agree. That is why I'm buying and holding Expanse for long term as it will certainly bring new and exciting features in the near future. Right now, it is the perfect opportunity to buy more at cheap prices because maybe the price would go up once everything else is settled. Expanse's cheap price is definitely good compared to Ether, now that I am able to test dapps much cheaper than doing so in Ethereum.  Cheesy
11751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CSC] ♠ CasinoCoin v1.3 ♥ ♦ 2+ Years Old ♣ on: November 26, 2015, 06:58:12 PM
I can see sell orders. BTW, everyone please consider moving over to alcurex. They have no KYC and we need to build up the book there.

BTW, it looks like the client changes are 99% done. We need to fix a couple missing arrow icons and couple other really minor asthetic items. You guys will get to start playing with it in a day or so.

Great news. It's first major step to show people that You guys are serious and CasinoCoin is heading towards FIAT casinos.
I am loving the new wallet more and more after every new build i make Wink  .... its not only the new UI that is so much better but also all the new and unique features we are building into it. Last thing on my list is the implementation of information on Exchanges that support Casinocoin. The API is already ready, we only need to build the list view renderer.

I think it would be nice to have about 5 testers before we do a public release, .... i will create a windows installer for this release, Linux and OSX will follow later. Sent me a PM if your interested in testing ....

Those are really exciting news. I cannot wait for the new release of the CasinoCoin wallet. New features and UI update will definitely attract more people to get into CSC. I wish the best of all for the CasinoCoin community and Happy Thanksgiving! Cheesy

Thanks for sharing this useful link. Exactly how does staking difficulty work? The more difficultly there is on the network, the less staking reward you will get, or is the reward based on stake weight? Sorry for asking, I'm very familiar with coin staking.  Grin

I find it useful to view things in terms of proportion when it comes to POS, especially POS 2.0.  View things in terms of percentages rather than raw absolute numbers.

The answer to your question is yes, when staking difficulty rises you will get lower rewards.  Not because the block reward of 20,000 changes, but because there is more competition on the network and you represent a smaller percentage of the total coins staking.

There are 1350 blocks mined per day, each rewarding 20,000 LDOGE.  If 100% of all LDOGE is being staked 24/7 and you are staking 1% of all LDOGE, you should expect to hit on average 13.5 blocks per day.  BUT we know not 100% of all coins will ever be staking 24/7.  If only 50% of the total coins are staking every day rather than 100% and you stake your same 1% of coins 24/7, you should expect to get 2% of new blocks or an average of 27 blocks per day.

By counting the number of blocks I mined in the past 24 hours, comparing it to the number of blocks I should expect to mine if 100% of LDOGE were being staked, and doing some quick and dirty math I can roughly estimate that about 63% of all LDOGE was actively staking in the last 24 hours.

So, if you want to get an idea of how many coins you can expect per day, use this formula IF you will be able to stake 24/7.

((Your total # of LDOGE) / (The total # of LDOGE in existence, found by entering 'getinfo' in the console in case you weren't aware)) x 1350 x 20000 x 1.582

The 1.582 represents a multiplier that reflects my rough estimate of 63% of coins actively staking.

Thanks for sharing this useful information. I think I'm going to stake my LiteDoge full time on my Raspberry Pi 2 running 24/7. Also, I would buy a very huge amount of them for staking and see how much I would earn (as they are really cheap right now)  Grin

As of now, the new Ambercoin wallet works perfectly fine on my Windows 10 laptop. I'm syncing the wallet, so it would take me a few hours for me to see my full balance. I'll let you know anything else when it finishes syncing.  Smiley

By the way, would it be possible to get an Ambercoin wallet for Android and iOS as well? It would certainly be great if you would be able to store them and stake them on your mobile device.  Cheesy
11754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: November 25, 2015, 11:23:01 AM
New altcoins may lead into a huge profit and turn into a nightmare to invest, soo advice is avoid the most of new coins, must keep an eye on the oldest as doge, looks it went dowm maybe a good time to make a stock of them ,even being penies now it can get 50% soo into crypto world or anywhere is very good see your investment reach such return, there is others coins as ltc ,eth is high risk, recent news make it crash bad management with a huge potencial.Always research about the coin you wanna to invest at .

That statement is certainly true. But among the large list of all coins, there are only a few that provide innovation. Take a look at NXT or Ethereum. The provide better technology (maybe than Bitcoin) and faster transactions. Even still, Bitcoin will stay in the long term as the king of crypto currencies, but I'm pretty sure that there would be alt coins that will survive in the future. Just my opinion.  Wink

Amazing devs, amazing comunity and amazing coin.

do we have some web wallet for magi?

thanks

Why i never think on it before? thats a good question, we should have a web wallet for Magi.

Great idea man, i think that would be so cool if we can implement it on our current website or somewhere else, but definitely we should have it Wink
Thanks for the nice words. Magi had webwallets on staisybit.com but it looks like that one is offline.
Magi will look into others options for that.

A web based wallet for Coin Magi would be an excellent idea. Also, it would be great to stake coins on the Web wallet itself and be able to lend Magi to gain interest as well. Then, maybe a Magi Debit Card would be released soon...Just got inspired by so many amazing ideas.  Roll Eyes
Received message from Staisybit.com Webwallets and Staking back online. Test it.

https://staisybit.com/

The wallet works perfectly on Chrome browser running in Windows 10. I've also tried it on an Android Tablet and everything works great. I can see my current balance and the cloud staking contracts that I'm currently into. The interface looks awesome and functional. This is pretty awesome.  Cheesy
11756  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: November 24, 2015, 11:31:56 AM
If you have money in a bank they're not yours, you know that. If you have Bitcoins on the Blockchain and you own the keys those are really your Bitcoins.

Example:

try to move, let's say 150000$ (and let's assume you have them) from your bank to anywhere else be prepared to say why you're moving those funds!

Now, try to move 150000BTC: easy, BTC does not care if you move 1 or 1000000!

Your bank does! And, of course, your government...

Exactly. While banks are regulated by the government watching every move on your transactions and imposing limits, with Bitcoin you have freedom to deposit any amount no matter how big or small because there is no central authority. You have complete control of your own money.  Cheesy

Nice one Abiky,

App we have (price ticker)

On Cryptsy too, just as WC not XWC

Thanks for adding your suggestions

Well, Cryptsy is an exchange but what I meant with decentralized marketplace, would be something sort of like ebay, but with no central authority and the ability to buy items with your Whitecoin.  Wink

P.S. The Whitecoin Price Ticker for Android is great, but I would like to see a Whitecoin wallet for it someday in the future. By the way, what is the dev's name here on BCT? Is he or she still active?  Huh

Oizopower is the man working on XWC, he is active but undoubtedly busy. As Oizo himself has stated one of the major issues our coin is facing is a lack of skilled individuals to implement the improvements and plans that are put forward (like yours).

Thanks for the information. Do you think it is safe to buy a millionth Whitecoin by now? I want to help the Whitecoin network, thus I will buy lots of them (since they are dirt cheap) and stake them to support the network. Then, I would think of something to promote XWC and increase awareness.  Grin

Yes an android miner please!  Cheesy

I was thinking the developers might want to
check out smartpoker.info - it is in the early
stage of development, but i don't know anything
about it really.  Except that it is crypto poker lol.
That's something i'am looking a long time for something like that. Because I also like to play poker online! Playing poker with Magi would be awesome!

And maybe then Magi would be accepted anywhere in Physical casinos. I could imagine playing Poker on a real casino and making my bets with Coin Magi. That would be a pretty good idea. Don't you think so?  Roll Eyes
Would be great. Personally I really like to play poker online also. Magi will try to get added on pokerwebsites or maybe somebody could make a pokerwebsite.
The exchange page on www.coinmagi.org is updated. There are more updates in progress!

That is absolutely fantastic. I love the way Magi is heading. Soon it will go to the moon and it would become the most popular crypto currency out there. I'm still looking for a physical Magi coin. If it could be made, I would gladly pay some BTC to have this nice coin for my collection.  Grin
