1201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Former SEC Chair Says Bitcoin ETF Should be Approved on: July 11, 2023, 01:03:58 AM
It was a mistake for me to dismiss when someone created a thread about BlackRock's ETF filing. I thought it was the mainstream news media running out of stories about crypto. It was really BlackRock starting the real ETF storyline hehehe. Did anyone also notice Forbes magazine has suddenly become supportive for bitcoin?

In any case, it will begin with 1 ETF approval then it will be a cascade of other approvals. Slowly then suddenly hehehe. I speculate that we might witness one of the biggest pumps on bitcoin once BlackRock and the other institutional investment funds twap into bitcoin.

In a recent interview with CNBC, former SEC chair Jay Clayton said a Bitcoin ETF approval would be “hard to resist.” Moreover, Clayton shared his perspective on how far the digital asset industry has come, and why developing regulatory standing would make an approval favorable.

In recent weeks, a host of traditional financial institutions have come forward with Spot Bitcoin ETF filings. Among those are asset management behemoths like BlackRock and Fidelity, which each submitted their proposals within the last month. Now, the industry awaits the SEC’s decision on what would be their first approval of the like.

1202  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: July 10, 2023, 02:57:03 AM
@Willowbitcoin. I want to ask, if it is okay for you, what are your transactions with the stake.com like? Do you move more than $5k in and out of the sportsbook more actively than normal or do you store much of your coins and only withdraw your profit?

I recommended stake.com to someone and he immediately made a big deposit. He was my boss before actually. I am worried for him and now also for me hehehehe.

I deposited about $500-750 and grinded to 6k. Never made a single withdrawal.

Also, were you in a prohibited jurisdiction when you were working overseas? It is very important to know, however, you do not need to answer the question if you think it will incriminate the account while your case is still open with stake.com. It might also be the real source of the problem if you were.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 09, 2023, 07:20:24 AM
I speculate that America will be in the Forbes list of top 10 most friendly countries for bitcoin while Blackrock is applying for their spot ETF hehehehe.
Tbh, that’d be a big lie. America is on my personal list somewhere at the bottom of friendliness. Mandatory KYC everywhere, tax forms are a huge pain, no ATMs where you can buy without ID.. it’s really bad.

Agreed. It will only be another storyline created for the purpose of collective brainwashing and it should be expected hehehe. Blackrock owns shares of many mainstream news media companies in America and it would not be shocking if they also own shares of the company that has corporate control on Forbes magazine.

These people are our owners. They control the companies of almost everything we use and buy in our daily lives. What we wear, what we eat, where we work, much of everything.
1204  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance to suspend GBP deposits/withdrawal on: July 09, 2023, 06:02:23 AM
@LeGaulois. CZ in America? I am sorry but I disagree. CZ does not have any power in America. This is why he is being sued by the SEC. Also, lobbying? It appears that you do not understand. I am talking about the deep state, the corporate billionaires, the kings of tradional finance, the groups of people who control much of the wealth. If you think this only a conspiracy theory, I will not argue.

In any case, I know we can agree that too much corporate power is the biggest enemy of democracy and it is presently happening in many countries.
1205  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: July 08, 2023, 09:32:16 AM
@o_e_l_e_o. I have also been seeing those type of comparisons in social media recently. Maybe 1 month ago if someone asked me if uncle Gary would be successful in taking down Binance, I would certainly answer no. Presently if asked the same question, I would be shocked if CZ gets out of this difficult situation without a fine.

However, if he is only fined and allowed to continue to operate Binance, I would consider this a victory. Pump bitcoin to $40k quickly!
1206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Country rankings in "Bitcoin friendliness" on: July 08, 2023, 08:49:00 AM
I know lots of online magazines like Forbes sometimes do lists of "ten Bitcoin-friendly countries". But these sort of articles are usually just fluff (like "ten countries it is easy to retire to" and from experience I know their "lists" are rubbish).

I speculate that America will be in the Forbes list of top 10 most friendly countries for bitcoin while Blackrock is applying for their spot ETF hehehehe.

Read this article. After years of fud and years of publishing false news that clearly implies that bitcoin mining is destroying the environment, Forbes has become instantly more supportive. Head scratching update from Forbes hehe.

Bitcoin, often criticized for its energy consumption, actually uses less energy than many traditional industries. With an annual consumption of 129.45 TWh, it accounts for only 0.078% of global energy use. In comparison, the gold industry consumes around 240.61 TWh annually, factoring in emissions from various stages of production and refining. The traditional banking system, encompassing data centers, branches, ATMs, and card network data centers, uses even more energy, estimated at around 638.88 TWh annually.

When we delve into the emission intensity (g/kWh) of bitcoin and compare it with other industries, it becomes clear that bitcoin, with an emission intensity of 296 g/kWh and a sustainable energy mix of 52.6%, is more environmentally efficient than many other sectors.

The gold industry, which relies on a combination of non-electrical and electrical power sources, has an even higher emission intensity of 679g/kWh and a sustainable energy mix of a mere 12.8%, according to Goldmoney.com. These figures underscore the critical role of the energy mix in determining the environmental impact, and they position bitcoin in a more favorable light when considering emission intensity.

1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: July 08, 2023, 08:07:48 AM
@zasad. I am quite shocked that the Multichain bridge was hacked 3 times. The second hack should have been very concerning already, I reckon. After this third hack, I shake my head. Everyone should start being skeptical about the developers and investigate. I also heard some stories that Multichain's CEO was arrested in China on May.

In any case, this is a list of all hacked DeFi bridges. It might be good to add for your list.

@stompix. It is not a conspiracy theory. Unless you live under a rock, you will know the reality that big corporations have always maintained great influence over the government and the people behind it. The outcome of this is our good politicians are ordered to create policies that put corporate interests first before public interests.

If you do not want to believe it, I will not argue with you.

1210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 07, 2023, 02:58:16 AM
The fight is going to be on July 29!!! Only 22 days more before we witness who becomes the king of the welterweight division hehehe! We also have another superfight with Fulton vs. Inoue. This month is good to be a fan of boxing.

Also in an interview, Shawn Porter said that Spence has a huge advantage over Crawford in punch output. However, my question for boxing experts of the forum. Will this he enough to win the fight?

Shawn Porter says Errol Spence will have a huge advantage over Terence Crawford with his physical presence and his high punch output on July 29th.

While Porter does rate WBO welterweight champion Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs), he’s incapable of matching IBW, WBA & WBC champ Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) with his volume punching.

Crawford has been a pot-shot fighter his entire fifteen-year professional career, and he’s not going to change now at 36 years old.

Source https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/07/shawn-porter-says-errol-spence-has-huge-advantage-over-terence-crawford/

Much of the predictions were for Crawford before this month. However, presently there are new storylines that are being argued for Spence. The skeptical me is beginning to think that this might be manipulated to end on a draw and give the promoters another chance to collect more money from a part 2.
1211  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK Crypto, Stablecoin Rules Receive Royal Assent, Passing Into Law on: July 07, 2023, 02:27:24 AM
I'm elated to see that there are things that would help improve the cryptocurrency laws and regulations, it's better to have that to prevent possible cruel things to happen to different investors especially the individuals.

There's always going to be downsides to something but I think it's better to have these rules being passed than none. It's just really hard to balance.

I would agree if I trusted our rulers to do what is right for the people, however, many people in the government and I would dare say much of them are corrupted. This is not because they are bad people, but because the system forces them to be corrupt. This is necessary for them to move forward with their careers, this is necessary for survival against other corrupt politicians. This is reality.

It is very much similar to the saying if you can't beat them, join them.
1212  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: UK Crypto, Stablecoin Rules Receive Royal Assent, Passing Into Law on: July 07, 2023, 01:41:25 AM

Thank you for signing it into law King Charles.
Why did you add a picture of King Charles, the step he took purely procedurally to make the bill into law, which is the last step in the drafting of laws, and he had no role in the law or was written at his behest. According to the statement, the law “gives us control of our financial services rulebook,” and it includes many regulations, some of which are specific to cryptocurrencies, and is not a separate law.

Lol, I guess you really don't know the OP yet, he is known posting pictures like that, for sarcasm,  Grin

Hehehehe! I want to make my threads funny and entertaining for the readers. The purpose of the picture was to make everyone think that King Charles said look the law was signed through these hands. However, look at those hands. They are strange looking. There are memes on the internet that replace them with sausages hehe.

you can read it here https://www.gov.uk/government/news/rocket-boost-for-uk-economy-as-financial-services-and-markets-bill-receives-royal-assent
There is one paragraph related to cryptocurrency and it says:

Quote
enables the regulation of cryptoassets to support their safe adoption in the UK
Therefore, the regulatory plans to accept it safely on the citizens, which means that more legal tightening will be present.

Of course, if it came from government, then regulations are legal tightening will be present. And sometimes we really have to ask questions whether they are really doing it for crypto enthusiast, or there are things that we really need to understand from behind that this passing of the law could really just be a front to watch everyone.

https://technext24.com/2023/03/15/uk-set-to-tax-crypto-gains/
This is old news, but after the adoption of the law, you will need to declare your cryptocurrency.
And those citizens who do not fill out declarations after that will be considered criminals and their cryptocurrencies can be seized by court order. Most crypto enthusiasts will not be happy with such legal regulations.

Every law created is giving more power to our owners to control us and what we do.
1213  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: July 07, 2023, 12:31:25 AM
@Z-tight. It appears the panic is slowly coming among people who really know what is happening. According to Fortune magazine, Binance's senior executives quit after CZ's response to the DOJ's investigation.

I want to know what was CZ's response and why this caused the most important people in charge of compliance to leave. The article is not very clear on this. Are they implying that CZ does not listen to the advice of his executives anymore?

In any case, are we witnessing FTX collapse 2.0?

Fortune has learned that senior figures, including general counsel Hon Ng, chief strategy officer Patrick Hillmann, and SVP for compliance Steven Christie, told Zhao this week they are leaving the company. Their departure follows the recent exit of Matthew Price, a former IRS agent whom Binance hired in 2021 to oversee global investigations and intelligence.

The decision by the executives to quit the company represents a management and strategic crisis for Binance at a time when it is navigating immense regulatory pressure. The situation is also likely to increase that pressure given that the departures are from legal and compliance units that deal most directly with regulators.

Binance did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the departures.

1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 06, 2023, 04:21:21 AM
Canelo vs. Charlo is similar to an altcoin ICO. Hype it then take the money. Fans go home shaking their heads after watching an ordinary fight hehe.

Hahaha, very true. We have seen how Canelo performed against Ryder which many thought that he would demolish the latter as a bounce-back performance after that loss to Bivol but that doesn't happen and we didn't see that extraordinary effort on Canelo's side so this time around I don't expect Canelo would be extraordinary. It would be better for his promoters to realize this so they will give the fans what they really wanted, a fight with Bivol or Benavidez.

We might only witness Canelo's best against opponents like Bivol or Benavidez. These are other opponents are only accepted by Canelo to warm his body and to make his money.

On Canelo's future, he might make one more offer for Bivol, if he does not accept, I speculate Canelo will try to negotiate a big money fight with Benavidez then retire.

Bitcoin will not dump to under $30k.

Also, what was Samsung Mao implying by saying this?

Blackrock might be very near on getting an SEC approval for their spot ETF. There are people I argue with in the forum who say that there is no difference between the approval of a futures ETF and a spot ETF. To this a shake my head and ask how does the futures market track the price of bitcoin futures contracts?

If Blackrock gets a spot ETF approval we will witness billion dollar twaps very much similar to CZ's $1 billion twap that caused the pump of March 12.

In an interview on FOX Business, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink calls crypto “digital gold,” and labels Bitcoin (BTC) a digital asset.

“I do believe that the role of crypto is digitalizing gold in many ways,” he says. “Instead of investing in gold as a hedge against inflation (and) a hedge against the onerous problems of any one country, or the devaluation of your currency of whatever country you’re in, Bitcoin is an international asset.”

In saying that BTC is an international asset, BlackRock CEO Fink explains that it can be used as an alternative asset to gold.

1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: July 06, 2023, 02:18:31 AM
The machinery created to spread black propaganda against the Democrats are working hard again. This consiracy theory about Hillary Clinton and her aide has recently been becoming more visible in social media.

✂✂✂

I haven't heard anything about this recent scandal. But at the same time, the mainstream media went crazy about the allegations made by Stormy Daniels. Whatever happened between Trump and Daniels was purely consensual, and even then Trump was demonized for that. On the other hand, photos and videos showing Hunter Biden involved in serious criminal behavior was leaked sometime back and the mainstream media never covered this story. And you still want to believe that the media is biased against Joe Biden and favoring Trump?

Actually, it is not a new thing. It is a rumor which is very common among those in the far right, about a very disturbing video featuring Hillary and other people close to her mutilating and drinking the blood out of a child. You know, the typical satanic ritual which was filmed for some reason.

Though, I must admit that even though that rumor is crazy. I cannot deny that Hillary gives bad vibes and the leaked emails she exchanges with other people are quite disturbing on their own... Have you read them?

The rumors also say that the elite's drug of choice is adrenochrome which can be taken by drinking the blood of a terrorized victim. They prefer innocent children and teenagers because the adrenochrome is more potent.

Also, can you share the source of the leaked emails? It might make the readers of the thread to bet for a Republican hehehehehe.

I know, it is a urban legend. I think it comes from a movie or something.
If you are interested on those emails sent and received by Hillary you can find them on wikileaks and similar webpages. Those emails in particular are quite disturbing because Hillary and whoever she is talking to, used references to ancient gods and deities from Israel. Also many code words which do not make sense for an outsider.

Actually, it would not be strange if some people actually voted Republican after reading those emails, indeed.

Those emails might be a kind of secret code only known by the sender and the receiver of the emails. This is head scratching because we have encryption technology already available that lets us sign, encrypt and decrypt emails. Hillary Clinton's weirdness would not have been exposed. hehee.

I will browse wikileaks later but is it safe? If I have not logged in bitcointalk for days, assume the government got me.
1217  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: July 06, 2023, 02:09:10 AM
@avp2306. The most common utility of many casino tokens is profit sharing with the holders. This functions very much similar to a traditional company that issues stock and stockholders get dividends for owning them.

It also functions very much similar to providing the cashflow for the site through casino bankrolls. Does anyone remember them? They were very popular before the invention of tokenization and DeFi. However, tokens have an advantage because it gives the business the funds and also gives the investor the liquidity to do what he likes with the token. The advantage of DeFi tokens is you can stake or lend them to another protocol to earn more yields.

In any case, there is nothing wrong with tokenization if the project founders are honest and good to their community.
To be honest, I am not an expert in all this, I am a more mundane person, but even I understand that casino tokenization is not needed at all because of technology. I am familiar with some casinos that have partnerships with Blockchain platforms such as Ancr, and as far as I can tell, all this turmoil is needed only in order to be able to link two logos on an advertising banner.

Although I used to imagine it as something unique .... something along the lines of - if neither of the parties involved has the option to cancel the bet (Casino/Users), or reduce the odds after accepting the bet, then success is guaranteed.

I reckon it would be something very similar to casinos that let users invest in the casino's bankroll for a certain percentage of the profits. But with tokenization, it is more indirect and the casino owners could use the money not only for the casino's bankroll but also for maintenance and improvement. It gives them a budget to continue operating for months while waiting for the cashflow to come.

In exchange, token holders get a share of the casino's profit through yields if the tokens are staked, functioning like DeFi protocols. However, be careful because the casino might be Genslered hehehe.
1218  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: July 06, 2023, 01:07:35 AM
If Binance goes down, what if Justin Sun enters with his billions and buy Binance then become the new king of the cryptospace?
Lol chances of that happening ( Sun buying out Binance and becoming "king of cryptospace") are slim to none. I am sure that he would use that hypotethical situation to promote hismelf future (as he usually do) but I don't think that he has that amount of money.

Agreed that chances for it are small, however, I would not say it is slim. It might be moderately higher than estimated.

On Justin Sun's money, I have always speculated that he has backers from China who Justin might be laundering money for through his different projects and exchanges in the cryptospace. Binance could be an important piece in their operation because much of the cryptospace's inflows and outflows of cash and coins pass through it.

Also, Justin and CZ are friends and it would not be shocking if they are supported by the same Chinese backers.
1219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: July 05, 2023, 05:28:29 AM

In the bearish season there's nothing we can do, especially for the NFT market, even now NFT is still not very popular anymore,
even some of the top NFT coins are still at the bottom price and haven't recovered yet, but don't be sad,
because this is a good thing for those who haven't bought NFT yet, because at this time buying NFT is really worth holding on to.

Agreed, however, it appears that the bear market for NFTs might be worse than the bear market for altcoins. There are also no assurances for a quick recovery because in altcoins and defi tokens, there are institutional investors who might find an argument to invest in them during a favorable market. But on NFTs, who will be the buyers? Each other?
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 05, 2023, 04:46:39 AM
Remember that Canelo didn't have a good performance against John Ryder in Mexico. And there are a lot of boxing fans who are somewhat disappointed with his performance as he is expected to win by a knockout. And maybe he was really affected by his hand injuries. So he need to pick a fighter that he has a good chance to beat without damaging his legacy.

And maybe after this it will be Benavidez as it is reported that his deal with Al Haymon includes a fight with David.
I don't think Canelo's performance was bad against John Ryder, Canelo's performance is still good but Ryder is a true warrior since his nose was broke and he still able to continue the fight until the last round. But it's true Canelo is looking to fight with an opponent that wouldn't able to beat him, Jermall Charlo is one of the example.

The possibility Charlo to beat Canelo is pretty low, I'm more interested to watch Canelo vs Benavidez.

I very much agree. It appears for this fight Canelo only wants to collect money before his next real challenge which will be another round of negotiations for a rematch vs. Bivol. I speculate that he also does not want to fight Benavidez because it is risky and Canelo will lose his opportunity for Bivol if he is not the champion.

Canelo vs. Charlo is similar to an altcoin ICO. Hype it then take the money. Fans go home shaking their heads after watching an ordinary fight hehe.
