1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 11, 2023, 03:52:04 PM

It doesn't look like it's final already and they call this an exhibition fight also, it will leave some doubts that this is just kind of a rigged game.
But this is what Ngannou has been hoping though, just some boxing match with the most renowned boxers on the planet and huge pay. Too early to say but he may really get it and Dana his best friend may just as well congratulate him.

It's very possible that Ngannou can KO Tyson. If he can't then he will really have to prepare to last for at least 5 rounds. If he can survive at least 5 rounds it's not very shameful.
1222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 11, 2023, 03:37:00 PM

After one or 2 more fights of Nickal I think he could already get a title shot if Dana gives him a fast track. It's too soon but he already said he wants to fight Khamzat and Adesanya.

African fans of UFC has never been this confused, the continent is divided already, all the sport stations on radio in  Nigeria are all debating about the Dricus and Israel Adesayan crash, after Dricus beats Robert W. to qualified to fight his Africa brother for the middle belt champion. @Israel Adesayan the champion, both of them are Africans regardless whats they said in the ring to each other, we are rooting for both of them to succeed.

whosever, wins in this encounter no matter much to Africans, we just want to watch two brothers fighting dirty for the title, and would support the winner.

Dricus looking for support from African people while Adesanya doesn't need much to ask because they can tell he is from Africa by the color of his skin. Dricus point is that he is born in Africa and currently resides in Africa unlike those who claimed to fight for Africa. It feels like it will be a political issue soon.

1223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Thoughts On First Time Lottery Bettor Who Won Big Amount? on: July 11, 2023, 03:03:38 PM
Definitely envious lol Who wouldn't want to make that much some people are just luckier than anyone else. And he got what he wished for in his first attempt, while others are just wishing it for years yet never got the wish.

I remember buying a lottery ticket as well thinking I might win. There are days in my life when I got extra dollars to spend and a ticket wouldn't hurt if I get the chance. Sometimes I forget about the ticket the next day. Never knowing if I won. Sometimes I check.
1224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 11, 2023, 02:29:30 AM
-snip-
but I don't have the ability to spend money there.
Just to spend money? You don't even have to learn specifically to enjoy the entertainment of gambling. You can make random bets with small amounts to extend the game sessions.

Or do you mean getting rich by gambling? I think you are wrong choice if you see the opportunity, most gamblers end up addicted before getting rich because they are too dedicated.

This is why freebitco made sure users will have the chance to bet with the use of the BTC they get for free from their own faucet. You could say faucets had played a role in turning users into gambling especially when these users are impatient in waiting to reach threshold.

When users learned gambling thru the coins from faucets, it wouldn't need convincing for them to deposit money out their own pocket.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Former SEC Chair Says Bitcoin ETF Should be Approved on: July 11, 2023, 02:17:33 AM
The only condition I think the SEC wants is for exchanges to be transparent which is coinbase. They may be concern about manipulation and inside trading. Sounds very ironic really. But we do know Blackrock always has the back of the government, it will be approved I think they've already refiled.

Coinbase stock bounce high after the ETF announcement since last month.
1226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: July 10, 2023, 06:08:34 PM
Imo there is only one thing that is “you are going a bit far” in gambling - situation when you start to think how you gonna play back what you have already lost. If you start planning, that if you bet X amount and win, and that will be greater that you have lost, this means you are in a narrow path of loosing everything and making a wrong decision. If you catch yourself planning what you will do with winning amount - you are a bit far, in danger.

I agree, I would also add that anyone is even more in danger is takes things even further and tries to chase losses using money which does not belong to them, under the promise of wining big and paying it all back, you know, the typical dream of the jackpot.

It is something that happened to a Twitch streamer not long ago, he decided to ask money around to his family and friends, little they knew that money was being gambled away, truly a sad history. I do not wish something like that to happen to anyone, to be honest...

He is really going too far if he reasoned he'd use the funds for good yet he gambled the money he asked. That streamer is already addicted to gambling, its a manifestation of it, it also happened to several gamblers who are in such situation. Its no different to telling a lie and breaking the trust of his friends an d family.

This streamer must have been chasing his loss also like any other gambler who have been playing the risk.  AFAIK being a streamer is already a paid job. Its alarming that he still are reaping money from someone else.
1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 10, 2023, 05:13:42 PM
Can you explain me why i need to learned gambling?

Simply put, here only millions of money are managed by asset owners, so where i have no money. In fact, i have ideas about gambling, but I don't have the ability to spend money there.

There are two things I would like to say you.

1. If you are asking this question means that you don't have enough knowledge about gambling.
It's actually good because trust me, you don't have to learn gambling. It's better to stay away and actually learn skills like trading and value investing.

2. Gambling is for those who already have a lot of money and don't care if they lose some of it.
It's not for those who already have less money because they will eventually lose whatever they have.

More often than not, its actually those with less money are the ones that gambles. Base from my experience and I know them because they are my neighbors who also live in this rural country side of mine. Every payday, these guys travels miles to the town to find women and back in the barracks to gamble while getting drunk.

The supervisors and the bosses are just there to give then beers to celebrate the day and then go home to their family. Never took part of their gambling frenzy.
Those rich guys who gambles I guess are gamblers already before they got rich.

But in the forum, you don't need to learn to gamble. Investing in BTC or to an Altcoin is already a a gamble.

1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How real? That football players required to bribe before they are allowed to play on: July 10, 2023, 04:52:49 PM
Hey guys, reading little story on Kylian Mbappe who on Thursday visited Cameroon on a charity with the deaf and other familiarization visit to his father's home town. He spoke with Joseph Dion Ngute, the Cameroon's Prime Minister, he was honoured visiting and I believe this is just like the humanitarian work some influential people do

But one striking revelation was that he would have been a cameroonian player if they weren't asking his father to pay them money before allowing him to play while he still trying to fix his career and French allowed him without payment.

Quote
"At first, I wanted my son to play for Cameroon, but someone at the Cameroonian Football Federation charged me money that I didn't have to make him play," he explained. " The French charged nothing."

I have also heard of some local stories about how some coaches require money from new footballers before they allow them on trier both in their clubs and national teams. Is this happening globally for new players who are still seeking to find a spot in clubs?

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?

https://theafricanhistory.com/2975#:~:text=My%20father

That is how you lose on a great player like Mbappe when you are a corrupted country like Cameroon and many other African countries lose such star players exactly because of the same reason. Also in many other third countries in the world the same is happening and I think these type of interviews should have much wider visibility so those people who asked for money would be seeing how big these players become and stop doing it.I know that it is much more difficult to achieve because we are talking about poor countries but these poor countries should start to think bigger for themselves. It would be nice to see such a player playing for Cameroon, not that I don't like seeing him play with France.

It's saddening that a team just lost a good additional player on their side just because of money. But actually, this isn't really a new thing. Corruption can happen even in sports. As a matter of fact, it can happen in any industry as long as there are existing people who are just in it for the money. For me, it's Cameroun's loss and not Mbappe since the latter can potentially make a significant impact to the performance and record of the team if he were accepted without anything in return.

Let's just hope that this kind of routine will be put into halt because it's such a waste to lose great talent and skills just because someone wants to trade it for money and not really care about what will be its benefits to the country's pride and improvement in sports.

Happens all the time I think. You see there are foreign athletes giving honor to countries where they reside because their own country didn't support them. Take for instance a pro boxer from Mexico yet fights for Cali. Or a Nigerian fighter fighting out of Denver.

Its a waste however Kylian Mbappe becomes famous and have more influence in other country. Opportunity is deprived to the Cameroon by the Cameroonian Football Federation itself.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Positive thoughts and attitude towards Bitcoin. on: July 10, 2023, 04:22:15 PM
Well timed in investing actually. Some of us didn't have the luxury to invest at the right time when the price is very low. Some invest at the peak out of curiosity while the people are cheering for more pump yet the seasoned investors are already dumping.

Since you got in the right time, you best be getting out the right time as well.  The next bear market is your first bear market experience, its gonna be the worse too if you keep believing its going up all the way. Watch the chart.
1230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 10, 2023, 04:10:07 PM
What was that thing with Robbie Lawler? Did he retire? Or was it just a celebratuon of his 30th victory? I did not manage to watch all tha post fight thing. Saw a KO, repeat but then the tv channel was switches… It is about time for him to retire. 40+ already. Remember him when he had hair and ufc fighters got funny retro trunks  Grin

Yes, he did retire. It was about time. The dude was 41. This was a good fight for him though. Managing to knock someone out who is 33, at the age of 41 is actually really good. I have to say he had a decent career. Probably not one of the best in my opinion. But anyway, congratulations on his win and the best of luck for his future endeavours.

His career record is 30-16-0-1NC.

Yep. You don't see a 41yr old knocking out ruthlessly a younger fighter everyday.
Better to retire winning the last fight than retiring while you crawl out of the cage. In his retirement fight Lawler did the fastest KO of his career which is 38 seconds. Very worth it day to announce his retirement. Nico Price must have thought, Lawler could be his easy win but turns out a losing steak for him.

It always sound like a retirement day when 41 yr old fighter is scheduled to fight like Holly Holm. Dana I guess is terminating old contracts.

1231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 09, 2023, 08:07:34 PM
I know this is a joke. Elon can't fight Mark anyway. Because Mark has a really fit body and does sports regularly. On the other hand, Musk does not have a good body. Also, I've seen him smoke pot before on a radio show. Elon is more witty and smarter. But he doesn't stand a chance against Mark. I think he knows that too. That's why he's only bringing this up as a joke. I don't think they will ever fight. But this issue will probably continue to be on the agenda for a while in the world of magazines.
I have a different opinion that Elon Musk has a better chance of this actually happening.
From his body shape, I'm sure Elon musk has greater strength than Mark, even though Elon musk has never smoked, but for this match, not only health but physical strength is also very influential.
Another thing that I can predict if this match actually happens I think Mark will not be able to beat Elon musk with a smaller body.
No you are not that different because I see there's also a few users who have voted for Elon Musk and you all have the same impression. The first thing that you guys have noticed is the physical appearance of the contenders. It's already in our psychology that a big person do already has a bigger strength although sometimes this isn't true and there's also small guys out there who have more strength because they work out or have been involved in a strenuous activity.

Another factor we are looking to is the age. it is when the person is young we think they are more stronger but again this is sometimes wrong. The older age person usually have more experience so they are superior than the younger person.

Ok but what you are describing is going down to the actual state of the body no matter what the age is. If someone works out five times a week and takes lessons in martial arts two times a week, that person is probably kicking the ass of everyone who is a couch potato even when there are twenty years of age between the two people. If you only look at the weight and height I think that Musk has an advantage and we don't know for certain whether he is working out or not and whether he has taken any martial arts lessons recently. These special cases don't fit into the normal comparison category of course. But all things equal in terms of training and fitness, height and weight are both an important factor.

Well, if we will bet for a fight between a man who took some lessons in martial arts and trained for at least five times a week vs a man that is couch potato but let's say that the latter is 20 years younger, I'd say 25 years old. Do you honestly think that the latter have a chance of defeating the 45 years old who trained in martial arts? Obviously, the answer will be no. The couch potato would be knocked down within a single round and that is for sure.

But since this fight is about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, let me give you some facts about their background:

Elon Musk: Trained in martial arts since he was 6 years old up until now, specifically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is also black belter.
Mark Zuckerberg: Trained and studied martial arts since 2020 and have won two medals in a tournament just recently.

When you get old, you still feel like you can do things. You got the will but your body may not have that will anymore. Musk may have trained MMA to this day but those trainings are controlled fights. Putting him in a real fight and you shall see he will realize how heavy it is to hold his hands up.

In combat sports, you'll see one will definitely lose the fight when his reaction to a coming right cross is already delayed. If he was hit before he even raised his hands to cover, then he'll definitely end up laying on the ground.

1232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 09, 2023, 06:26:15 PM
A successful addict. This would be encouraging if you use this title on your online profile.

If a person has been successful in gambling already, it means he has already come up with a strategy of his own kinda like the people we see in poker tournaments who bets more than $200K never folds. Yep, those guys are not addicts anymore they've passed that stage a long time ago. Some of them stop in the middle of the game to relax, light up a cigar, and then back to their table not minding what they missed.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 09, 2023, 06:02:17 PM

Looks like we got the same result lol I only got Volkanovski right. Very hard to predict which fighter is going to win these days. Even the bookie thought DDP will lose the fight but just look at how it ends. Moreno who I think will dominate as well gets tagged many times.

I think it would have been worth going all-in for Nickal despite the small percentage of win amount. Seem like the bookie had assured to meet the expectation.
1234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How real? That football players required to bribe before they are allowed to play on: July 09, 2023, 05:36:31 PM

It wouldn't be surprising still, the corruption is everywhere. A lot of examples in African countries and this will just be one that will completely make the Cameroonian team look fake. One would ask if they also paid some amount to be part of the team.

The father must be very disappointed as well, he could have been more proud if his own country team got his son's back but instead, they were asked to pay. I would also be exposing this kind of BS if I were the father.
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 09, 2023, 05:26:45 PM
I personally lean on the opinion that using performance enhancing drugs is kind of anti-competitive and goes against what the Olympic games stand for.

However, I am not fully closed to the idea of this event taking place, who knows, perhaps there could be people that get interested and even would even bet on the events of this new format for the Olympic games.

Also, I would be concerned for the health of those who participate, if this new Olympic Games became popular, it could translate to a increase of use of such drugs by athletes, to the point of being detrimental to them, and could even encourage young people to use those drugs to get better results faster. The cultural impact should be also be considered.

There are risks in using performance-enhancing drugs and it's one of the killers. It will not take effect immediately but like any other drug, the visible effect will only be seen after a long use of it. It's addictive as well seeing a low-esteem kid will boost his confidence because he discovers women like his 6 packs tummy just like the Liverking.

Approving this kind of Olympic is like ignoring those rules in sports and the likes of USADA and WADA.
1236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think at some point government will change its stand and adopt Bitcoin? on: July 09, 2023, 03:54:54 PM
I think many are changing their minds over time, as Bitcoin keeps growing and gaining more attention. I think it's way less common to say Bitcoin is a scam than it was around 5 years ago. Instead, weaker stances are taking its place, such as that mining is bad for the environment or that many can lose their finds due to volatility.
But as for governments, I think it depends on a particular country, what we count as pro-Bitcoin, and which authorities we consider. My country is thankfully largely pro-Bitcoin, although it's nowhere near El Salvador.

Whatever the stand of Blackrock is where the stance of the US government since it's their biggest money maker. And CEO Larry Fink already express Bitcoin is digital gold. One side of the story is that China's BRICS money is about to launch in 2 weeks and is backed by Gold. and because the US is not going back to the gold standard, the US will be going for Bitcoin-backed currency.  I can only say all those lawsuits are BS and Gensler is one of those BS, just wearing my tinfoil cap.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet Apocalypse? on: July 09, 2023, 03:40:53 PM
Well, you are wrong by saying it will not impact the traditional Banking system. All client data are stored digitally .. they do not keep records on paper anymore. So they are not going to continue as normal... when the Solar storm hit them.

I agree with you. it will impact the traditional banking system. It will be closed banks for one or two weeks. all online payment will be shutdown.
but we may be able to do transactions the way of the banking system before the internet was invented.  Roll Eyes

How do we verify there is even a solar storm? Seem a very self-fulling forecast in the future where if the government wants to do something they could just lie about it and let the people know it's something only NASA knew.

But are the internet connection under the seas where there are huge cable wires down there connecting all the computers around the world? Sure that storm wouldn't scratch a butt.

1238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Healthy mindset to save earnings from gambling on: July 08, 2023, 06:02:55 PM

There have been many lottery winners who got millions in their hands but go broke after years. They party and give away their money as well to please some friends. These people are pleasers and did care what others are saying about them so they were naively vulnerable. For them, it's easy to spend the money that they also got by winning a jackpot.

They learned the hard way about people with so much money have tons of friends but are also unimportant when they have no money.
Close friends are victims of disastrous pondering; we spend our money to reap enormous earnings, but the opposite is always evident. A healthy mindset will keep us from squandering money on unimportant budgets. Perhaps there are categories of people who hit the Lotto and received enormous rewards from the system; they spend the money impulsively because they did not have to suffer or work for it; in their current state, they have nothing to offer other than chitchat about the extravagant lifestyle they lived when they were earning massive returns from gambling. We all have a tale to tell.

Easy money is spent easily as well. Some lottery winners even think they can win again like they have all the luck.

No one advised them to set aside some money for investment I guess but when they start living like a millionaire all the people around them are just taking advantage of them. Partying with them all the time. That's the problem when someone got a huge amount of money with no plans after that and no reason to save some for the future.

1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Have Any Bitcoin Stories from a Decade Ago? on: July 08, 2023, 05:49:04 PM
It doesn't matter, the reason why all these stories are making a come.back now is because Bitcoin have better value compared to past years a d some sold for a penny while few held as if they knew that Bitcoin is going to beat gold in terms of value one day, I am happy for them and they leave those who sold too earlier in a pot of regrets, I am glad I am not one of them but it's a good lesson to learn something from.

Even we who sold coins back in 2017 have regrets about not buying BTC back at $3k. Theymos has his own story AFAIK since he sold a few BTC at a price of cents.  It was 13 years ago when he sold 160 BTC. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441173.0

but Lazlo is the most celebrated though because he became famous which is the reason for the creation of Bitcoin pizza day. These stories will go to the history books is there will be one author who will list them all.  Grin

Not to hi-jack UFC 290 but Jones vs. Miocic is official! They will headline UFC 295 on Nov. 11

Dana's announcement: https://rumble.com/v2yqvrr-dana-white-announces-jon-jones-vs-stipe-miocic-to-headline-ufc-295.html

That's fine.  I think it should be encouraged that regs itt post and share any interesting developments from the UFC.  Wink  And while it's def gonna be a decent match up, it's still not Ngannou vs Jones.  Sad  That would've been the MMA heavy weight match up for the ages.  If I were in the UFC brass, I'd offer Ngannou a one fight contract that's worth something Ngannou would find hard to refuse.  That fight needs to happen imho...  For the fans.
~

Yep. Jones vs Miocic seems predictable already but it's not what people demand. Dana saw people are eager to see their fight during their PFL face-off. If arranged, we'll see them in the cage next year.

Meanwhile, Helwani said the fight between Fury and Ngannou will probably happen sooner than expected. They are making it happen which will be bigger than UFC 295 and if they really want to see which PPV will be availed more, they could schedule it on Nov 11 as well.
