1181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 03, 2023, 11:55:44 PM
A prediction is a prediction, a very volatile market cannot be relied on just a prediction, and you can't just make an analytical studies on particular market since no one knows what could its price in the next month due to its volatility behaviour. You just have to risk and invest what you can afford to lose when it comes to investment, because it can gain profits and take loses.
At tama nga naman yung sabi nila for applying charges instead na like cease and desist order from different sectors na applied sa binance. Kase pag mangyari yan, buong crypto market ay affected lalo na mga banks, business na nakipag partner sa kanila. I wonder nga if may ganyan na papansin ng SEC or DoJ directly dito sa pinas.
1183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: risk of centralization of bitcoin. on: August 03, 2023, 11:24:29 PM
Mining pools are businesses relying in bitcoin mining rewards. Attacking the network means suicide for the business and they will do harm than good, i mean they will gain more loss than profit — we are talking of millions of dollars here, so no one on their right mind will do that.
1184  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: scammers using Exodus wallet fake email on: August 03, 2023, 11:07:15 AM
It is used as an email backup for recovery purposes. Using a non-custodial open source wallet is the most recommended one. No email required, no need to rely on the company/developers knowledge for recovery/installation, just your secured device for it to install and use.
Do you know this for a fact or is it an educated guess? Exodus is a closed-source wallet but it's non-custodial.
The bold part is my recommendation when using a wallet. I'm not saying it is what exodus is, in fact it's the opposite.

You control your keys, so what kind of sensitive information would they be storing and sending via email for recovery?
I don't know, it is sent to the user's email after creating a wallet, only if the user input an email for the recovery purpose[1]

1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as an inflation hedge on: August 02, 2023, 11:53:31 PM
I see the globally economy being reshaped by this digital asset, bitcoin will do this by being an alternative for traditional currency or by totally replacing local currency
It won't happen anytime soon, stop being delusional about that idea of replacing local currency with bitcoin. Typical government system won't allow it.

What high inflation countries need to store their wealth, is bitcoin, because it is not in anyway controlled by inflation spikes.
In direct way, of course. But it is affected indirectly in many ways, and you will think it is not effected as inflation hedge.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotional Material on: August 02, 2023, 11:29:26 PM
but what sense can it have with bitcoin?
For the sake of promotion/marketing — of bitcoin in two cents, lmao? Nah? It's funny actually, when you read it especially if you invest it, and comes up the realization that you don't have enough bitcoin.
Also, bitcoin ads can only be seen on online platforms, huge city screens, unless its on billboard.
1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 02, 2023, 10:48:30 PM
Responsible gambling always comes to one self — self-diciplined. Any gambling platform can't do about that even they have so many features and programs to avoid it.

Since we are talking online where every click can be monitored casino should have
- can set hours of online, or a maximum limit for every person say 9 hours a day,
- user can set a maximum daily loss
- can set maximum daily bet

- once a user reach one of these limits for such there is a warning note to the user, and will be forced logged out after finishing the  current game its playing later on.

Actually there are lot of this kind of self-exclusions, but like i said its all about discipline, you can bypass everything but its also like lying to yourself, and at the end of the day, you will end up lossing and having a problem once you get addicted.

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.
It's mentioned over and over that discussion such like this should be in the discussion board of gambling regardless if many can see this thread or not due huge posting activity on these boards.
1188  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] Multiple Users Self-Moderating A Thread. on: August 02, 2023, 09:29:49 AM
Never heard/read any suggestion like this before. Yes, it's a bit an issue for an active thread with inactive OP but its rare to have a very active thread actually except in the wall observer thread.
Its case was , theymos change its ownership[1] by voting 56 active users in the thread.
For this case, it could be useful if added but not really necessary imo, but i dont think it will be implemented or only if everyone will agree to have to it.

1189  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: I have cheap electric, wondering if mining is now something that I can do profit on: August 01, 2023, 11:57:32 PM
It is said[1] that $0.05kWh is the average electricity rate for most miners and the recommended one is $0.03kWh. And $0.05 is really cheap, and note that your location is to be considered as well coz mining in a cold places is the best one.

1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 01, 2023, 10:39:12 PM
Sounds like a good dream and a good team, but I only think the winning outcome will be worst. Just like the previous news i read here of joining bet and winning the bet where the other one steal all the pot from the other.
1191  Other / Meta / Re: Too fast/Overloaded (503) on: July 31, 2023, 11:30:26 PM
Never experienced this before, but many has. Just avoid opening multiple threads at once, especially if its more than 10 already. Why you end up opening multiple threads btw
1192  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dgfinex. Scam exchange. Ask you to send 50% of deposit value to withdraw. Avoid on: July 31, 2023, 11:15:08 PM
How did she even found out about them? Was it some "friend" recommending her, or it was Google ads?
I ask myself the same question almost every time I see someone get scammed by something this obvious. Where do they find such bullshit scam sites and not notice anything wrong?
Same here. Sometimes you will wonder how greedy and how newbies' minds work despite of so many red flags there are, the worst case is they will always ask if the site is scam or not after depositing a huge  (although "huge" is debatable depends on the victim's status) money into it.
1193  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panu labanan ang sweeper bots on: July 30, 2023, 11:57:18 PM
Just call it malware kung nag se-send ka from your wallet A to wallet B tapus na send naman ito to other wallet without your actions para gawin 'yon. Ang pag backup ng wallet seeds offline ay recommended practice pero best parin if may AV ang device mo at never installed any random apps sa device mo.
1194  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ano nga ba ang Vishing? on: July 30, 2023, 11:49:05 PM
Through phone calls? Kaya nag papakamalan mong scammers.
1195  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dgfinex. Scam exchange. Ask you to send 50% of deposit value to withdraw. Avoid on: July 30, 2023, 11:39:02 PM
Good find. It really looks like a legit exchange especially in mobile version, but the fact they required deposit via chat is ridiculous, how much more to deposit again just to withdraw someone's holding — a typical scam scheme, yet there are still newbies who get scammed on this kind of scheme, unfortunately
1196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 30, 2023, 04:09:04 PM
I can't believe some people are complaining about the stoppage saying it was too early as if they wanted Crawford to land more powerful blows and end Spence's boxing career hehe. It was the right call since he had nothing left aside from his willingness to fight.
That's a right call (even though i dont like it for the sake of my bet haha), if i recall it was a 6 combo punch with solid punches without a respond from Spence then referee stops the fight.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 30, 2023, 07:22:22 AM
Damn, i'm so busy doing homeworks after watching One Piece episode and forget about watching the live match lmao. I bet Crawford for a decision coz i really think he will win based on his previous fights and the endurance of Spence, the way his style compare to Spence but fortunately and unfortunately, Spence was TKO'ed. Congrats to Bud and those who bet for a KO.

1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RFK Jr Says He Purchased Bitcoin For His Kids on: July 30, 2023, 12:00:05 AM
I reckon that we might be witnessing bitcoin's mainstream acceptance as a collectible.
Yeah, why not, its the same thing, as long it is securely keep, i mean the safely backup its all good. Then redeem it later on after 5-10 years, just like any other investments.
1199  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Popular crypto influencer Pauly accused of Millions of Dollars Fraud. on: July 29, 2023, 11:49:49 PM
What a f*cked up trading chart is that 🤣. Looks like a new listed coin, he should wait until it reaches good ath and let his investors trade first before dumping lmao. This looks really shit and getting sued is well-deserved. I hope investors win and fines will f*ck his life due to his sc*mbag decisions.
1200  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Had 165k ETH stolen last night. on: July 29, 2023, 11:38:42 PM
Well, at least reply for what people has asked to offer you some help.

After searching the address in google, i found this reddit thread[1], OP is much more active there responding every reply, only if the OP here is the same person on that reddit thread.
