1181  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First bull run - how to not sell too early? on: December 29, 2023, 11:45:36 PM
As an investor the you have to work with good information with fact and confirmations, don't believe hear say, in Bitcoin investment, your decision matters too, don't depend on advise from either friends or articles online, just know that most if those can be deceitful, make sure you have a good plan before taking your decision to invest in bitcoin, is only an investors without focus that will be a pushover when it comes to decision taking, sincerely speaking, selling during the first bull run is your is your personally thing but if am permitted to advise anyone intellect to this, I will say that's premature selling because the price might appreciate a bit, you may regret such act if this happens.
Be careful of your friends too.

When we're in a bull run and they've missed buying on the dip. And they are the type of people that don't want to see others happy with their gains, they are for sure going to say that just sell so that all of you have no longer any holdings.

That's what they want to have and just to make sure that you're on the right track. Set yourself a plan that you'll follow on this season and never agree to anyone quickly if they suggest some tips.

1183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: December 29, 2023, 07:45:12 PM
It's actually a gamble if you have no idea with what you do. But let's take it with the risk that futures has and you can just conclude that it's a gamble on its own.

How he lost money?

It's because someone who has no idea of what he does there shouldn't go into futures and the more idle you are there or just holds there, it's not an ideal place to do so because you'll just lose mone if you do so.

1185  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 29, 2023, 11:35:51 AM
yes, that's true, because many people use gambling as a shortcut to becoming rich
Why it is a common thought that gamblers are there to have fun and to make profit. But when someone goes to this point of thinking that he can be rich with gambling.

I mean that there's a chance but it's the slightest that one can think of and it's like the lottery's only the way for reaching this goal.

And if there are gamblers that have this goal or have this belief that it's the one that shall get them out of poverty, it's best to rethink.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your facts: Fundamental differences between Bitcoin and Ethereum on: December 29, 2023, 10:16:11 AM
And with the current situation of the network of Bitcoin now, there are suggestions that Bitcoin should transition the same as Ethereum from PoS to PoW.

No thanks.

It's not all about the current fees that we have although it's actually a serious matter now. But if we are to choose, definitely we will choose to maintain its security.
1187  Other / Off-topic / Re: Random thought on: December 29, 2023, 08:59:19 AM
I think it's rare to see someone who's an atheist but does believe in heaven and hell. Anyway, there is this quote that I've read before about working to live and living to work.

Those two are different things and we need to distinguish if we're doing the other or the other and what's the right one.

And the people who are saying that life is too short to complain and rant, I agree with them. We've got short life to live and whatever you're happy doing as long as you're not stomping others, that's what matters to each one of us.
1188  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: December 28, 2023, 11:43:37 PM
It depends on a country where you at but this is a very inevitable adoption that most countries will do. As long as where the world is heading, most of the countries have to adapt from the situation.

But I think that there will still be countries that are dominant with diesel cars that shall retain the supply of their cars and will still keep up with it because there's a market of it on their country.

We will see on how these changes will take effect when majority of the rich countries are already into EVs.

There is room for improvement with internal combustion and E Vs yet. Car companies get turbo charging wrong. Old airplanes did it right with the turbo adding momentum to the flywheel instead of sending extra air pressure through the engine. Energy going to the flywheel or a generator (for hybrids, to charge a battery pack) from the turbo can be more efficient because the compression ratio of the engine can be the same as a NA engine, which is higher. Other areas for improvement would be converting waste heat into electricity or motive force. We've come this far with internal combustion engines. Why throw away all that effort?

Anyways, people are missing out on a true breakthrough for diesel engines. I estimate it would save the world over a hundred trillion dollars in fuel costs per year! I'm here if anyone needs help on building the device? Just ask nicely...
Oh the technicals, I need to learn more about them but what you are saying is giving me a little bit of idea on what's the correct one that should be done by the manufacturers themselves.

I think that they're just relying to the demand about EVs and the petrol diesel cars and that's why some manufacturers are transitioning from diesels to EVs because that's what they think is in demand.
1189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: December 28, 2023, 11:06:34 PM
The effect of it doesn't need some experiment or what not for them to realize that they're on the wrong side having that emotion.

The learning will be there and just as what we're saying that gamblers shouldn't be greedy because that's one of the worst enemies that we can have and won't let us proceed any longer as we gamble.

But if they want to try and see where they're heading with that emotion, everyone is free to go and choose their own paths.

Yes, but sometimes there are some people who find it difficult to believe in something if they don't experience it or don't find the answer themselves, and I think it really happens when someone is difficult to advise and they can really realize when they have experienced it themselves, and it might be said that experimentation is also needed according to  stubborn people like them. But on the other hand, of course, the better option is to act early and consider some advice from others who have already experienced it.

Basically, the idea of greed in  general can actually be concluded as one of the actions that is not recommended or should not be done, none other than because most people already agree that it will only make things worse and there is already a lot of real evidence that should be taken into consideration. On the other hand if they are so stubborn then obviously maybe we can only let it go because after all at least we have told them from the start and the rest is up to them.
When they are having hard time to believe on it. The one very solution for them is to let them do it and experience it.

With that, that's going to give them the idea that they shouldn't let their greediness control them. We have been telling it for so many times and only those that realize it will be able to control it.

And those that are still having hard time and difficulties in realizing it, they may learn it as well but with their actual experiences.
1190  Economy / Gambling / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 28, 2023, 10:30:08 PM
And when you are responsible, you don't gamble when you don't have money. Why is that? Because someone will still gamble despite having no money and will do things to get money like selling his important stuff or will take a loan.

That's not being responsible and that's why when you have no money to gamble, better be quiet and just be contented that you shouldn't gamble at all by that day.
Greediness is what normally kills in gambling. Most gambler are greedy and will want to make big money from gambling. Gambling by selling his important stuff or will take a loan is a very bad decision. I have lost a winning ticket recently because I don't have money to place the brt that week. One should learn how to gamble only from excess money. Your gamble shouldn't affect your home or your family.
Everyone wants to make big money in gambling and that's why that greediness is just part of us naturally. But when you're able to determine that it is not going to give you good results.

You'll control that and whenever you're feeling it, you are going to start act and do something about it for you not to trigger it as you gamble. Because having that while you gamble is a dangerous thing.

Because you have no idea on yourself on how high you can go and how frustrated you will be if you do so.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 28, 2023, 09:57:43 PM
Take good opinions that will help you to grow and understand more of this market. But always remember that opinions should remain opinions and not as a financial advise.

That's where people are being wrong with taking those opinions that are not good to them. They think that a popular person's saying is always right but it's not.

You're all grown up to realize what suits you and what will not. You have your own decision to make and can take advises or just simply ignore them if they are not useful.
1192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 28, 2023, 09:31:17 PM
I don't know like 70%-80% for Bitcoin.

That's already a lot. As much as I want to convert some into cash to have some free money floating on me, I just don't want to see its value go down because of inflation.
This percentage is already very good. Because this means actually focusing more on Bitcoin and a small percentage on altcoins. Because after all, Bitcoin is the main purpose of investing in cryptocurrency. And it cannot be denied that in my opinion this is the lowest risk.
I see people happy taking profits with altcoins but I am not jealous at all. And that's good for them.

But for me, I know that the time will come that all of these waiting time will be worth it and it's going to be more than those people that have been boasting their profits through altcoin.

But unfortunately, I personally still haven't been able to reach that percentage. only about 50:50. So we really need to struggle again to get more Bitcoin while the price has started to rise again significantly.
That's okay.

As long as the important thing is you already have it and you just need to keep on accumulating.
1193  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: December 28, 2023, 08:53:24 PM
Hi guys!
Just wanted to know how many cryptocurrencies you're invested in? And with what percentage of your portfolio (No need to mention the amounts involved, if you don't want to). Just want to get a general sense of how everyone's diversifying their crypto assets.
I don't know like 70%-80% for Bitcoin.

That's already a lot. As much as I want to convert some into cash to have some free money floating on me, I just don't want to see its value go down because of inflation.

Those that still don't have Bitcoin, you will understand why everyone is talking about the importance for having it on your portfolios.
1194  Other / Off-topic / Re: Want more BTC? Why not just stop drinking booze! on: December 28, 2023, 08:28:02 PM
This can be related to the vices that people have. If you're into drinking, drugs, smoking, a compulsive buyer and all of those sort stuff that makes you spend a lot of money for those things that are not really needed.

And those things are just your wants and not needs.

That's gonna save you a lot of money and money saved from that can be spent into buying bitcoin. You become an investor and you'll get some profits in the future but just don't use it again for that purpose.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 28, 2023, 07:57:27 PM
~snip~

I have been told by coworkers who have had more jobs than I have, they there is actually possible to find some jobs with bosses who would personally never care what one is doing during lunch time or even during working hours, as long as some schedule to finish the work/project is respected. I was told by one of them that their previous boss even allowed him to go home earlier if they wanted and take some days off, the only condition was to have all their work done by the day they all had previously set up.

While some bosses would certainly believe that gambling is a lack of respect to the office, the organization and even a lack of respect to coworkers, it is not impossible to find some position where one could engage in occasional gambling and get away with it.
Unless someone has that privilege, I would never advice someone to gamble at their workplace, because what you say is pretty true, one can lose the job in a blink if caught.
I think that I have heard that condition because it does makes sense to send them home when they're done with their task for the day.

It's just going to consume them time and electricity if they will not send them home when they're done with what they should do. These type of bosses know how to give them importance.

While those bosses that sees it as a disrespect when someone gambles on their offices, it is right. These workers should just go home if they go to work to gamble.
1196  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think of Tech, has anyone studied at Tech? on: December 28, 2023, 07:28:43 PM
For those who wants to learn about cryptocurrencies. What are you up to? Trading or just wanna learn its technicalities?

Actually both of it can be found here and you just need to allot time in learning from here. Experts from both ends are willing to teach people that want to learn from them here.

I know it's kinda of a shortcut when you try to learn from online universities or actual but you can learn more from here.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 27, 2023, 11:46:47 PM
You still run the risk of losing your job because you are poor at time management and even include up your gambling habit.
Those that are doing it and don't have respect for their company, will definitely be caught someday. It may not now or next year but it's going to be their conscience that will catch them.

Therefore, it is preferable to avoid gambling and instead find a way to manage your stress at work without having an impact on it.
Or just simply gamble not in your work and do it at home and somewhere else where it is allowed or you're in a private area.
1198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What will be your trading strategy for crypto in 2024? on: December 27, 2023, 11:21:52 PM
I'm done with the promising projects.

It's better to just stay with Bitcoin and if you want to diversify, get into real other assets like real estate, land properties, etcs. Be wise when you're going to diversify. It doesn't have to be into several altcoins.

But consider also those assets that are appreciating over the period of time. Many altcoins are good today but stability is what they lack of and they have uncertain future.
Same here, whenever i try to invest in promising projects things doesn’t go so well, i guess i am not so lucky with alts but probably because i have not witnessed a bull run before. I told myself i am done with alts for some time now and i have channeled my energy into investing in bitcoin now as these alts have no stability.

I also prefer to hold bitcoin rather than diversifying my portfolio and investing in so called promising projects that will only last for a few years or probably not last that long. We have seen how alts behave and how some of them become dead projects over time, it shows they can’t be compared to bitcoin because their future is not certain so it’s wiser to hold bitcoin.

What i dislike more about alts is the fact that it is difficult to determine legitimate projects and one without the knowledge to identify scam is always prone to invest in scam tokens especially as bull run approaches. One needs to be cautious investing in alts.
Both of us are unfortunate with them.

But the good thing is that we're directed to simply focus with Bitcoin. There's no magical strategies that we need to go through but just investing in Bitcoin is already satisfying.

Can still test some projects that we think we're okay to throw some couple of bucks but it's just like good money that's gone forever.
1199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk vs. YouTube from an educational viewpoint on: December 27, 2023, 10:46:26 PM
Both are good resources for someone who wants to learn Bitcoin. IMHO, there's no need for any comparison on it. As long as a material or a website is helpful in educating people the topics that we want to learn, they're good.

Bitcointalk, YouTube and even Google, they're all part of everyone's resource and we're learning from all of them.

As long as put into good use, these platforms truly have vast information that one can learn with as long as that person is willing to learn and is patient.
1200  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto World And What It Require on: December 27, 2023, 10:13:32 PM
Every day is an opportunity for one to specifically understand that to continue in the crypto world and grow in it...that time is required. One might think that  kicking off from being a  new babe or any other rank is a day job. Time as shown that effort, persistence and consistency is required. Most time you have to lose but when the gains comes it's does abundantly. Crypto world is there best because with it you grow and become smart in what you do in the real wall.
I am not smart but I get what you're saying. You get smart by doing decisions that are appropriate to your holdings on this market.

It makes your mind sharper but sometimes losses that sharpness. Every single thing that we do here or decision is crucial because you'll never know what's next on it.

But with the common and reputable choices like Bitcoin, we know where it is heading and if you're an early adopter and long term holder, you're the smartest.  Grin
