and it was the best time trust me... I guess not only in Sweden but in many other places too this was the common routine... 6pm and everything is closed except for some restaurants or petrol stations. So by default in evening you will be home and now you will have no choice but to spend rest of the evening with your family and loved ones. That was pre-internet, now even if you are at home and sitting in the same place but every one disconnected from each other and glued to their cellphones no idea of surrounding whos sitting and what they talking about.

Actually, I would spend that time with my friends, we would sit in somebodys room or basement and listen to records or watch a movie or just talk. Or if the weather permitted, we would just hang out ouside.
Not unlike "that 70s show" actually, one of the reasons I liked that show so much is that it reminded me a lot of my youth.

[pre internet when everything was closed after after hours and and sundays]

back in my youth (waaaay before the net) sitting around the house was a very last ditch thing, we were too busy outside in most any weather wrecking cars and breaking dirt bikes and snowmobiles (and the occasional bone), falling off things like trees and anything else we could climb plus making acquaintances with the local police (disturbing the peace, driving to endanger and such.. nothing major).

good times. except for the pain and recoveries from the injuries but hey that was part of growing up.

A short bitcoin success story:

I just submitted my last time sheet.  Officially Retired at age 50.

Mined my first coin in 2011....

Sold enough and diversified so that I can ride out the next crash (and buy the dip of course).

HODLing a even more ...

and coming to realize, we are in fact, gentleman.

Regards all....

Sigg.

nice! its a good feeling.

edit: im another 2011 miner that retired early.

It's not just about proudhon, guys. It's GANDALF the wizard himself that says so! We're all doomed. Cornz is going to zero soon. Should I say, weeeeee?

But... but... I don't mean to offend Gandalf, but my calculations says something else.

I have crunched the numbers, I promise!

God if I'm wrong... Maybe marcus_of_augustus can confirm with his equation?

run the numbers through this guy as a check:

wtf. I bought fNTF for 1000 bitcoin and they are all gone! such a scam.

My trading practices were so flawed and financially devastating that I'm glad it disappeared.  I should have read the instructions before wading in.

i had bought one of your fNFTs, i wasnt going to sell that one no matter what.

had a JJG-I too. not sure why.
1226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 02, 2021, 02:59:56 PM
Good morning NFT buffs WOers!

fNFTs were cute, but I wasn't so much into it. There's no fun in being given 1000 BTC for free, just like that. And who wants MySQL-settled NFTs anyways? I want dee blockchainz!

I found that to be a kind of fun little game, even though it did end up teaching about shitcoin dynamics for those who tried to watch it or participated in order to attempt to get a feeling for it.

I am thinking that with this particular game, it would have been nice to let it ride for week.. like a April fools week  - because 24 hours can surely fly by quickly, and some members did not even realize what was going on and maybe some other members did not try their hand/luck at some of the attempt to trade matters.

it was fun. kinda wished it had gone longer too. in just 24 hours of going live there was some real horse trading going on. scalper bots. pump and dumps. ripoffs. etc.

but what a time sink it was. lol. so in that way glad it ended..

wtf. I bought fNTF for 1000 bitcoin and they are all gone! such a scam.

I sold all of mine for 9000 btc and I am now missing 9000 btc damn!

chain rollback?

Wait, so my 1000 BTCs worth fNFTs are gone?  Huh

yup. one class action lawsuit, coming up

25 years from now we will be rich again! well, maybe our lawyers anyway
1229  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing NFTs for forum members on: April 02, 2021, 11:50:06 AM
Wait a second, do you mean I sold fNFTs I had worth 5455 BTC? I just set some stuff for sale and then forgot about it and now I can not even spend it Angry, this is just like all of those holders which forgot they had coins only to remember too late and lose any chance to recover them.

Damn, it ended just like that, I didn't  even make sales... seems like I'm still worthless
The event was not that good for me(jk)  Just I do hope we were able to withdraw that BTC

i smell an exit scam!!!

edit: lost my Cyrus-IV too. 1 of only 3 known to exist.  Cry

will all trading info be made available in some common format (*.csv say) so i can calculate capitol gains (well probably losses) and such for tax purposes?

1231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 01, 2021, 02:14:12 PM
theymos's magic, literally converted Bitcoin price movement discussion to bitcointalk.org NFTs discussion.

well, you know, with btc being dead and all he needs to keep the forum active somehow.
1232  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing NFTs for forum members on: April 01, 2021, 02:01:13 PM
rats! i fat fingered a sell for 1 btc for one of my incalculably valuable fNFTs!

im going to pm theymos and bribe ask him to roll the blockchain back to correct my mistake the forums obviously glitchy blockchain software. this should not have been allowed.
1233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 01, 2021, 01:44:40 PM
got some fNFTs. Selling some too.

me too. but i need to smoke some more maths and science before i actually get the hang of it.
1234  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing NFTs for forum members on: April 01, 2021, 01:12:59 PM
Damn, I lost my pink Theymos edition during the night ( I would be rich now).

boating accident?

I was able to get a V NFT after buying a random one 20 x.

Question: if I buy a random NFT for 50 BTC they is listed for more than 50BTC, who covers the difference? Does the seller get screwed out of the difference? Or does the forum cover the difference?

fractional reserve?

I suspect that the “random fNFT” link creates new fNFTs out of nothing.

ah. like gamestock shares then.

I suspect that the “random fNFT” link creates new fNFTs out of nothing.  That would actually place deflationary pressure on fake-BTC (which in itself has a terrifically unsound monetary policy).

fNFT printer go brrr?

this is going to take off bigly. its a good thing the forum NFT blockchain doesnt need blocks or very soon they would be so large no one would be able to store or manage it.

BRILLIANT!

so why doesnt btc do the sensible thing and follow this such obviously better tech??
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal created crypto checkout service!! on: March 30, 2021, 10:51:10 PM
im wondering how they will handle payments done with btc for tax purposes. like do you get a 1099 or something? do you have to keep track of your cost basis and such yourself?

Anybody still buying this dip from the ATH? I get paid in my fiat job tomorrow. Going to buy as much as possible, help me decide. I will buy £5 worth of bitcoin for every merit I get for this post. I will prove my purchase tomorrow with a screenshot.

Keep on stacking my WO family.

You are starting to push it now.

i will give 1 (one) merit to the next 5 (five) peeps to reply that they put Slot Kid on ignore. if any of those 5 peeps to reply already had Slot kid on ignore, they will get 2 (two) merits. no need for screenshot, honor system applies.

Slot Kid putting himself on ignore does not count.

edit: will merit in the morning.

What's wrong with Slot Kid?  I have even merited some of his posts in the past..

Oh, you mean the merit begging angle of his cited post?  I am surely NOT subscribing to merit begging, but seems to me that Slot Kid might have been merely trying to mimic the recently successful merit begging of ImThour, no?

ImThour got 115 merits for his merit begging post that happened to have been phrased in a "more hip," subtle and catchy kind of way that inspired, incentivized and motivated his target audience (namely generous merit givers to peeps supposedly buying bitcoin... blah blah blah).  Just a difference in tone, subtlety, or word choice between the two, no?  both present their lil selfies with merit begging conduct, no?

1st time around (ImThours post) it was cute. and obviously worked out merit wise (although more importantly btc wise for ImThour). 2nd time? nah.
I have been reading about all the comments about me and how people are targeting my post as merit begging. It wasn’t. It was just for fun, i even added a max limit and I literally bought $1000 worth BTC that day from my exchange.

Also, It was the choice of those who sent me merit if they found that post interesting enough.

I have never begged merit, nor I support that. It would be awesome if you keep my name out of this shit.
Thanks!

to me, your post kinda came across as parody of merit begging posts (sort of an in joke around here, or at least it has been in the past), and i got the impression you were buying a grand of btc anyway as you mentioned that specific limit. so, sorta on the edge.
